I looked for who had a good Day Pass and featured Bench/DL platforms in the Social Media posts. (I have been to a lot of sub optimal gyms where I wouldn't feel comfortable hitting a respectable bench there.) Lift STL certainly met my needs. They had many racks & locations to bench press -- no waiting on the sole bench press. They had top notch Sorinex equipment throughout. A wide variety of barbells to meet any specific needs -- including one Strongman log, DBs up to 120#, about all the machines you could need, and lots of turf for conditioning drills. If you need it, they likely have it. Personnel were kind and welcoming & put up with my occasional #OldManNoise while lifting. Facility was clean, easy to get to, & lots of nearby parking.

This place is freaking HUGE and has SO MUCH EQUIPMENT. They have plenty of treadmills in multiple locations (you're nervous about being in the open? No problem they have some in a back room), but I'm more into weights - I love that they have every type of weight to choose from, plenty of racks, AND they have so many individual pieces of equipment. Sometimes free weights/racks make me nervous, so having individual machines is freaking awesome and the ease of use is so much better. They have multiple spaces, including a back room that is pretty secluded which is perfect for new people/for stretching. They also have balls, steps, small weights, etc back there. They truly are an all encompassing gym. My only complaint (some people don't care about this) - it is very overwhelming for women AND for those of us that aren't SUPER fit. I will not come in here without my fiancé because I'm too nervous haha! It's....a lot. There's a lot of really fit people and coming from a small planet fitness, this is a lot to take in. Overall, great location. The equipment seems to be kept up nicely, and there's something for everyone.

However, there are a few things that push me toward switching to somewhere new. -Cleanliness. It just isn't very clean. I see staff cleaning regularly but they seem to focus on the floors. Which is great, but the machines need cleaned as well. There are paper towel dispensers a few places around the gym but they are pretty inconvenient to walk to depending on what you are using. They also produce the smallest, thinnest paper towel so that you really need 3-4 to properly clean with them. I would say about 50% of the time they are out paper towels. And the locker rooms are absolutely disgusting (at least the women's is). Everything from the benches to the stalls and showers needs deep cleaned. There is only 1 soap dispenser that works properly so for months it was the only one shared between 4 sinks. They did begin buying small soap pumps, thank goodness. The showers are straight up nasty, with broken pieces of wall laying around them. Toilets don't all flush properly so usually at least 2/4 of them are clogged or filled. Hand sanitizer on the floor is straight liquid, makes a big mess. -COVID precautions. They are not enforcing masks or social distancing. It is really tough around peak gym times. It gets super crowded, as all gyms do at this time, but is not safe when patrons are not wearing masks or cleaning the equipment.

For nearly $400 a month, I expected a premium fitness club--not an employee-led scavenger hunt…read more Sharon, a personal trainer at LifeTime Fitness in Frontenac, apparently believes that returning equipment to the place it belongs is just a fun suggestion. Members spend enough time working out without having to tour the entire gym looking for equipment that was left somewhere else. When I mentioned that the equipment should be put back where it came from, Sharon's professional response was to tell me to "mind your own business" and that "it doesn't matter" where the equipment is returned. Interesting philosophy. I wonder if LifeTime feels that way, too. You can almost understand when an occasional member leaves equipment lying around. But when it's an employee--someone who's literally being paid to teach good habits--it's a masterclass in hypocrisy. Maybe the next training package should include a session called "How to Return Equipment 101." It's a short class: pick it up, walk it back, and put it where you found it. For a club that markets itself as a luxury fitness experience, I'd expect trainers to set the example--not encourage members to lower their standards. Apparently, "mind your own business" is now considered customer service.

This particular location is only a few weeks old as of June 2016 and is exceptional! From the exterior the gym is highly visible and well lit. Although the strip mall parking lot tends to run at capacity during typical business hours, the end of the lot where the gym is located tends to always have several spots available, parking has yet to have been an issue. The interior is bright spacious and well appointed with a nice selection of Life Fitness cardio machines, Hammer Strength machines, free weights, squat rack, smith and cable machines and the usual appointment of benches, barbells and dumb bells. There is also a section with calisthenics and TRX suspension training exquipment as well as mat and ball training equipment. With all new equipment and a smaller physical footprint than the large warehouse type gyms, anytime fitness is perfect for anyone wanting a more personal, in and out type experience. Staff is friendly and helpful and always available to assist or for training advice during typical business hours. The two managers Emily and Pam are great assets to the facility and are in fantastic shape themselves. It's mentioned on the website that Pam started in fitness with a weight loss journey of her own, losing 150 lbs and has been featured on the Today Show's Joy Fit Club and in Fitness Magazine. Their membership plans are reasonable and right on par with comparable gyms. Currently they are running a no signup fee promotion as well as a free 7-day trial for anyone wanting to try out the facility that maybe interested in membership without making an initial commitment.

