On delivery everyone was calling me. My husband was in our dining room but the driver never came to the door. That seemed odd as I had 15 phone calls and texts when I looked at my phone. This company's business model is "bait and switch". I was naive to how transporting a car across the country works and they took full advantage. Initially quoted $1300 and ultimately it cost me $2000. After days of promising me a driver would pick up the car "soon", Alex told me the only driver he could find wanted more money and if I agreed the car would be picked up the next morning. Since I had already flown to the other side of the country, I felt I had no choice but to agree. The car still wasn't picked up for another 3 days and then sat in a warehouse for 2 more days before moving. This company is dishonest and looks for opportunities to take advantage of customers. TLDR: READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY!! I reached out to see if they could move my new rv from the dealer to the rv park and they got a contract written up but in the contract it says things like: 1)anything talked about or discussed, any previous contracts or promises that happen before signing the contract are considered null and void when the contract is signed. 2) the drivers insurance will ONLY (and yes only is in all caps in the contract) cover damages due to driver negligence. If someone hits your vehicle or a rock gets kicked up and hits your vehicle during transport, you are on your own. 3) no guarantees on pick up or delivery dates or times, and the customer is responsible for any issues that arise from the delivery driver showing up late or not at all. And when I started bringing these things up, I kept getting assurance that they work with professional drivers, and issues are very rare. So I came to yelp to warn everyone and as you can see... There are plenty of warnings from people who actually did sign the contract. Dont get me wrong... I completely understand why they have those things in there. I wouldn't want to be responsible for what happens with a contracted driver either. But thats why I'm not going with this company. I would be responsible for what happens with the contracted driver. I would have to assume the responsibility that this company very clearly does not want to assume (for good reason). And that sounds crazy to me... Seriously, how do they get people to sign a contract that says if the driver hits a pothole on the road and damages your vehicle, or an uninsured driver crashes into your vehicle, the driver and movewheels have zero responsibility or liability for the damage? Kenneth at movewheels.com answered all my questions promptly, seemed to understand my concerns, and when an issue arose with the first hauler who was supposed to pick up my car, Kenneth stepped up and found another hauler to do the job for roughly the same price as the original guy *and* within what had become a very tight, make-or-break time frame. It turns out that shipping a car is a process that involves many moving parts and sometimes they all fall into place, sometimes they don't. This is a long overdue review but I would never recommend this company to even a person I disliked. They initially quoted me one rate and then told me the carrier was asking for $100 more. The reason why I felt pressured to pay more was because I had already booked my flight to move across the country and didn't have time to search for a new carrier. After paying they gave me an estimated date when my car would come and it came almost 4 DAYS after!!! The worst part is I was nearly assaulted by the truck driver because I discovered it came with a FLAT tire that wasn't there before so I hesitated on paying the full amount and wanted to call the cops to make a report. Move Wheels has tainted my view on the auto transport business moving forward. The communication process was VERY unprofessional from start to finish. I spoke with Stacy Garcia and her 'assistant' Vicky throughout the process. I signed the contract with the quote of $700. The communication process was unprofessional - when I didn't pick up a phone call immediately, they would continue to call me. In one instance, Stacy (or Vicky) called me three times within the same hour, to get me to sign the contract for the $700. Once I finally did, they sparsely responded to the questions I asked about the actual transaction / contract. I didn't hear an exact update about a carrier until 48 hours before the pick up date - that morning, they called me 7 times between 8:03am and 8:28am. When I called them back, come to find out that the 'only' carrier that would be available would only accept $1400 (double of the original contract). The car shipment locations are very common high volume places to ship a vehicle - Glendale, Arizona to (about 10 miles outside of) Seattle, WA; this was frustrating to speak with Stacy, as she was saying that this route is "very unpopular" and there's only this driver available. This was simply NOT TRUE. Reminder, Move Wheels (Stacy) didn't give me this increased price until 48 hours before the scheduled pick up date. When we did manage to get ahold of someone at "dispatch", they told us the truck had a flat tire, so they couldn't make it to us. Received a quote for $795 to transport from WI to NM. Confirmed details. Confirmed payment. Day of the scheduled pick up, the driver fell through (?) and received a follow up quote for $1900. The carrier worked to drop the price with the shipper and took a hit to drop to $1100. Still more than the quote, which is disappointing, but I am happy that MoveWheels could work it out to the extent that they could. I do wish that the quote was more realistic, as this quote was in line with others that I received, and I may have been able to get a better rate if they had communicated more about the variability of the market. This is the industry though, as it seems that carriers/drivers have a huge amount of control in negotiating for day-of pricing. All in all- Promising quote. Good service. I wish I could give them zero star. I cancelled my agreement with Sherpa Auto transport and jumped to movewheels after they PROMISED to do the job some $ 500 cheaper than the sherpas. The deal was done a month before the actual moving. I asked one of their agents, Beverly, if she would make sure my car would be picked up on time, she assured several times to me that their company is super duper trusted and that my car would be shipped to GA from CA ON TIME as promised. 