Mow's resides in the basement of the popular (and colossal) branch of Kowloon House. While Kowloon House obviously focuses on food, its bar draws customers in with cheap beer and good music. The place is maybe around a hundred square meters, and it's as intimate as intimate goes. The stage takes up about a third of that space, and a small bar is in a nook in one corner.
Over the last few months since its opening, the place has built a name for itself and has gained a loyal following among the indie musician and university crowd, and for good reason. The intimacy of the space allows for a musical experience that's deeper than most, and some would argue more meaningful. Every performer is seen close-up--sweat, expressions, and dancing fingers all deliciously visible from the stage. The farthest table couldn't be more than two meters away.
Occasionally, Mow's also hosts film screenings, accounting for a wider community reach than the typical bar setup. read more
