This school has done a fantastic job of creating a trustworthy and inclusive community among parents and staff. Everyone is just lovely and supportive. The curriculum is uniquely and carefully carved out for each class. The weekly updates are adorable. They are proactive with checking in on each child and sending updates. Regular celebrations and community events. This school is simply wonderful and we are happy to be here.

The Orchards Childcare and Preschool is better than I could have imagined a childcare center could…read morebe. I currently have my two children enrolled at the Orchards. I am particularly impressed with how the caregivers and teachers take a genuine interest in the progress and lives of each of the children in their class. Whenever I've had questions, the Orchards Director has been easy to reach and prompt in her responses. The classrooms have been recently renovated and are kept clean. There is a good variety of age appropriate and safe toys in all of the classrooms. Security is well maintained with video monitoring, keypad access to facilities and fenced outdoor play areas. I love the phone application that they use for the secure check in and out procedure, as well as the photo updates throughout the day. Their Junior Kindergarten class is quite robust in its educational curriculum. The lead Junior Kindergarten teacher has been teaching young students for over 20 years, I believe. I'm honestly impressed at the progress my four year old has made behaviorally and educationally. They also have done a great job at offering events throughout the year. Kids Christmas program, picture days, Easter egg hunts, "pumpkin patch" etc. I couldn't recommend the Orchards more.

Watching his growth over these past few months has been amazing, and we owe so much of that to the wonderful, caring staff. When he first started, it was a big transition--he had been home with me since birth, and adjusting to a new environment and new caregivers was tough. He cried a lot and had trouble napping at first. But the staff was so patient and gentle with him through it all. Their support and consistency helped him feel safe and loved, and it made all the difference. Now, he's excited to go to school--he even runs into the classroom and forgets to say goodbye! As a parent, there's nothing better than knowing your child feels happy, secure, and cared for. If you look at the staff picture wall by the entrance only a handful of teachers have been there longer than a year. We also noticed that staff can be very stressed at times due to being shuffled around from class to class. We finally left (intending it to be temporary) due to our second child being born. Our son had his pictures taken right before we gave our notice and requested to purchase it as well but we never heard back after multiple attempts. TL:DR Depending on the teacher that you have your experience can vary by a lot. If management can do a better job with keeping the staff less stressed/happy I don't think we would hesitate with coming back.

The school has been around for 70 years and for good reason! There is so much love and care. Every time I drop off my child, I know this is a place of love, safety, and intentionality. Every classroom is different and caters to students as a whole and individually. My child was one of the oldest kids and the teacher taught her leadership skills, and helpfulness with younger children. I loved the way the teacher helped my daughter solve problems. Whenever there was a small issue, it never felt like a big deal because it was solved in the classroom, and my child felt empowered to learn how to solve her own problems in a loving way. I would recommend Highlands Preschool to all families!

In the infant room he would always be so excited to see his teachers every morning, practically launching himself out of my arms reaching for them. And after a short adjustment period he is now doing the same to all his teachers in the toddler room! We have been super happy to see how well the teachers here have supported his development, helping him with everything from the major motor milestones like sitting, crawling and cruising, to things like using a sippy cup or handling a spoon. They also regularly share pictures in Tadpoles so we can see him playing with his friends, and even in the infant room would send home fun holiday crafts they did together in class. I also really appreciate that we actually feel like everyone knows us here - Miss Forozan is really hands on as Director. She's also organized fun community events for everyone, and sends out regular weekly updates. The teachers and staff here are all absolutely wonderful, we could not have asked for a better group of folks to trust with loving and taking care of our baby!

I loved being home with them and didn't think I needed preschool. Co op allowed me to maintain some control (parents volunteer their time in class) and learn much more than I thought possible from my peers and from the teachers. It was a real eye opener for me. My son ended up at TCP for his last two years before kindergarten. It was a rich and rewarding experience that I recommend to anyone who has the flexibility to do it. She got hit by someone or she hit someone else? An accident report is filled out, and/or you are notified if there is a bigger issue. 3)The teachers are very approachable and WANT you to work with them in helping with your child. You don't just walk in and walk out without discussing the day. (Doesn't make sense if there are rules in one place and not the other...) there is a consistency and fluidity...potty training has been a snap with the positive reinforcement she receives at "school". 4) she is excelling quite beyonce her years and is learning SO MUCH about being social, sharing, being polite, etc. My Father was so impressed with the place he wanted to buy stock in it...too bad they are not publicly traded. My final thought on this place is that they focus on the WHOLE child, and not ignoring them and their play. There is no TV watching! There is Music, creative and structured play, art and sensory projects...all of this will lead up to my daughter being MORE than ready for Kindergarten, when the time comes.

My son absolutely adores all his teachers from his classroom (shout out to Mr. Jerry and Ms. Amanda!) including "the farmer" Ms.Chellas and outdoor ed teacher Mr. Alex. They are so kind and knowledgeable. Everyone is Montessori certified and the staff is all amazing. They truly care for the overall wellbeing of your children! We've attended the early childhood program and summer camp. Highly recommend both!
