However, the staff and administrators helped us all get through in the best possible way. He had excellent care from the staff. They made sure they did everything possible to make him comfortable. They were kind, compassionate, caring, patient and competent. His room and private bath were large, private with plenty of light and always clean. Meals were good and special diet needs were accommodated.The administrators were knowledgeable and flexible. Hawthorn felt like a home not an institution. If you are in need of memory care for a loved one Hawthorn is a place to visit and consider seriously.

I needed Help "helping" my Dad. It's been almost 3 years now and I can show up any time of day or night and "catch" them being kind and compassionate and "on the job" with him even though he now requires almost constant care and supervision. Under Ryan Love's leadership the staff has made it as easy and painless as they can to help me face and make Tough Decisions as we progress along the memory loss path. The kitchen puts out restaurant quality food - it looks good, smells good, tastes good and has as much nutrition as they can pack in there to support the health and well being of the residents. The facilities team is vigilant about small and large projects and never make you feel like your request is an imposition. The transportation that is made available brings peace of mind when as a working adult you cannot always be there in the middle of the day for appointments. The healthcare team is responsive and supportive with "no judgement". I have had uncomfortable conversations with them and felt completely respected and accepted. They partner with the community to host children, youth and other civic minded groups to come in and interact/entertain the residents. This link to the world outside the 4-walls is so important and enjoyable for everyone involved.

She didn't even have the decency to greet me like a person and just gave me a dirty look until I asked my question. If she treated a stranger looking to make a donation like that I bet she treats the residents way worse. She is the reason senior live homes get a bad reputation because she was just nasty and hostile. A person like that had no business working with your loved ones. I would like to share a review on Grace Assisted Living in Chandler, AZ. My father-in-law needed…read moreassisted living needs, and we toured two facilities. Grace was the first one. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with such love and concern for our needs. We spoke with Becky who is in charge of this facility, which is in a house setting, manned 24/7, and has room for 5 residents. After spending some time there and touring the facility, we checked out the second one, and it was an easy decision for us - we wanted Grace. Dad was transferred from a rehab center (where he received terrible care) to Grace. They immediately assessed Dad's needs and started to implement a schedule for Dad. He arrived there with two large bedsores which needed to be documented. We were horrified at what we saw. Becky, with her calm manner, told us not to worry, that they would take care of everything. We also signed Dad up for hospice care. The staff there are so caring and genuinely concerned about Dad's care. They listen to his needs and want to always go the extra mile to make him comfortable. He has a spacious room with a beautiful window, and a large TV for his needs. We couldn't ask for more. In addition to Becky, there's a wonderful man there named Robert. I could sit here for hours telling you how well he takes care of Dad, but I won't. I'll just say, when Robert stepped in to help Dad, we saw great changes and most of all love. Now Robert is Dad's buddy, and it is such a privilege to watch Robert work with Dad. Even if you have had the worst day yourself, five minutes there and you are truly appreciative and inspired. I have worked with other assisted living places, and this, by far, is the best. They have all become like family to us, and to be able to know that Dad is getting the best care is priceless. Thank you Becky, Robert and the rest of the staff for making Dad's stay not feel like a bother. They communicate with us very well, and we actually look forward to going just to see them. I'm truly telling you, there is no better facility than Grace, and we thank them so much for their professionalism and taking care of Dad so well.

The home is very clean, and there is a pleasant, home- like atmosphere located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Our mom thought of her caregivers as family... and we did, too.
