But since I've been going to the gym for 3 years now here are some critiques The hip thrust machine always has a line. Please invest in another hip thrust machine or two because it truly is one of the most popular machines for the girls. There is only one smith machine. There is always a line for the smith machine as well. I've also had a lot of issues with people placing their stuff on equipment and walking away like that claims the machine. There needs to be a sign that says you can't put your stuff on an equipment and walking away for 10 mins. It's very frustrating for a mom that only has a certain amount of time to workout while my kid is in daycare. My app has not worked to make a daycare appointment for months. I've mentioned this several times and the management needs to help the daycare with this issue. The daycare hours have made me truly considering canceling and going to lifetime since that is honestly the only reason I go to this gym. They should be open on sundays and not have a 4 hour gap in the middle of the day.

They also have several other high ranking coaches that really know what they're doing. We've been at Checkmat V1sion in Ladera since day 1, but my daughter has been training with Coach Annie and Coach Joao for almost 2 years. They've taken her from wearing a "loaner" Gi to competing in 14 competitions and winning 13 medals last year. I can tell you from my almost daily interactions that all the coaches are extremely dedicated to each and every student and supporting their BJJ journey no matter where that takes them. In my case, I've seen my young daughter grow dramatically in her self-confidence under the guidance of Coach Annie and Joao and both of them took their own personal time to attend every competition she had last year. Not only supporting my daughter but the entire team. The facility is spotless and right in the center of town. They have a ton of classes 6 days a week so it's super easy to find a time that works for me and my daughter. Something that makes this Jiu Jitsu Academy different than some others is its competition program. The primary coaches not only teach/train regular BJJ classes they also train champion competitors. My daughter's entire group of about 30 kids in her specific age group competes regularly. But, the biggest thing I love about this gym and the BJJ community, in general, is that it's more like family than anything else. Everyone is really engaged and supportive, especially the parents of all the kids. I myself started training recently and if you're considering any type of martial arts program I'll tell you there's nothing quite like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and this gym checks all the boxes for me. This is the second 24 location that is closest to me so why not try it out. I have to say it's a lot bigger and had more amenities than the one we go to. Not saying it's better but I do prefer this location. Everyone is super nice and the sauna is amazing. That and they have a hot tub, can't wait to use It next time I go. Overall I really enjoy working out at 24 hour fitness regardless of the location! Thank you everyone for making it such a great experience.

Okay, updating my review from five months ago, and I'm even happier now! I started Orangetheory…read moreback in March 2025, and seriously, this is the only fitness thing that's ever stuck with me since I played team sports in high school. It's completely changed how I feel about going to the gym. I actually get excited to go. The structure is what gets me; it keeps things fresh so I'm always learning and challenged, which means zero boredom. Even when I'm totally exhausted and ready to bail (or cancel), the instructors are just amazing. They bring the energy and manage to pull me through somehow. Huge shout-out to my favorite instructors: Russell and Devin, y'all are still incredible, delivering super fun but challenging classes. And I have to mention Jonnie and Jared--they're totally awesome, great instructors too! They're all fantastic at pushing you hard without making it feel impossible. And let's not forget the front desk--they are the sweetest! Everyone is lovely and welcoming, especially Shannon, Bridgette, Jaidyn, Melia, Gage, and Drae. They make everything smooth and always have such positive energy.
