Mow Carrollton made fraudulent charges to my credit card. I had signed up for a bi-weekly mowing at $39.99 plus tax for mowing and they mowed it once and mowed it way too short to about 1/2". Grass should not be cut less than 2" or it may cause it to die but will certainly cause it to stress. I called owner Jeff and told him to hold off mowing until he heard back from me. My tenant re-seeded the yard and watered it a lot to try to revive the grass as most of it had died. They had been mowing the grass for my previous tenant for several years and had apparently been mowing it way too short all along. The new grass started to grow well so I text Jeff to do a mow and to set the mowers at 2" cut height. They mowed the grass and then I received a text that my credit card had been charged $54.13, not the $43.29(tax included) total that I had agreed to and had been charged last time. I called Jeff and he said that they charged more because they decided to bag the grass this time. I never authorized him to bag the grass as I don't know anyone that does that anymore as the mowers nowadays mulch the grass. I seriously doubted they even bagged the grass. This was an unauthorized fraudulent charge on my credit card and I told him unless he reversed it I was going to press charges against him with the Carrollton Police for credit card fraud. He agreed to reverse part of the charge and I told him to never mow my grass again. Went to remove my credit card from him website and remembered that there was no secure third party app log-in on his website where I entered my credit card info, I had given it to him verbally over the phone and that was how he was able to make the fraudulent charge. So Jeff has all of his customer's credit cards at his disposal to use and charge their card any amount he chooses. I still might be contacting the Carrollton Police regarding his unauthorized use of my credit card. Mow Masters just left after their first time. I did ask them to contact me so I can unlock the gates and shut my doggie door, which they didn't. However, they did such a great job I don't even care. Our backyard was an absolute nightmare beforehand. It's a rental house and it wasn't taken care of before we moved in. You certainly can't tell that now, it looks amazing! They did such a wonderful job and all of the leaves and trimmings were neatly bagged up, walkways swept and edges are perfect. My 3 year old son went out to unlock the gate with me and he was very exited to see the mowers. The crew was very friendly and kept waving at him through the windows. They will not mow your lawn unless there are 4 other lawns they can mow on your street. I am in fact in their mowing zone. It's seriously impossible to find good lawn care service. Ugh. Update in response to the business owner: Your statement is false. I do not live in Carrollton. I called to ask if my zip code was in your mowing zone and you said yes. I desperately needed my lawn mowed so I called mow masters on a Saturday I was told they couldn't get to me until tues at first I was not willing to wait but then I said what the heck lets do Tuesday the gentleman called me back and confirmed but said I needed to go online and sign up which I was able to give my credit card info and sign up on Monday a day prior to my scheduled date just to be told that they won't be out until Friday! What!? What the heck happened to my promise of Tuesday instead of apologizing and working with me knowing the urgency he offered to just cancel my service HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I understand the rain has their schedule busy but if you can't trust someone's word then what can you trust!? We were using Just Mowing for 2 years until they discontinued the area and referred me to Mow Masters. I was very nervous to change the bi-weekly service to my grandmother's house since she is aging and the only thing in life is her lawn and her family. I got pricing, signed up and the service started all via online. I explained the situation and how she is very particular with her lawn and is also aging and might not understand as quickly. I assumed they would do the same as Just Mowing did and show up, cut the lawn and move on without a word. But no, they had someone come to her door and delicately explain what they were going to do and their plans for her yard. My grandmother was overjoyed with the courtesy and cleanliness of their mowers as well as the man who came to the door and duscussed it with her. She was absolutely thrilled and just raved about their service. And in "Aging" terms, "all their mowers had BAGS to collect the grass as they cut it. YES, BAGS! I didn't have to sweep my patio, or anything. It was all clean and my yard has NEVER looked so good!" So, this was an extreme relief to the family who pays for this service to make her happy. And if you only knew the troubles we went through before now, this was incredible. I highly recommend Mow Masters for your own house or someone who the family has to go cut their yard on a routine basis. This has been such a stress relief, I just can't say enough. I am so thankful that Just Mowing decided to refer us to people who are just as reasonable and made her feel like her opinion matters. Started with mow masters after becoming tired of the fly-by-night services (you know the kind that leaves business cards taped to your door). Jeff gave me a quote for weekly mowing, hedge trimming and a spring flower bed mulch. After some confusion as to what the guys were actually supposed to do when they first came out (problem resolved that day) it's been great so far! A little on the expensive side for the hedge trimming but the weekly service is actually cheaper than the "three guys in a truck" that I had before. Keep up the good work MowMasters. They are affordable, they get work done reliably quickly and they do a good job. On the other hand, they are bad in the communication front. If you e-mail them to ask a question about your account, they completely ignore the e-mail. You'd have to call them several times before you actually get a response. Once you are a paying member, they will get the work done, get your money but won't answer any of your questions about anything. read more
