I had an appointment scheduled with another company but Move West offered such a lower rate that i had to take it & cancel my previously made appointment. They said they would be here at 9. Finally at 10:30 they rolled up. One man came down and started disassembling a desk only for the OWNER to walk in & say we needed to disassemble it so his worker can get more done. He then went back to his truck & left ONE worker working alone. I said we paid for a 2 man crew. Owner then came inside to say they were leaving because another one of their trucks broke down and maybe he can move us next week! They were here 20 minutes tops & did nothing but take out 2 screws from a desk! We needed to move out that day & they did not care. What an absolute waste because at that point no one had availability to move us that day. This is the absolute worst company to do business with!! Cheaper is not always better!! read more

Our experience was we contracted them to come out and move us from Canutillo to Las Cruces. We sent them pictures of all of the rooms in our house to show what we needed moving. We then packed up about 50% prior to the move. The owner came out on Monday of the move (Wed) and took a look and said he doubted they could get us moved out on Wednesday due to the size of the move. I told him we contracted for them to pack us on Tuesday and then finish the move by Noon on Wednesday. He said he only promised they would try (guess a contract and verbal agreements mean nothing to this company). Tuesday arrive at 10 with 2 guys only, leave at 5pm with about have of the packing they needed to do done. Wednesday arrive at 10, still only 2 guys. My wife and I packed all day Tuesday and Wednesday. Didn't get moved out till 9:00 PM with still a ton of stuff in the driveway needing to be put on the truck. I was dolling stuff out to the truck all day. We closed at noon so squatting till 9:00 PM then trespassing since the house was no longer mine. We drove to Las cruces and closed on that house at 3:00 PM so we weren't homeless, just exhausted and sleeping on the floor. We did a similar move 3 years prior from Alpine TX to Canutillo. Same household and Mayflower sent 4 guys the first day (8:00 AM Start - 8:00 PM stop) with 99% on the truck. Next day finished of the packing and they were in Canutillo by 2 in the afternoon unloading. The biggest issue with Move West is the owners greed in over booking moves and not having the manpower to meet commitments. The only thing that saved us is the new owners did plan to move in till Thursday so they were very nice and accommodating to our problems with the movers. The only silver lining is the two men that did pack us and loaded the truck were very nice and worked very hard. I did have to tip them very well for they were wanting to walk off on Wednesday around 6 PM because their boss wouldn't provide them with the help they need to do the job. On Thursday one of them didn't show up and his partner said he had quit. The owner showed up later in the day to help unload. I did not for I was physically exhausted from the 2 days prior as well as my wife (I was 67 at the time my wife 71). I would never ever hire them and if you do you have been warned. read more

Do not recommend this company. I have used them three times. You'd think that, as a return customer that my return business would be acknowledged and appreciated. Not the case. The guys that do the actual moving are great. Roger and his wife need to get it together regarding communication, pricing and invoicing, however. Roger has changed the price on me twice - after the move! He would tell me one thing, then change his price significantly after the job. He also damaged one of my pieces of furniture, though he did fix it. He took the damaged piece to his office to fix and I had to stay after him to get it back. It seems as if every time Roger is involved, things get a little murky. I don't think this is a professional company at all and they're pricey. read more

We just used Move West today and I could not be happier! I unfortunately don't remember the two gentlemen that moved us, but they were fast; efficient; professional and careful not to damage any of our furniture or the new house we are moving into. We used another company to move out of our old house to storage and wish so much we had used Move West to begin with. These two gentlemen moved a 3-bedroom house in the span of 2.5ish hours. If or when we ever move again, we know who we will be calling for the move. read more

Movers are the best, business practices are horrible. Movers made mistake on calculations of my invoice. Owner Roger called me about 18.00, REALLY! How pathetic, just write it off. Won't use them again, when they moved me into my home broke a panel on my China Cabinet purchased at Charolottes and Roger refused to pay for the repair. Horrible horrible owner, when I booked the move spoke to owner's son. He was rude and disrespectful! Roger is pathetic, don't know how they stay in business, trust me this is the last time I will use them! read more

