If you've read my reviews on The Terracotta or King's Court, you'll realise that I'm fairly protective of the latter, and will only really eat Chinese food from that particular takeaway. The exception to this rule is when King's Court has been replaced by another, handier Chinese that happens to replace it in the nearness stakes. Just to clear that up...I like 'em one at a time, you see.
Movilla Palace (only a Chinese could be named that) just so happened to be the closest takeaway to the house of the child I used to babysit, and so was frequently called upon for a late night binge. My boyfriend at the time would call them up, and then hop in the care for the two minute journey to the Chinese to collect the food. They were always quick, the black bean chicken chow mein was good, and the prices were totally affordable...£ 5.30 for the aforementioned dish, and only £1.60 for chips. Sweet.
Yep, this place did nicely as a temporary replacement for King's Court. No hard feelings, eh? read more
