I came to a psychiatric appointment, was there early, and was taken back to see my doctor through telemedicine. I waited for 45 minutes, and the doctor never talked to me. I was already extremely stressed and was relying on that session to unload some of the things I'm going through, and then him not showing up made me feel rejected, like I'm not important enough for my doctor to care about my mental health. The nurse came in, saw me crying, and asked if I had seen the doctor. She seemed confused that I had not been seen and never asked if I was okay. THE SECURITY GUARD ASKED IF I WAS OKAY. THE NURSE DID NOT. WHAT? As I've tried to reach out to them for answers and resolution, they have avoided my calls, ignored my voicemails, and have refused to call me back. We found out from the Medical Director that the nurse was supposed to inform my doctor that I was present, and she failed to do that. My doctor was ready and waiting, and so was I, and nothing happened. They said they would call me back to reschedule, but that didn't happen until after we lodged complains with their front desk and MD. I give this establishment a negative one million out of 10 and if you plan on getting mental health assistance there, abandon all hope.

We have been with Ponderosa Pediatrics (Dignity Health) for over 10 years, but because our kids are…read morehealthy and because of our past experiences, we would rather keep our distance. The medical staff there is good enough and generally well-intended (so far as we know), and we've overall had good experiences with Dr T (a woman doctor who I presume still works there). Other visits were less impressive, with friendly but limited PAs basically saying (about a dermatological issue), "Gosh, no idea! You should see a dermatologist." (We were charged over $100 for that). I do feel that once Dignity Health came to town, the service has degraded (become more money-hungry). Each visit results in months of contested billing. I'll share two more examples: - Two kids each on a same insurance policy for wellness visits through telehealth (during the pandemic) with Dr. T. Appointments literally back to back (same video call... just we moved the camera from one kid to the other). Neither kid had been to any doctor that year previously. One kid was $0 (insurance covered 100% of wellness visits), and the other kid was charged $200. Took nearly a year and so many phone calls to have them remove the charge finally. NOTE: I'm not blaming them for making a mistake. I'm just blaming them for not coming clean for so many months after learning they made the mistake. Eventually, a supervisory person agreed and dropped the charge. - Last fall: The kid went in for a wellness visit (100% covered by insurance). She's asked a paint-by-number list of questions about chest pains. "Well, sometimes when I work out, I feel some chest pain." That triggered a "LOW 20-min" office visit charge of $55.75 (not covered). It felt like a predatory move... because my 16-year-old (and I) did not know that such a response would trigger an uncovered expense... but I presume that they did. Had they followed up with more questions or concerns, or brought in a doctor for consultation, or ran an EKG or something, I'd assume that they cared. But, without such follow-up (except for the charge), I felt that it was predatory. I'm contesting this now and hunkering down for the long-haul (based on past experiences). So, okay medical engagement mixed with what feels like predatory coding/billing adds up to a negative experience for us. Sadly, I have two choices now: Advise the children never to answer a doctor's questions honestly lest they be charged (later in life), OR keep it from them and let them learn that ugly (USA-specific) lesson for themselves. If only healthcare had something to do with health... or care.... (I am generally the sort to write reviews when I feel a 5-star is warranted. So, such a negative review is relatively out of character for me. Just saying. I'm vacillating between a 3-star (to be more fair-minded in case our situation is anomalous) or a 2-star to reflect how I actually feel...) I wish there were other pediatricians in the neighborhood. HEY! All you pediatricians out there... we are eager for you to set up practice here! I hope this helps.... somehow.

I had a very uncomfortable experience with a physician assistant at this facility. During our…read morevisit, I felt there was significant pressure placed on my 19-year-old regarding medical decisions for her child, particularly around vaccinations. The conversation did not feel balanced or respectful of our questions and concerns. What made the situation more concerning was that after I expressed my perspective, the physician assistant touched my leg in a way that felt inappropriate and dismissive, then attempted to brush it off. This crossed a clear personal boundary and made us feel uncomfortable. Patients and family members deserve to feel respected--both in communication and in physical boundaries. This experience did not reflect that standard.

She was extremely uncommunicative throughout, she would move our son around but wouldn't discuss his condition or what the exercises were that she was doing. By the third session I had to insist that she teach me the exercises and she responded 'oh ok, I guess I could show you if you want.' We finally got an appointment with Cranial Technologies in Phoenix. Their PT showed us a series of exercises, let us know that we should have been doing exercises 3-5 times a day and that our son should be doing an hour of tummy time or more a day. We were pretty shocked that Jodi had failed so completely to demonstrate exercises or express how often we should be doing them. Do not go to Jodi Gilray. She is unprofessional and cannot communicate basic instructions. If your child has torticollis, just go to Cranial Technologies in Phoenix. They give free assessments and their Physical Therapists are professional and attentive, miles beyond what they have at Jodi's office