3 days before, the same lady called me and said someone would be at my address. I waited but nobody came, neither she called me. I texted and called her several times and finally she said she's looking for a driver. One day before moving she called me and said that driver didn't want to go so she found another one but for $600 more. I had no choice coz I was leaving early next day. So I paid it. They assigned the job to a company called 5 Star Auto South, Tennessee. The driver was such an unprofessional and untrustworthy guy. He drove my car for 15 minutes around Santa Ana(I saw in the camera)taking it out of the truck, I don't know why. He then didn't turn my car engine off after it's put up in the hauler and travelled some 8 hrs. It's all recorded. He dropped the car three days later than he said with the front windshield cracked. Now my car engine makes so weird noise despite being brand new, possibly due to prolonged idling. It was my misfortune to turn my beautiful car into piece of sht due to my bad decision of shipping with them without even doing a single research. THEY ARE SCAM, ITS NOT EVEN A COMPANY. I was told everything was in place and my contract states the same. The day of my pickup I received no phone call, no email, nothing about the status of the pick up. Worst experience EVER with this company! Beware! If you're considering shipping your car, look elsewhere. This company is shady. We signed a contract back in July with an agreed upon price of $1075 to ship from California to Michigan. They told us that we could fill up our car with cargo as long as it was below window level. Our estimated pick up day was September 6. We called and confirmed with them prior to the day of pick up to make sure everything was running on schedule. We were assured that they would pick up on September 6 in the afternoon. The day came and went and no pick up. No call, no nothing. Tried calling them but got no answer. Sent them an email and did not hear back from them until Monday morning with an excuse that the driver had a bad truck and couldn't make the pick up on that day. Was told that they would pick it up that afternoon, Monday, September 7. Well, you guessed it! No show. No call. Nothing. Called them again and got another excuse about the driver having truck issues and how they are trying to find another driver to pick up the car. All the while, we're getting calls from other carriers saying they can pick up the car but it'll cost $1950. How they got our number is beyond us! Tuesday comes and goes, car is still not picked up. Then comes Wednesday. They then said they found a driver but it'll be an up charge of $1400. Explained with them that we had a contract of $1075 but they keep saying it's because it's a different carrier and they cannot do it any lower that $1400. Was given some excuse that the driver had originally wanted $1800 but they negotiated on our behalf down to $1400. After much going back and forth, we had an agreed upon price of $1300 and the car would be picked up within an hour and a half. Yes, you guessed it! They never showed. All the while, a new contract was drawn up and sent over with the new agreed upon price of $1300. In said contract, it states that we paid the $100 deposit and that upon delivery of the car, we would be responsible for paying the remaining $1200. The car was not picked up until Saturday. When the driver came to pick up the car, he says it'lL cost an extra $200 for the cargo in the car. Ugh. Fine whatever. Just ship the car! So, let's review. We made the $100 deposit. We are responsible for the remaining $1200 out of the agreed upon $1300. Now it'll cost an extra $200. So upon delivery, we will be responsible for $1400. Right?! Apparently NOT! The car was delivered today and we were told that we have to pay $1500. Where are you getting that?! The driver says the agreed upon price was $1300, plus the extra $200. I told him WE made the $100 deposit already and that my credit card was already charged for that $100 deposit so it should only be $1400. He gave me lip about how he doesn't have time for the hassle! Are YOU serious?! What a joke! He then says he will not release the car unless he is paid the $1500. I just cannot! Shady shady shady! DO NOT USE, unless you love tons of stress and a total mess on your hands. Their Quote are not honored, they rack on tons of extra costs "They didn't know about at bid." 1) They say they have 24/7 support. This is false; they are incredibly nonresponsive and nearly impossible to get a hold of. 2) I needed to ship cars to Hawaii. I signed agreements and provided everything they asked for over a month in advance. Most of the other brokers say they can make arrangements withing 48 hours only. My vehicles were scheduled to be picked up on a Friday. The vehicles were not picked up until the following Wednesday. They also did not check the port schedule so my cars will have to sit in port storage for a Month. 3) The vehicles got to port and Movewheels had not filed the paperwork with the shipping port nor made ANY reservations in advance. (I paid a deposit up front for this to have been done a week prior). The vehicles were turned away. 4) The truck driver tried 3 times to deliver the vehicles and Movewheels still didn't have the paperwork filed correctly. The driver's fee has been going up the whole time TO 4 DAYS LOSTS and Movewheels will not pay the driver for the extra trips and days of waisted time. Now the driver will not deliver my vehicles until they are made whole. 5) They assured me personal goods are okay in the cab as long as they are not loose. Not true, personal goods are not accepted at the port to Hawaii whatsoever. 6) I have been on the hook to correct and pay to correct all of their mistakes while I myself am moving. 7) Movewheels has still not been able to execute the delivery of my vehicles and now they want me to cancel my contract with them and figure out how to coordinate moving my vehicles on my own after they have created a massive mess due to their own negligence. 8) I still do not know where my vehicles are, nor the condition my vehicles are currently in. 9) Movewheels is refusing to make the situation right, they did not pay the truck driver, they would not find a way to ship my personal items that were assured to me to be accepted in the cab. 10) Their only solution is to make me clean this whole mess up while I am in the process of moving. I wish I could give these guys a zero. First off, this situation is definitely my fault for not doing my research on this company. If I would've looked there would have been a zero percent chance of using them. My 1963 Volkswagen was in a FRONT end accident at the beginning of September. I had the car shipped to my friends in Long Beach to get fixed. When the car got to me, there was fresh damage on the rear end. The driver wouldn't take responsibility and neither would his dirt bag boss. What's weird is if the damage was already there like they claim, why is there no rust on the new damage. What is also weird is the damage to my roof from when the car got bumped on the trailer of their truck. Horrible!! They failed to arrange a pick up as agreed and charged me a fee. Don't use them at any cost.

Really unprofessional interaction with rep Mia today. I politely declined her offer to ship my vehicle for $90 more than a quote I received from another company. When I told her I got a better offer elsewhere, she sent me a snooty "Let me know once they tell you a story that a driver cannot pick up the vehicle for any reason" Wow Mia, you're a sore loser.
