I went to her because my wife really, really likes her jewelry, and so do I. The selection is unique and reasonably priced. It's a lovely little store and the people are charming and attentive. Actually, I feel sort of like the hero in a 60's romantic movie when I go there, it's that kind of attention.

That brings me to Samsville. A Native American headdress in the window brought me in. To the wife's chagrin, The vintage (1930s ~ 1970s) turquoise jewelry and great conversation kept me there. There are 3 combined sales areas, the 2 largest has all the jewelry. There is some newer stuff. But I wasn't looking for bright & shiny. The vintage jewelry showed excellent craftsmanship and lots of patina. Prices? Couldn't tell you. I didn't look or ask. Sam was there and presented a wealth of info and historical info. There's more than just turquoise. I saw clothing items and pottery including vintage stuff too. So nothing bought this time. However we'll be back with buying on the mind. In a town with plenty Native trinkets geared towards tourists this is the real deal for someone looking for authentic vintage jewelry.

The owner of this place has been saying she's going out of business for months and advertising up…read moreto 80 percent off at the store. Here's the problem. I have gone in there several times and WITHOUT FAIL I get the same story and same "mistake". I go in, ask about a particular item I want to buy and am told that the item I want is NOT 80 percent off. Ok, so I ask what the percentage off is, and they say 30%. I pick the item, get the regular price, then they calculate the 'sale' price. Then they go to the back and find they didn't give me the right price after all. They say they didn't know which one it was, I'm new, I didn't know, bla bla bla. They then tell me the real price - which was higher than the original price, then take off the percentage and it comes out to what the NON SALE price was! It's such a scam. At least they should tell the sales people to change their stories, but it's always the same. If you don't want to put something on sale, then don't, but don't do this to people. Don't pretend that something is on sale, quote a price, then say oops, I made a mistake then take 30% off the high price, which at the end makes it what the original price was. If this had happened to me once, I'd say ok, but it's happened at least, AT LEAST three times. Close your doors already Fairchild and stop doing this to people. It's sick and disgusting.