Excellent service done efficiently and competently. We hired Move West to load PODS containers, after we ourselves boxed our small items. We told the company how many containers and the size of our house. A 2-man crew for four hours was recommended, and that ended up being accurate. Price was excellent. When the containers were unloaded at our new destination, I heard the unloading crew remarking on how well the containers were packed. EDIT: Also, nothing was damaged or misplaced. read more

Again with this guy...read his response. We have video of his movers dragging a refrigerator on a broken dolly across the floor and gouging it...not scuffs...not nicks...a huge gouge mark from kitchen to front door. We asked him to pay for that portion ONLY of the floor to be refinished and he refused saying "it was not worth it." Asked the previous owner to help...he responded the same to them. All we wanted was the floor to be in the condition it was in when we purchased the house ...not better...not worse. He even sent his own tile guy over who agreed with us that he could not "spot" fix a gouge mark like this one. Beware. read more

The simple act of calling to inquire about rates and availability seemed too much to handle for these folks. I'm guessing we spoke to the owner. He was rude, and tried to find every angle to up the price, including charging $35 to drive to the west side just to do the job. We are going a different way. Pretty piss poor way to handle customer service. I expect more from poorly trained circus monkeys. read more

They DID NOT SHOW UP on the day of my scheduled move! The owner didn't call me until late in the day, only to tell me that they wouldn't be able to show up for my move. He said that there had been a lack of communication from his men and that they had already gone out on another job. I was very upset because I had taken time off from work in order to move on that specific day. I had only a short window of time to move in to my new apartment and take care of several things, like having Internet service installed. I had to reschedule the Internet install because Move West didn't show up, and it put me way behind on all the other things I needed to do before going back to work. The owner did not seem to realize the terrible position they put me in by not showing up. He offered to come the next day to move my things, but I told him that I didn't trust him that they would show up. He kept insisting that they could come the next day, but I was very upset and told him that I thought it was very unprofessional of them to leave me hanging like that. He said he had to check on something and hung up. I then immediately scrambled to try and find another moving company who would be willing to move me at the last minute. Thank goodness that I did find someone reliable, professional and trustworthy (All My Sons). I ended up having to pay the other moving company a WHOLE LOT more, but I felt that I had no other choice, given the circumstances. They weren't able to move me until the following day, but that was better than nothing. Soon after I contracted a different moving company, the owner from Move West called me back. He said that he would be able to come and move my things that same day after all. I don't know what changed within that short amount time, that he would suddenly be able to move me, but I REALLY did not trust that he would make good on his word. Everything about the way that he dealt with me was very unprofessional. The fact that I waited around all afternoon without hearing from him, until the last minute only to tell me that they couldn't come. And the fact that, obviously, he doesn't run his business in a professional manner, because his crew should have known that I was on the schedule that day for a move. He says his men didn't let him know they had finished one job and had gone out on another job. Well, as the owner, he should have communication and business practices in place to prevent such things from happening. I thought that the rate he quoted me, for my move, was very good. And, at the time, they had a pretty good rating with the Better Business Bureau. However, I STRONGLY CAUTION anyone to reconsider before hiring Move West Moving Company in El Paso, TX. Don't let a good moving rate cause you the kind of stress, headaches, and time lost that I experienced! read more

Not a good experience, the guys showed up and when they got there they had no boxes, packing tape, or packing paper. I guess the company never told them it was a pack and move. Then they had the nerve to say it was my fault! Luckily I still had the boxes and packing paper from my last move. I had to go buy them packing tape. Then when all was said and done they still charged me full price! Rip off! Do not use these guys! read more

Have used these guys several times in the past and had never had an issue. On my last move, the service was just down right terrible though. Guys were nice enough but one of them was either sick or hungover, either way the guy shouldn't have shown up to work place and his supervisor should have screened him for safety purposes. The same move that took about 4 hours before became an 8 hour session with the sick guy complaining and asking for a 3rd man to be sent in. 5 hours in, I was finally able to get a 3rd guy to the site in order to speed up this mess. Mind you, this company scheduled me about 3 weeks beforehand and advised me that 2 guys should handle it no problem since it had been done by 2 in the past and have had no issues. Final result? Damaged furniture, no resolution on the management side, and a pretty steep bill. There is no way I can recommend this company. read more
