I found that Sims Metal, aka SA Recycling, will buy copper at a great price! I was there less than 20 minutes, and walked out a bit richer! Lol Not bad, considering that I was going to throw it out! I will say that it's a bit intimidating because there are big rigs flying in and out with tons of scrap metal! It was quite an experience that I will not soon forget. The attendant was very helpful. They have large scales to weigh the copper, and hand you a receipt showing the total weight and what they pay per pound, $3.70. They do require you show a valid driver's license, and they take your photo. I declined because I thought it was optional, but they said it's for security because apparently copper is stolen often. I laughed and obliged. It is not a business that I will need to return to any time soon, but I most definitely will recommend them to anyone looking to sell their copper or scrap metal.