I was in the shower area for approximately 40 minutes, which I acknowledge is longer than I should have been. However, I had to use the restroom first, and it took longer than I anticipated. Sometimes you simply don't know what another person may be dealing with, and I believe there should be some understanding in situations like that. At approximately 30 minutes, the employee knocked on the door and asked me to hurry. I did get out shortly afterward. When I came out, there was no one waiting to use the shower, so I was disappointed with the way the situation was handled. Edit after the owner/employee contacted me: After posting this review, I received a phone call from the employee. She called specifically to tell me how long I had been in the shower and informed me that she had blocked my access card from the facility. I had already acknowledged in my original review that I had been there longer than I should have been, so I'm not disputing that. What I do want to clarify is her response regarding the availability of other facilities. There is another women's shower and a unisex bathroom, so my understanding is that there were other restroom facilities available while I was using the shower. I attempted to explain my side of the situation during the phone call, but I was not given an opportunity to do so before the call was ended. I would have been completely willing to have a respectful and reasonable conversation about what happened. I can accept being told that I exceeded the expected shower time. What I found disappointing was the way the situation was handled afterward. There is a difference between enforcing a reasonable facility policy and how you choose to communicate with a customer. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this location.

Minimal thought/ experience required. You don't have to wait for equipment or think about what your next set is going to consist of because they tell you what to do the entire time! Also, if you don't know how to do something- it doesn't matter- because your instructor shows you each move before they expect you to do it. Also, your contract is still not valid as your address in it isn't even where you work out of (I got the return envelope). Thanks, jack-a...Jeremy! Where do I even start. This place deserves zero stars because of Jeremy. Jeremy will talk down to you, talk over you, does not compromise or get the picture. He does not care for his clients and wants it his way or the highway. He will rip you off. BE CAREFUL. I have his contract posted below. Wednesday, my boyfriend and I decided to go into here for a free consultation. He sat down with us (more like my boyfriend, not us because he would hardly talk to me...big macho man ), got right to the point about how his 6 week training program is and blah blah blah. He said it was $499 a person but if we both come in together it's $399 BUT we have to put 1/3 of the money down today. So my boyfriend said sure he'll put his part down and I'll talk to my parents to see if they'll help me out. My parents said they would help out, but not right away, and so my boyfriend had $236 on him and he went ahead and gave him the money and signed his own contract (I never signed one) which doesn't say a start date. Jeremy said if I decide I don't want to come in and do it, then that money would just be for my boyfriend (1/3 of $499 isn't $236 btw, Jeremy). So we left planning on coming in Monday, June 18th. This weekend I had an incident where I fell on my right elbow (swore I broke it) and went to urgent care the next day and thankfully found out it was severely sprained. I talked to my boyfriend and asked if he'd wait until the following Monday so we could do it together, because we wanted to do this together. We live together, it makes sense to only do it together. I did not want to waste my first week of Jeremy's 6 week program with a hurt arm, only being able to do exercises with every other body part. So this morning (Monday, June 18th) we texted Jeremy telling him the situation and asking if he'd let us start Monday. He basically says a sprained elbow is nothing then calls my boyfriend only to try to force him into coming in and asking him who is in charge me or him (my boyfriend)? My boyfriend kept explaining can we just come in as a couple next Monday or no? And he said we can but my boyfriend would not get his 6 weeks but I would (LOLWHAT) then goes on to say this doesn't excuse my boyfriend, he can still come in today regardless of me (which is true) but my boyfriend kept telling him how he wants to do this with me as a couple, again, TOGETHER. Obviously, Jeremy did not get the picture and only cared about money because here we are, out $236 and in a very uncomfortable situation where my boyfriend and I don't ever want to go back to this guy again because why would I want to workout with a guy who only cares about himself and his money. In all honesty, if I was rich, I'd pay you the money not to go to him. Screenshots of his texts follow
