The chiropractor (Dr.T) takes a very holistic approach to helping his patience feel better. So, it makes total sense that his treatment is complemented by the easy access to a whole range of different yoga classes. They offer everything from restorative yoga to special yoga sessions for prenatal yoga. Whether you are a beginner or you consider yourself a seasoned practitioner, you will definitely find a class that suits you. I love the beginner yoga class! The studio is warm and inviting and all of the instructors are patient. While they each have their own unique style, they all make the practice accessible to anyone, regardless of your skill level. During the pandemic, due to restrictions to in person classes, they have been offering virtual classes. I think it is awesome that they found a way to continue to offer yoga to so many people. In fact, it provides the opportunity for so many of us to participate that might not otherwise be able to go to the studio. If you want to try yoga for the first time, or you're looking for a new place to practice, definitely check them out. You will not regret it!

The first two sessions I took were all-levels yoga flow and the third was therapeutic power flow. I consider myself an advance beginner and I found the classes appropriate, with my preference for therapeutic power flow. A note to beginners, there were no adjustments made by instructors so I don't recommend either for first timers. I found the studio a bit cold/sterile. My regular studio is warm and smells wonderful of essential oils and incense. I will be back. It served my need to practice while away from home.

It's been awhile since I got a brazilian since I jst moved to Maryland a year ago and the experience with the first person out her I went to was not pleasant. but Christina was sooo awesome! I wanted a nice experience with a thorough, quality facial because the winter did quite a number on my face and I find the solo practitioner esthetician to be a bit more clinical and thorough, while still providing a tranquil environment. LOCATION: So first let me tell you...being new to Maryland I'd never heard of Old Savage Mill where the spa is located.  It's a quaint, older, historical revamped building that I believe used to be a textile plant.  There is ample parking.  Old savage Mill has little clusters of private shops. The shops are unique shops such as photography studios, hair salons and antique shops. It really is an enjoyable experience - you almost feel like you are on a field trip.  I had time to kill before I was able to get an appointment so it was great to explore.  I even bought a few items! Zen is a little tricky to find within the compound. The layout of the shopping area is unique.  It is split up into little buildings with different names.  Skin Zen is located in the "Spinning Building." The best way to get there is to find the "New Weave" building, make a left, go through the double glass doors, make another left, follow though and make a left at the wedding dress shop, go past the restaurant and make another left, and Zen is down the hall to your left.  If you have to use the rest room there are many within the building but not in Christina's private section, as the building is not designed that way so just go before you get to your appointment and disrobe.  Not a big deal abut I figure useful information. ESTHETICIAN: Christina is very nice! I was a walk in and she was able to accommodate me within one hour. The setup is perfect. She has a receiving area and a private back room where she provides services.  Christina gives you a form to fill out about your history and inquiring about your concerns.  She then speaks with you to review the information.  She then examines you and goes over what she feels will be best for you.  She does not pressure or upsell.   After my consult I decided to go for the H2o Oxygen facial. She is very knowledgeable about skin. I am an African-American woman and I was impressed that she made it a point to talk about the things unique to darker pigments.  For example, she explained how extractions with too much pressure may scar my skin type and she would take great care to avoid that. That is always comforting and it let me know I was dealing with a knowledgeable esthetician. She is very friendly and you immediately feel at ease. She will follow your lead with conversation.  She is very detailed and takes her time.  It was a relaxing experience. She even gave me a great shoulder hand and arm massage - giving me the option to choose between hands or feet.  Normally estheticians just leave you in the room, with a mask. Not Christina...she uses that time to provide an added extra benefit of a shoulder hand or shoulder massage included in the service.  Devine!   She accurately knew where my tension was and gave me some advice, admitting that she was not a massage therapist but she had some great suggestions.  RESULTS Christina sent me home with a post treatment package included in my service.  She explained how to keep up the treatment.  She did not heavily push the products just but explained each one she used. I ended up buying two from the organic line of the products she uses. All together I spent about $190.00 dollars.  I feel it was money very well spent. My face is heavenly! Smooth and bright.  It is indeed one of the very best facials I have EVER received and I have gone to many ritzy downtown Manhattan spas.  This facial easily outdoes them all.  She hit all the areas I had issue with. Though I felt I needed many extractions and all types of steam she explained that she tailored to the client's needs and I did not need that.    Don't you just love when we come in telling professionals what we need? LOL I had to laugh at myself when I went home. She was right.  My face is beautiful and clear and where normally I would have some sensitivity and redness after a facial. I have none. And to top it off I woke up this morning and my hands and arms were UNBELIVABLLY soft.  I mean unrealistically so. I kept touching myself.  LOL So I have to call her back today to see what she used on my shoulder, arm and hand massage. So I say all of this to say you will not regret going to Skin Zen Spa!

I'm talking throw me into the mouth of a fire breathing dragon, allow me to suffer a bit, sometimes tease me with a breath of fresh air, allow me to continue melting, and throw some positivity in to keep me from completely sputtering out. Thankfully, Breathing Dragon lives up to its name. This delightful hot yoga studio, which was converted from a core power yoga studio, has everything I need to be happily at home. Breathing Dragon IS absolutely hot. While a hot yoga room is ideal, teaching is VERY important to me. Mori, the owner, is exceptional!!! She is, what I would refer to in the yoga world, a Master Teacher. She is extremely knowledgable about the body, the yoga practice, has over 20 years of teaching experience, and radiates positive energy. She has funny jokes, inspiring quotes, and advanced corrections which is particularly important to someone like me who has almost 22 years of yoga practice. She walks around with a ruler, ensures proper alignment, and provided me with hands on corrections, which I just adore. Thank you, Mori. Her rays of sunshine alleviated (some of) my suffering - after all, I chose to practice in the hottest spot in the room (far left when facing the mirror). Mori did kindly advise me of that spot, but I love a challenge. Let me say, Mori's class is a pleasant challenge. I have practiced at 100s of studios around the US and other countries. I have very high standards. Mori meets Every Single One of them. Would I practice here again? Absolutely. The studio has showers, lockers (bring your own lock), towels/mats for rent, and cubby holes for shoes at the door. Mori of Breathing Dragon has fostered a beautiful community of welcoming practitioners. If you move to downtown Baltimore or just passing through and want to make friends or just simply meet quality humans, practice at Breathing Dragon.
