When I got out I had no energy. Dr Chapek and The Tukwilla Amen clinic did 2 brain scans and supported me in blood testing for deficiencies. Dr Chapek helped me get off all the meds and switched me to amino acids, increased my vitamin D which lifted my depression. Adjusted a hormone imbalance which regained my lack of energy. I'm anxiety and depression free and my ADD is under control. The Amen Clinic and Dr Chapek has taught me so much about brain health. The have vast array of books, videos to read and watch. I am forever grateful for bringing back my life that was almost lost. The office is sharp and professional. and they collobarated with me to find solutions.

First of all, let me just say that just because the Amen clinic was not a good solution for us, it…read moremay very well be the solution some people are looking for. The office staff, Ruchika, was AMAZING and on the ball when helping clients. We saw Dr Mona Karimpour who is knowledgable and initially got back to our questions within 24 hours. Getting appointments became trying. The average wait time was 3 months, and we could not even expect our insurance to cover the hefty bills. We were also given access to a naturopathic doctor, but sadly, even though I knew Dr Chapek did his absolute best, the labs he ordered did not address my son's extreme fatigue. He stated it was mast cells and prescribed us Quercetin to help with this. My son took it religiously for three months, as prescribed, but he was still wiped out. Dr Karimpour seemed to think, based on the SPECT scans, that the fatigue was caused by PTSD and recommended EMDR therapy, which sadly only marginally worked. Fast forward three months, a parent (a parent, mind you, NOT a doctor) suggested I screen my son for PANS/PANDAS, an autoimmune disease with severe neuropsychiatric implications. We contacted a doctor knowledgeable in the field who ran tests that indicated my son's cortisol level was only half of where it should be (explaining the extreme fatigue), and also an antibody panel that indicated he had a subclinical presentation of STREP. A few days on antibiotics, and my son is already showing better energy level and focus. Granted, this condition is still heavily researched and still, there are doctors who refuse to acknowledge the link between infections and neuropsychiatric conditions. Having spent a hefty 6000 dollars for brains scans that only scratched the surface of the problem was certainyl not worth it. What's worse though, is the ARROGANCE of doctors who yell at parents about being "board-certified" instead of listening to parent concerns and encouaring open communication. Would I recommend the Amen clinic? If you are only facing a simple condition, sure why not, but for a complex condition we are faced with...not a chance.

I was paired with someone who felt like the first therapist in a long time where I didn't have to spend multiple sessions "bringing them up to speed." Sadly, they retired just six months after my transfer. I was then assigned to a supervisor. They were generally good when they could attend the session. However, this individual increasingly had to pause the session to "attend to other emergencies." They often promised to return in five minutes but would disappear for the rest of the session, leaving me hanging. Other times, this therapist would call last minute to cancel and reschedule. When I returned their message with my availability, I would receive no response. Then, a week or two later, they would call on the scheduled day and time, apologizing for attending to other clients and acting as if my needs were unimportant. Then, I needed to take a break, and when I returned, Sound stopped billing my insurance and demanded a credit card payment instead. After several days over three months, I found out they weren't even attempting to bill my insurance. When my insurance contacted Sound's Accounts Billable department, calls and messages went unanswered, while invoices demanding immediate payment for previous services piled up. The few times I managed to reach someone there, I was treated as if I was the one with the issue and that Sound had done everything possible to assist me. have engaged in enough personal work to understand "Gaslighting" and can assert with complete certainty that the staff at Sound are unqualified, unprepared, and incapable of helping anyone with behavioral health concerns. Their entire approach seems to convey a positive image of assistance, yet the reality is that the work environment is chaotic, toxic, and primarily concerned with financial gain rather than patient welfare. Honestly . . . IF I found myself in crisis, Sound would be the last option I would consider for help. You could achieve more by looking up information online or viewing a YouTube video than relying on any professional support from Sound.

I remember two occasions: The first one was when I went to the Tukwila location. The counselor or whomever she was, was eating her lunch as she was doing my accessment. Now I'm unsure but I was raised that you do not eat in front of someone & its just unprofessional. The woman whose name I can't remember then would ask me asinine question about a comic strip cartoon. A little bit scary for me. I hold people in the mental health field to a higher standard & so far she did disappoint me. The 2nd occasion: Happened at the Sound Behavioral located in Bellevue. This particular appt was booked out 1 month in advance. The student therapist had kept on me about showing up for my appt. The day of the appt arrives & I arrive at said appt about 15 min early. I check in at the reception desk, I remember the reception then received a call from the Doctor who was assigned to give me my accessment. The Doctor canceled my 9AM appt w/o apology, w/o explanation. The reception was well she seemed at a loss on what to do or how to comfort me. I was extrememly upset. Unprofessional. I complained to the higher up's but they didn't accept accountability & turned it around to make it my fault! Really Sound? It's no wonder its a mess up in Seattle/Bellevue. This is real risky as a highly intelligent somewhat function person with an illness you really need to regroup & figure out a way to improve. I now pay out of pocket for my mental health care b/c hardly anywhere accepts insurance but my care is better. Sound is terrible grade: F.

I spoke with the IV nurse Debbie who offered great treatment details but was transferred back to the front reception for pricing and procedures about scheduling. I called back next day to schedule - again I had to call several times since they don't often answer phones after noon. The rudest receptionist answered and rambled off details about getting a referral from my previous doctor for UBI. It was the opposite of what I was told the day before. I asked her to repeat herself and got a big sigh. She didn't give me her name and rushed off the phone - beyond unprofessional! It's sad that potentially great doctors have such bad front office staff... and often never see or read reviews that could help to improve these issues.

Additionally, after a very expensive appointment and detailed discussion regarding several serious health issues I'm dealing with, he only ordered a basic blood panel. I was treated very poorly by his medical assistant (Rama) for trying to include more tests (which later proved beneficial) in my lab order. Some of the front office staff members were extremely rude and unprofessional and Dr. Wright's assistant (Virginia) was snooty and unhelpful when I requested her help. According to front office staff, Dr. Wright said I was not allowed to see any doctors there in the future (apparently based upon whatever they told him). Really a bad experience with this group and their unprofessional and unethical practices. UPDATE: I found out after I left a review of my experience on Tahoma Clinic's Facebook page that they immediately removed the entire section of reviews. This just seems to support my opinion that some of them are unethical and want to hide their poor behavior.
