I can't recommend Move Masters highly enough. By far the best moving experience of my life. They were the most professional, driven, careful, kind, and best priced movers I've found (in 10+ moves!). Our whole family felt like we gained a lot of brothers and a sister. Amazing! Wayne came and gave me a quote--which was very accurate. They showed up on time, worked very hard, treated all our furniture (including heavy antiques, fragile glass, etc) carefully. Nothing was broken or damaged. I really had high hopes for this company. The reviews on both Yelp and Thumbtack were great, so I decided to go with them. The Good: 1 - My initial interaction/communication with Move Masters was great. I received an estimate via Thumbtack shortly after I submitted the request. The quote was confirmed via a phone conversation with Melinda who was extremely professional and thorough. After I booked the move, she sent me an email confirmation with all of the details of the move. 2 - The movers arrived within the estimated window on move day. The Bad: 1 - On move day, everything was off to a great start in the beginning, but the guys (I went with 3 movers) seemed to drag quite a bit towards the end (of the first leg - loading the truck). I later learned that I was their second move of the day. Lesson learned for me...be the first move of the day. 2 - After everything was loaded on to the truck, they asked if they could stop to grab dinner. I thought this was a bit odd, but had no issues with this. It just took a bit longer than I expected. 3 - During the second leg of the move (unloading the truck), furniture was dropped, furniture was damaged, and my living room wall was dinged. Additionally, one of the movers pretty much threw a tantrum because one of the other movers told him to do something that he did not want to do (i.e. stop taking personal calls on the job). At that point, I was just ready for the move to be over, so I pitched in to help move items from the truck to the apartment. I understand that they had to go up and down stairs and that the boxes were heavy, but that's what I hired them for. Towards the end, they seemed to want to just put boxes anywhere instead of where I wanted them to go. I was overwhelmed trying to search for a moving service considering horror stories i had heard from friends. First impression was the person on phone was very responsive and professional in asking abut my requirements and considering good reviews on yelp i went with them. Now, on the day of the move they were late, when i called they were prompt in reply .. but this is a small issue and still the 5 stars , Zack and steve were very courteous and extremely fast in the move, and made it very stress free for me. Outstanding service. Called and told me they could move me sooner because they were finish with the job before me. Came in started moving items and placing on truck without any problems. They moved the items in a very professional manner and have the new location looked up with directions, so I didn't have to tell them how to get to the new location. They unpacked the truck and stack everything in a location I need. Also, this company has REAL printed forms and information to give customer, NOT like others that just use a copy machine. Very professional! The driver went over the charges and pointed them out on the professional form he gave me to have for my record. The rates for the move was fair and the three movers acted in a very professional manner. Any company that has REAL printed forms and information to give customers tells me they are a REAL mover company, not just a guy with a large truck picked day workers to move me! read more

