I have the displeasure of coming across Ally when I needed a team to lift my American style fridge-freezer up three flies of stairs. After talking with Ally and agreeing a quote for a job, explaining dimensions, kg, width of our doors, that I need to have it rearranged to be delivered, that it comes delivered by AO, that when I will arrange it I will get a text in the morning of the delivery with a 4hrs time slot and then I will let him know when will the fridge be in. After confirming he is up for the job I have arranged next day delivery. I informed him and repeated that I will not know the time slot until the morning and then I will let him know. He replied: 'Ok I have lots of other jobs too So you know to tell them to leave it outside until we arrive I am going to juggle jobs around just for you But we are expert and can keep everyone happy'. Quite happy by that point, I can obviously understand they have other jobs so I can have the fridge waiting on the ground floor until they have a gap to come and lift it up the stair. The next day in the morning I had AO calling and confirming that the fridge will be delivered between 4pm and 7pm, so I rushed to inform Ally so he knows when to come around and knows what time it will be in etc. Suddenly, I get phone from him and he start to talk to me that it will cost him money, that he told me that whats the delivery drivers are like. (I specified clearly that I will get 4hrs window) He continued that he need to pay wages, that its after 5:30 pm so he has man who are paid 10 12 per/h and that it may cost more. I responded that he gave me a quote (he never mentioned that the cost may change depending on the time of the day) and that's not right to suddenly tell me it will depend how much it will cost. He started getting very rude and abrasive, while I talked he even said 'let me finish' in very rude tone of voice. I pointed this is not very professional as a business owner to act like that and he got to the stage of shouting, rising his voice to me etc. Long story short I ended the call politely and absolutely upset and shocked with the way I was talk to started looking for someone else. Found another contractor in 2hrs, after confirming the job etc I was writing txt to let Ally know. He called me before I send it to him (from different number so clearly thinking I may not pick up) I said I don't need his service anymore, he was trying to be falsely polite saying that he's happy for me. When I also said 'I don't appreciate the way you spoke to me today and find it very unprofessional' he again started shouting, I disconnected immediately, with me and my fiance hearing him shouting 'I don't care what you think!' We couldn't believe how someone can think they can run business like that, shocking. Advice: Get someone else! There is plenty of professional people out there who will stick to their word and a plus they will not abuse you! Save yourself some stress and time. Did an outside work hours removal for me at no extra cost, and actually reduced the quoted price on the day from £65 to £40 as the job was quicker than expected. Van fitted out with padding, straps etc. so it was good to move larger unstable items like bikes. Good service, and took my job at short notice read more

Despite this being listed as closed they aren't I used them a few months ago. Found them on gumtree , price was very competitive, the team where very helpful when discussing my move as wasn't the easiest as were doing a mutual exchange so the team were loading one van as they were loading the other , and vice versa , couldn't compliment them any higher. Just used these guys last week and put a review on freeindex as that's what they use on their website but wanted to let yelpers know as well just how good they are! Value for money second to none - I think you'd be hard pressed to get a cheaper deal in Edinburgh. Worked extremely hard - loaded our two bedroom 5th floor flat into their van in 2 hours flat and we had quite a lot of stuff! Got everything into to our new house in one piece without even scratching a wall, and then built our beds back up for us. Super friendly and polite - made a stressful day far less so. I used move and remove last week to assist with moving flats. I gave them an estimation of my items, which the owner has now decided to remember wrongly despite having proof of my original estimation. Picking up the items was reasonably okay, the owners Son was there and that gave me an idea of the company, he was rude, unsupportive and not very polite. He called the owner (his Dad) who I heard shouting down the phone. He then requested to speak to me and was incredibly rude, talked over me and didn't let me say anything. If it wasn't for the lovely guy with them assisting to load the van i'd have told them to leave. They came unprepared without the card machine, a day early with little notice and no idea of the arrival time for the destination. On the day of transport I enquired about the arrival time of my items and received a very blunt message with a very wrong estimation of 8/9pm, which I thought was a ridiculous time to be delivering furniture. I asked them to keep me up to date closer to the time so my boyfriend knew when to be in the flat. At 820pm, we had still heard nothing so he called the company to find out what was happening to be met with a barrage of abuse from the owner. Who then decided to bitch about me to my boyfriend and telling him his son picked up more than we discussed. He didn't let him talk and accused him of not helping move the items from the van when they hadn't even arrived yet. He was going to help them anyway and hadn't suggested otherwise furthermore he was then hung up on. Eventually when they did arrive it was 11pm. Which is an outrageous time to deliver furniture and boxes, for our neighbours sake. Atrocious company with the worst customer service. I have never in my life been spoken to in such a derogatory and rude manner by a company who I am paying a lot of money too. Bad communication between them selves which I then got the blame for.
