We just closed on our first house last week, and I feel SO FORTUNATE to have found Maureen!! She is a mastermind of the mortgage lending process! I don't think I've ever met someone who is so hardworking with such high standards. Even better, Maureen upholds the same high standards for every one else involved in the lending process (escrow company, lenders, realtors, etc.) and she is constantly 2 steps ahead and prepared for anything, with a back up plan "just in case" to ensure everything goes through seamlessly. As a first time homebuyer initially unfamiliar with the process, I now know I threw a couple curve balls and Maureen didn't even bat an eye. As if all that wasn't enough, I also had no idea where to start when looking for a good realtor. Maureen suggested a few she has worked with in the past that she thought were really good, and she did not disappoint. I ended up choosing Melissa Tucci as my realtor, who was just as amazing as Maureen, and the two of them working together turned into an unstoppable powerhouse that could move mountains and get a deal done! If you're looking for a mortgage broker who will take care of you like family and go above and beyond, look no further. You will not be disappointed!

Giving five stars and a glowing review is simply not enough to express how happy we were to work…read morewith The GreenHouse team. As first time home buyers, we had no idea where to start. We were also out of state which made everything that much more difficult. I'm a big Yelp user and relied on the hundreds of other 5-star reviews to look for a real estate company. I was so impressed with Craig and Jesse from the start. The initial call was SO organized, thorough, and personal. Not only did they give us a incredibly detailed step-by-step guide of the buyer's process, but also spent the time to learn more about us as people and what we were looking for in a home. I was surprised my how much time and energy was invested before even signing any contracts with them. After meeting with a few different teams, we chose the GreenHouse Group and 100% stand by our decision! Communication was consistently strong and we were always in contact with someone/the entire team along the way. We worked with Lori & Alexa who also helped us navigate documents and important deadlines. The GreenHouse Group has a well-designed platform to track the home buying process--making it easy to see deadlines and to-dos. We worked with Craig for our Kick-Off Tour. The GHG evaluation system for homes captured everything important to consider when purchasing a home and we learned so much about what to look for when checking out a home. Craig was straight-up, incredibly knowledgable, and clearly looking out for our best interest. He took us to see quite a number of homes that day and even had snacks and waters to keep us going! Unexpectedly, and uncommonly, we found a home from that weekend's trip we wanted to put an offer on. Craig jumped right in and guided us through the 'make-an-offer' process. He worked incredibly hard to negotiate on our behalf and was able to coordinate inspections and video walk-throughs for us when we couldn't be physically present. We were always promptly and transparently well-informed and advised. We never felt pressured or persuaded to make any decisions. Craig and the GHG team presented the facts and gave recommendations based on 20+ years of company experience--always looking out for our best interest. They were 'real' and weren't out to "sell us" on anything. Even during the rent-back process, the team coordinated with the other realtor to work with the sellers on transitions and key dates. It was super fun when Jesse and Lori were already at the house when we arrived to pick up our keys--what a thoughtful surprise! To top it off, they came with a whole container of new home goodies and essentials for us to use while we settled in (and even had some for our dog!) The care box was super useful, especially when we didn't have any of our kitchen items yet! Even after the sale and getting our keys, the GHG team is still there to answer your questions and help you out--including a list of recommended contractors and other services you might need when moving into a new home. I'm sure I am forgetting something here, but needless to say, we 10/10 recommend the GreenHouse Group to anyone looking to buy (or sell!) a home. We have no regrets and could not have asked for a better team. Thank you GHG!

I pointed out their errors, and after they "asked underwriting" they confirmed that I was, in fact, correct (fairly basic stuff like how to handle a rental property mortgage). This took about a week or two. I already had concerns at that point since these were fairly basic mistakes, but I decided to press forward after assurances from the owner. Then they sent my file over to their main loan processor, who basically started over, which struck me as inefficient to do all this analysis twice, but whatever. After another week or two, she comes back with numbers that were better, but still could not be correct. I explain my calculations and simply ask if they will share the numbers...basically what income and what expense numbers they have for me, so that we can work together and figure out where the error or misunderstanding is. For whatever reason, they flat-out refuse to share these numbers, even though we already had some errors on the first go-around. Ridiculous excuses like "I calculate it all by hand and don't have time to send it to you". Really?? You're working up my numbers on the back of a napkin? In frustration I reach out to the owner again, and he promises me he'll get me the numbers. But his employee, who's repeatedly refused to give me the numbers, apparently also won't give him the numbers, because his repeated promises to get me this info have gone nowhere and he's now left me high and dry with zero communication for several days now. The loan processor also will say one thing, like "we'll need 9-12 months of bank statements", meanwhile the owner tells me "we'll only need 3". So between flat-out incompetence, broken promises, inconsistent answers, and refusal to share basic info with me, I threw in the towel after wasting a month with these guys. I already started the process with a new mortgage broker who reviewed my info and confirmed my suspicions that Shaffer was not calculating my numbers correctly. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