Their license has been revoked from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (I found this out while attempting to file a complaint against them) at the time that this review was submitted. You can go to txdmv.gov or https://apps.txdmv.gov/apps/mccs/truckstop/ to check if a moving company is licensed by the State of Texas. Hired them in September of 2014 for a move. Two pieces of my furniture were damaged, and although I was promised that my furniture would be repaired and returned to me at no extra cost, in September 2015 I ended up having to rent a truck to pick up my furniture from their storage space. To top it off one of my pieces was still broken. I would give them -1 stars if I could and here's why: -1 star: they lost my furniture for about 8 months or so. Instead of returning my furniture to me promptly after it was repaired. Instead, after my furniture was returned to them from the repair shop it was placed into one of their storage units. Ostensibly this happened because the proprietor had taken ill and my furniture had been returned in his absence, but the fact that no one else knew what to do with my furniture when it was returned to Move Masters is a bit unsettling. Once I was able to reestablish contact with the proprietor it still took several months for them to find my furniture in their storage facilities. -1 star: the sheer unprofessionalism of the proprietor. I don't know if I've ever received such terrible customer service. While the proprietor was rather assuring and courteous to start off, when things went wrong he quickly lost his cool. He became difficult when pressed on the matter of my lost furniture, and eventually stopped answering my emails or returning my calls. It took filing a compliant with the Better Business Bureau to get him to respond to me, and even then he was confrontational and difficult to deal with. We exchanged emails back and forth through the BBB for several weeks, which ended up feeling like he was holding my furniture hostage just to be difficult. It actually took the intervention of the Texas DMV to produce any real results. I had also filed a complaint with them at the same time that I had filed with the BBB, and once the Texas DMV finally responded to my complaint the tone of the proprietor's correspondences changed. -1 star: the issue was actually resolved by the Texas DMV, not by the proprietor, and in fact the proprietor was obstinate throughout the entire process. -1 star: a mirror on one of the pieces was still broken when it was finally found. Instead of offering to pay to fix the piece a second time, as it was damaged while in the care of Move Masters, no offer for recompense was initially made. Although, when I did go to pick up the furniture it was brought to my attention that the proprietor was willing to pay a flat rate compensation, which wouldn't have even covered the cost of renting the van that I rented to go recover my property from Move Masters' storage facility. -1 star: ultimately I had to take half of a day off, rent a moving van and enlist help to go over to Move Masters' storage facility to retrieve my furniture. Again, I was promised that my furniture would be repaired and returned to me at no extra cost. Although I was told that the company was without a fleet of vehicles and that they would not be able to transport my furniture to me, there was a Move Masters truck parked on site when I arrived at their storage facility. Also, when I called the Move Masters office to arrange to come pick up my furniture, for a moment the receptionist asked me if I wanted them to deliver my furniture back to me. Once she realized who I was I was informed that I would have to come and pick it up as per the instructions of the proprietor. I suspect that in all of this the proprietor was just being difficult. -1 star: owner gives his own business 5-star ratings to bump up his Yelp rating. Owner started trolling me on Yelp after I gave him a bad rating. Totally unethical. read more

I have been putting off this review in hopes he would redeem himself, it hasn't happened. The movers showed up a half hour late, not a huge deal. They proceeded to scratch the heck out of the wood floors in our old place, even after I pointed it out and ask them to stop dragging things. When we arrived at the new house we saw how they had stacked the Fragile boxes on bottom and almost all boxes were crushed in. Numerous bubble wrapped items were broken among other things, I found Santa's concrete foot shoved down inside an artificial plant. We have broken dishes, crystal, mirror etc. Smudges on the edges of the mattresses, I saw this happening and said something (apparently it's ok not to wrap them and drag the edges in the house). The workmen could not all read English (fragile) on the boxes, they were all nice (little did we know they were hiding broken things. It was like having your friends move you, not professionals, these guys did bust their butts but dropping already crushed boxes six inches from a tile floor just doesn't cut it. The entire time the head guy heavily complained about the company being terrible and having quit them 3x, but he needed a job. At least two other moves were scheduled for that day and didn't happen, so glad we were first on the list. The biggest disappointment by far was Wayne, he seemed so nice on the phone. I emailed pics of all the broken items and kept him updated, he never responded. I ask repeatedly for him to please respond and let me know how we needed to proceed for his insurance to cover the damages, he never responded. I called the company number, it had been disconnected. Luckily he had given me his cell, I called and woke him up, he said he had received my emails and would call me back, he never did. I would not recommend this horrible company ever! read more

We had a great experience with this service. It was super affordable, the 3 guys were polite and professional and quick. They had a big job ahead of them, moving my house and my boyfriend's townhome to the home we bought together. They arrived right on time at 9 am and I think they were done right after lunch. They didn't scratch any walls, knick any furniture and wrapped everything, took apart and reassembled things for me. Super nice people with a large, clean truck. We expected our move to cost significantly more and were pleasantly surprised when the total was almost half of what we anticipated. I am recommending this to everyone I know. Absolutely hopeless moving company: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. They managed to damage two steelcase filing cabinets beyond repair (how do you even do that?). A desk was also damaged and was taken away by them to be repaired. After 2 weeks they told us that the desk was not repairable and that it would be replaced. More weeks have passed without action and now they will not return our calls. Their quote may look attractive, but what we saved on the front end we lost on the back end. read more

