I had a large old cottonwood that needed to be removed. They gave me an estimate very quickly. Responsive and reasonable in value. I had to utilize another company because I needed it removed sooner than they were able to get to it because I had an upcoming medical issue. We have been using Mt. View Tree Service for over 9 years. They have removed and trimmed so many trees I couldn't count them all. They really helped us after the ice storm and pruned many of our ancient oak trees. Removing many widow makers and repairing damaged limbs. ( we have 18 acres of oaks) We tried another company down in Corvallis on a rental property..never again!! I had some very large snags in the trees above my property. These snags would have caused major damage to my home and possibly injuring someone who was in yard. They came out for a VERY reasonable price and got all these snags out. Johnny who was in the trees was amazing!! and made sure he got all the snags we were concerned about. Royal and Fernando on the ground crew were amazing as well. They made sure none of those large limbs hit our home and even the flower beds below. They did such an amazing job of cleaning up before they left, if you didn't look up into the trees, you would never know they were there. Great work done over the summer trimming several trees in my back yard, including some very large overhang branches. Work was quick and they cleaned up nicely afterwords. I will use them again when it comes time to trim and possibly remove another tree. read more

The two guys who came to do the work hustled and were polite. I tipped them on completion. It might have been better if I hadn't. First, they chipped up a pile of large branches from which I had plucked the thin branches because thin branches don't chip well. The chips from my branches, added to material already in their truck, they dumped in the backyard. But their previous load was not all chips. Far from it. There were lots of thin branches that remained long and, when mixed with the chips, made pitchforking the chips into a wheelbarrow frustratingly difficult. And worse than that, their "chips" contained hundreds of apples which I had to pull from the pile so they would not attract rats and voles. In the pile of chips were also trash and logs that they had not even tried to chip. It has taken me at least twice as long to distribute the chips as it should take. They should have told me they had crap in the truck and then not chipped my sorted branches on top of it. On the office end: I was told I would receive a call the day before the crew was to arrive and given a time of arrival. I was not called. I had to call them. They sounded disorganized. But worse than that, the day after the work was performed, the office called me DURING DINNER HOUR and asked for a favor. I was taken aback; a vendor was asking me for a favor! And what was that favor? They wanted me to email my friends recommending them. I thought, "you gotta be kidding" and hung up . . . and this was before I realized how difficult they had made the distribution of the chips. read more

The crew of Kyver, Johnny and Jesus did an outstanding job in taking out three trees on my property. The were very professional making sure that they did not impact my property or my neighbor's property while they did their work. They cleaned up the area after they were done. I would have given them 5 stars except that they cancelled their first appointment time at the last minute. read more

We just bought a house in Beaverton will a giant curly willow that was taking over the yard and lifting the sidewalk. We called Mountain View Tree Service after reading their reviews we hired them to remove the tree. They couldn't have be nicer, more professional or proficient. They came ready to get the job done with great equipment and super nice guys. To finish the job they came a few weeks later to grind the stump. Very excellent job! read more

Bravo! I obtained quotes from two services, and Mountain Views was more economical for better service. We took down a diseased cedar tree -- it was sad! The crew arrived on time and got to work so quickly my head spun. They were pleasant but focused, very professional and took that 30+ foot tree down in minutes. The brush was cleared and chipped, the trunk was cut into rounds for firewood, and the debris was removed from the lawn. Another crew came back later (some time later as it was hard for me to reschedule, but this was my availability issue, not theirs) and ground the stump. Again, fast, professional, friendly. This is a combination review of my experience and my spouse's experience with Mountainview. I had called around to few tree services in the area to drop a huge nuisance tree in my back yard. Mountainview wasn't my first choice, but it should have been. I originally scheduled Mike's Tree Service to do the job- big mistake! Not only was the communication and scheduling absolutely WEIRD with them, but on the day they came out he called me and stated that he didn't think he could do the job for the agreed on price! So, I called Mountainview, and they were professional, scheduled me in quickly, and arrived on time on the day they stated. From here, I'm going by what my wife told me as I wasn't home for the service. My wife stated that the two young men who did our job were super polite, professional, and had the tree down in a reasonable amount of time. They introduced themselves when they arrived, and notified her when they were done. All-in-all they did a super job and I'm very pleased! read more

Mountain View Tree Service were prompt in responding to our request for a quote to do some major pruning on a large mimosa tree in our back yard as well as maintenance pruning of large rhododendrons, various azaleas, Portugese laurel, etc. We were very pleased with the crew's work and attention to detail and their ability to put all of the branches in their chipper. Mountain View is THE BEST of the best. We had a 150' Douglas Fir uproot and lean over our house in a windstorm. Within 3 hours of my initial call, we had an evaluation, an estimate and a team mobilized for an extremely dangerous job. The tree was in a location that was inaccessible to cranes or other large machinery. MVT put together an expert plan on securing the tree and had it de-limbed and topped the first day, working after dark. The professionalism, skill, stamina, and knowledge of everyone on the team was unbelievable. Alan, the climber, spent 2 days in the tree, precisely cutting, roping and working out the physics of the fall. The team on the ground removed huge chunks with care and efficiency. Remarkably there was no damage to our property and the crew left the jobsite all cleaned up and even put back a fence they had to remove for access. Mountain View did a large clearing project at our farm and they were amazing - second vote for the honest trustworthy and stick to their word, stand up folks. It wasn't an easy job and they got it done in time for our tenant farmers to get in and plant wheat. They went on to remove a large fir from a residential property in Portland in a tricky spot and pruned a friend's two diseased chestnuts - all good in a variety of situations - hire these guys they do a great job for the right price. read more

Recently they removed a problematic Oak Tree at my mothers home. The old oak was a mess with numerous large branches and straddling the property line with a neighbor and right next to moms house. There was a fence directly underneath as well as a row of arborvitae that could not be harmed. They did a marvelous job with both mom and the neighbors impressed . They left the area and the grounds cleaned and looking better than when they arrived. This is the second job I have been involved with with Mountain View and the second one they impressed. Mountain View Tree Service pruned a very large and overgrown variety of cherry tree and topped an arborvitum. They were respectful of our neighbor's yard where a number of branches were hanging and cleaned up very well. They asked how we wanted the tree pruned and made suggestions before starting to make sure that we were on the same page. The three guys showed up right one time. Got right to work wasting no time. Few hours into it they were short 1 guy but the 2 hustled through the job. If your tree is worth money, they have an avenue to earn you money, or help with the cost of removal. These guys are great. They charged less than the competition, took lots of time to explain the tree-trimming options, and left the trees looking good. When I asked the crew leader to leave some branches for my landscaping project, he took a good look at what I was doing and brought me the right ones -- no extra charge.
