Little Farm Preschool is a magical place. We've been with Little Farm Preschool going on 3 years…read moreand plan on staying with them with my youngest CURRENTLY in the program for another two years. Our family started with the original owners in 2023 & they sold it to a wonderful family that genuinely cares for their staff, our children and families. Yes, the original owners sold it abruptly & that transition was difficult but it was not at the expense of the new owners. The original owners Mrs. Margo & Chrissy did not disclose this to the parents currently enrolled until Feb 2025, when the business was already put up for sale in late 2024. So as parents and even their own staff we were surprised, which was not the new owners fault. They came in very transparent and welcoming and that has not changed since taking over Little Farm Preschoool. However, the new owners made major improvements that created so much physical classroom space, indoor play area and reading nook that has an up to date fire & safety features (which wasn't there before). The new teachers Ms. Gwen & Ms Kolby are AMAZING! The owners and teachers have degrees in Early Child Education and Development with years of experience working with children. Every morning they welcome our little ones with their smiles and warmth the children look forward to their day. The teachers are so nurturing, patient and supportive with separation anxiety or behavioral challenges, which they always communicate with parents through the parent app as a heads up so we can talk about it in person if needed. They truly are so hard working to create such a creative and fun hands-on activities for learning and safe environment for our children. One thing that the new teachers/owners incorporated, which was not done with previous owners was an academic assessment. No pressure on the kid, but teachers are observing & use a simple guideline to measure the children's academic improvement from beginning of the school year and we checked in during the quarter of the year during parent teacher conferences and measure the improvements your child is making. The goal is to make sure the children are ready to enter Elementary school by building the child's confidence knowing their ABC's, recognition of letters, shapes, numbers, etc. through a curriculum that is fun and very effective as the children learn through arts, crafts, music, story time, outdoor play and using their creative minds. In the outdoor space there are goats & chickens and inside the classroom have fish and plants they are responsible in taking turns feeding. Every holiday and birthday is celebrated with so much enthusiasm and excitement. At pick up time you can see the smiles on our children's faces as they show us their projects for the day, tell us about all the fun they had and say good-bye to their friends each day. I can go on and on and rave about Little Farm Preschool and what a wonderful and magical place it is for my children. The new owner Sonam has improved this preschool in so many ways and we look forward to continuing to work with her and their staff in the future.

I wish we had never come to the Little Farm Preschool. It started out fine, but then the original…read moreowners of the school abruptly sold the entire preschool mid-way through the school year, causing a major disruption to the staff and students. They also took the animals with them, defeating the "farm" aspect of the school. They sold the school around February, 2025. So any reviews posted prior to this date should probably be disregarded. Margo and Chrissy do not own the school anymore and have nothing to do with it. After a couple of months under the new ownership, reportedly due to the behavior of the new owners and safety concerns about the new owners, all three of the existing teachers (that our children knew and loved) quit with 5 weeks left in the school year. This is obviously a huge disruption and quite upsetting to the children. The new owners very quickly hired two new "teachers" and had them starting within a week of the previous teachers quitting. I cannot imagine there was enough time for an adequate background check or vetting of these two new employees. The owners were desperate to hire anyone just to keep the school open. The owners are also extremely defensive about the whole situation and refuse to accept any blame or issue any sort of apology or reassurance that the safety concerns in question would be addressed and fixed. The whole environment and vibe of the school is now just negative and toxic so we pulled our child from the school. The owners are also refusing to issue a tuition refund for the last month of school.

As a fellow early childhood educator who has run a childcare program before, when I was looking for…read morea preschool for my son, I knew I wanted a play-based program where my child would have plenty of opportunities to explore and simply have a great time. We came across The Farmhouse School, and I was so excited. The philosophy is exactly what I hoped to find- Play-based, a focus on social emotional wellbeing, open-ended exploration, and great family support. My son had only been with me for his first three years of life, and I wasn't sure how he would take to being away from me, but he's done amazingly well so far. He is excited to go, and even asks to go on the weekend. He always has a big smile on his face while we head to school, and he tells me about how he plays with his friends at pickup. The teachers are all lovely and warm, and are very compassionate. They understand how to work with children and families to ensure the transition from home to school goes well. I can't say enough about the school. It's great, and I wish there were more schools like this in the area so more children could experience what best practices are for this age group!

Some favorite components of the school for my daughter was the rotation of exploratory areas and touch areas. For example, some weeks they have a big bin of leaves and other weeks they have interesting beads, or water play. Some weeks there are tables with writing with interesting things or ways to write your name or guess the smell in the cup. There is even a quaint writing center and student mailboxes for sharing letters. An important component is outside play everday no matter the weather. They have a wonderful outdoor play space complete with garden and live chickens. One of the most important aspects of the school is the teacher interation with the students. For ex: When students are telling a story, the teacher is writing down what they are saying or writes down titles or explanations of the artwork created by the students. The preschoolers feel respected and love that their ideas are seen as important. Last year the students were interested in collectively creating a bug hotel, they worked on this project all year. The teachers helped the students generate lists of what the hotel needed and they were continually creating collaboratively. For a few weeks the students were interested in doing a play so the teachers started writing down their script ideas and in a few days at pick up all the parents got to watch a very charming preschool production on the back porch. When you are thinking about a place to start your child's education, Farm house is a wonderful, creative, and kind place to start.

We toured Legarllitos and were told they had a spot for our son, and the tour went okay - Yessica…read moreis very professional and great at answering all our questions. The biggest red flag to us, unfortunately, was that they hide the teachers and the children from the parents, so there is no visibility into who is taking care of the kids or how they engage with them - and this is a major red flag. Parents are not allowed to see the teachers or children (the doors do not have windows), which meant we had no visibility into who would actually be caring for our child or how they interact with the kids throughout the day. Although we appreciated the emphasis on cleanliness (such as requiring outside shoes to be removed) and the organized classrooms with quality toys, the most important factor in any childcare setting is the caregiver -- and we were given no opportunity to meet or learn anything about the teachers. Two days after the tour, we followed up via email with reasonable questions about who our child's teacher would be, how drop-off and pick-up are handled, and whether parents have any visibility into teacher-child interactions. In response, we were told they were no longer able to accommodate our son. The timing made it feel as though simply asking questions about their staff and practices was unwelcome. A lack of transparency around the people responsible for our child's care is a major red flag, and ultimately pushed us over the edge with feeling very uncomfortable moving forward with this center.

She gave the same excuses over and over for why she needed to cancel, and in the same breath said she could come in 15 minutes later and then repeatedly told me how they were not enrolling any new children while at the same time explaining the curriculum for the school? I asked her if there was a point in touring and asked when they were expecting to start enrollment again. After listening to her say the same things over and over for over 20 minutes, she let me know that she could hear the frustration in my voice, so we wouldn't be a good fit. I think this was a blessing in disguise. *** UPDATE *** Rocio then thought it was a great idea to call me again and left me a VM to harass me. Not okay.