My family and I used Move Masters to move us from one home to another. The moving day was not the best. We watched as these untrained movers carelessly broke are belongings. They started by wrapping and protecting our items but then they got lazy or careless and stopped padding our breakables and just started loading things in the truck. I watched as my brand new dresser was dropped as it was being loaded into the truck and then dropped again as they were unloading it at the new house. I thought watching our things get broken the day of the move was the worst of it but boy was I wrong. The real TORTURE were the MONTHS to follow. Dealing with this company is agonizing. They are unprofessional and have zero communication skills. I filed a claim for our damaged items 2 weeks after our move but it wasn't until 7 1/2 MONTHS later that I FINALLY received compensation for my damaged items (and it doesn't even cover 1/2 the cost). It was months of poor communication (on their part, I called or emailed weekly), lack of respect from them and the manager put the blame on me. He never once sincerely apologized or took ownership. It was always someone else's fault. It was his assistants fault for not responding to my email, it was the movers fault for being in a rush, it was my fault for not putting his name in the subject line of the email, and it was the post office's fault for "losing" the check he sent. (He supposedly sent 4 checks by the way... I only received 1.) It took so long to review our claim because my husband posted a negative review online. (It wasn't until after that negative review that we actually heard from him at all!) I was nothing but nice and understanding during the whole process and I got nothing but excuses (and a headache) in return. I highly recommend you NOT use this company. read more

Though there was one small issue, I am giving 5 stars because the matter was dealt with promptly and satisfactorily. The two movers were timely and worked efficiently and safely in the handling of all furniture. The issue regarded a special request for a specified number of wardrobe boxes, which the dispatcher assured me would be included upon arrival. Unfortunately, there were only two boxes with no rod included. The movers made an alternate suggestion, which was not to my satisfaction, so called dispatch which had additional boxes delivered to my address. Now that's service! read more

I love these guys, had to move quickly out of my one bedroom at 4444 Westheimer, and despite the 600 people who had to leave in the span of a month they fit me in, I had to put my stuff in strpoRage for to months, and took great care of my stuff... Not only that, glass broke in one my art work , and the replaced it immidieatly and called me and delivered it as soon as it when it was replaced ... I like these guys so much, I'm hiring them again for my move at the end of this month... And would recommend to anyone who will listen... :) read more

The move itself was good. My 5-star rating, though, is really for the customer service we got for two problems. Both problems were rare, so I don't expect others to have them. I share them just to show that Move Masters will do what it takes to make the customer happy. The first issue is that my reservation didn't get placed. It turned out the employee who handled my reservation was in the middle of a serious personal crisis at the time. When I noticed I hadn't gotten an email confirmation, I called and found out we weren't on the books. They would've been able to get me in that day for a 1:00 pm start time with no problem, but I needed a 9:00 am start time, and it wasn't available. Within half an hour, I got a call back and they'd scheduled me for 9:00. The second issue was that a medical exam table was placed in the right room but not the right spot. (We were moving a small medical office.) Those tables weigh several hundred pounds. We called the next day -- Sunday -- and Move Masters sent two men that afternoon. They came in, moved it, and left. Five minutes total. We'd use Move Masters again without question. read more

The crew showed up on time, best thing I can say about my experience. Two of the three men on the crew didn't speak any English which is typically fine but we told the supervisor what not to move yet because we have a newborn and needed his essentals. Of course we chased down these items multiple times. At first they were padding and wrapping the furniture, but I noticed that they didn't do that to my son's furniture. Sure thing it fell while being loaded and a drawer fell out and broke. After asking the supervisor why it happened, he said because there were diapers in the drawer! He could have checked if it were that big of a deal, also there was less than 6 in there. Upon arriving at the new address he informed me that he broke our brand new lamp. Conveying where to put things to non English speaking workers was a task. I noticed that the supervisor was working on the legs to my kids play table so I asked him if it was broken. His response "No it wasn't built right, I'm fixing it.". Short time later he advised that it was broken during the move. Now back to that same dresser, while unloading it (if you'd guessed they couldn't handle not breaking it twice you'd be right) dropped and broke two drawers completely. At this point I begin to call this companies management but getting him on the phone would prove as difficult as watching people careless break your belongings. After finally speaking to the manager he told me about their $0.30 per pound insurance policy on our belongings( I should have educated myself prior). The crew supervisor asked if I would be okay with him replacing my broken items rather than filing a claim with the company insurance. He said he would be fired if I did, I don't want for someone to lose their job especially if they will make their mistakes right. I agreed, and haven't heard from him since. I was very disappointed with my experience with Move Masters. I ordered a three person crew and only two men showed up the day of my move. It took the two men over 8 hours to just load my two bedroom apartment. To be fair, the elevator to load was a good distance from my apartment, but that does not justify 8 hours to load a two bedroom apartment. I had to bring in extra help to expedite the process. Without the assistance of extra help, Move Masters would have completed the move in roughly 14 to 16 hours. One of the two original movers that showed up decided he had enough and went home in the middle of the move!! Another laborer was sent and he was minimal help. The whole experience was a total nightmare. In total, I paid over $700.00 to Move Masters to move my two bedroom apartment and that was with the help six other laborers. Two thumbs down and a total rip off. read more

This was by far the worst experience I ever could have imagined for moving. Our appointment time was 10am and our window was 10-12. After multiple back and forth phone calls with the office, the movers finally showed up at 2:40. When they showed up, they didn't even know what they were moving. It took them 3 hours to load a two bedroom apartment on the first floor and then 4 hours to unload at a townhouse (1-2 miles away). The whole process took 7 HOURS - it should not have taken any longer than 4 hours max with 3 men, and they showed up 5 hours after our appointment time. A complete waste of our day and everyone's time. I am really not sure what took so long, but we had 3 movers and sometimes there was only 1 in the house working on things. A lot of the time they were giving us a hard time about going up the stairs at the townhouse. I would never recommend Move Masters to anyone and was extremely disappointed in the professionalism and efficiency of this company. I am never one to write reviews, but this was just such a terrible experience that I couldn't just let it go. The office person that helped me was helpful, but I still had to be the one to call every hour or so when they weren't here asking for an update. Cost wise I think they were reasonable with us and I can't complain about that (as they were working with us for 7 hours), but I would never again use them or tell anyone else to use them because this was the worst moving service. read more

I asked for the same crew to move me to my new place because they were great. I had antiques, pretties, and fragile items. They were speedy (in spite of my disorganization) and careful. I don't have a horror story, but the movers were incredibly slow, making my move much more expensive than it should have been. A move that should have taken 4.5 hours at most took 7.5. Loading a two bedroom townhome with only boxes and one room of furniture onto the truck took four hours. Movers would not hand boxes off to each other or step on or off truck. Instead they rode the slow-moving hydraulic lift on the back of the ruck up and down with each and every box - no matter how small or light. Unloading was faster but only because my boyfriend pitched in and helped. read more

I filled out an online application for ABC Movers and was emailed within 24 hours of an estimate for my move. I went online and filled out their form for what day I need, where I'm moving from and to, size and so on. I was emailed and notified it was set up and fine. About 3 days before my moving day I was called by Bruce, the CEO of Move Masters to get some basic information about my move and that's how I found out ABC Movers was not actually moving me, but a local Houston company was. Nonetheless, I was happy to be contacted. Bruce was incredibly nice, answered all of my questions without hesitation, and supervised my entire move. They come with a 3 hour minimum and I was not charged a minute over 3 hours. The guys that did the move were very nice and very hardworking, and super fast! They wrapped everything in blankets and plastic and were delicate with my TV, glass TV stand, and mattress. I highly recommend this company if you're in Houston and if you pay in cash there's a discount! Call Bruce now! You won't be disappointed! read more
