I would like to share a review on Grace Assisted Living in Chandler, AZ. My father-in-law needed…read moreassisted living needs, and we toured two facilities. Grace was the first one. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with such love and concern for our needs. We spoke with Becky who is in charge of this facility, which is in a house setting, manned 24/7, and has room for 5 residents. After spending some time there and touring the facility, we checked out the second one, and it was an easy decision for us - we wanted Grace. Dad was transferred from a rehab center (where he received terrible care) to Grace. They immediately assessed Dad's needs and started to implement a schedule for Dad. He arrived there with two large bedsores which needed to be documented. We were horrified at what we saw. Becky, with her calm manner, told us not to worry, that they would take care of everything. We also signed Dad up for hospice care. The staff there are so caring and genuinely concerned about Dad's care. They listen to his needs and want to always go the extra mile to make him comfortable. He has a spacious room with a beautiful window, and a large TV for his needs. We couldn't ask for more. In addition to Becky, there's a wonderful man there named Robert. I could sit here for hours telling you how well he takes care of Dad, but I won't. I'll just say, when Robert stepped in to help Dad, we saw great changes and most of all love. Now Robert is Dad's buddy, and it is such a privilege to watch Robert work with Dad. Even if you have had the worst day yourself, five minutes there and you are truly appreciative and inspired. I have worked with other assisted living places, and this, by far, is the best. They have all become like family to us, and to be able to know that Dad is getting the best care is priceless. Thank you Becky, Robert and the rest of the staff for making Dad's stay not feel like a bother. They communicate with us very well, and we actually look forward to going just to see them. I'm truly telling you, there is no better facility than Grace, and we thank them so much for their professionalism and taking care of Dad so well.

My criteria for…read morechoosing Solterra included mingling of Independent and Assisted residents, a dining room open all day, and a homey feel. I was disappointed when the director was let go about a year ago, but the facility remains well run and the staff is attentive. A major remodel is under way, and I appreciate the investment. Rooms are very generous--and I saw *many* places just as expensive with teeny rooms. Recently my grown children moved their dad into the memory care unit, and they are extremely happy with the care and attentiveness he receives. Another very picky friend of mine has her mother-in-law in the memory care unit also. Since it's hard to see a family member become elderly and frail, this is such an important decision. I do recommend Solterra.

I didn't even get into the building before I was threatened of trespassing, literally from the parking lot to the front door I couldn't get a single word out before I was swiftly asked to leave. Zero chance I would allow my family to even consider living in a place like this. Not to mention the landscape is extremely unkept and neglected, among other things that are neglected as well.

The physical space is very, very nice , the staff is friendly and supportive and come quickly when you use your emergency button. I had some experience with summoning emergency services. It was all very fast and efficient. The fire station is literally next door. The dining room is well run, the food is usually good. I have gained several pounds in the months that we have lived here. There are lots of activities and nice spaces to meet in. The 'back office' seems well run, billing is clear and timely. They offer support for insurance if you have it.

She took a video of the apartment for me so I could show my mom before she moved. Kim at the front desk was so helpful with everything I needed and the Director of Assisted Living, Keri Giles was always available to address anything I had concerns over with my mom. Everything changed in November of 2025 when the new Director, Alexondra came on board. I decided to relocate my mom after the holidays and gave the 30 day required notice December 31 to be moved out by January 31. I receive a call from the Director on January 5 that I need to move my mom into their memory care immediately. WHAT? I inform her my mom is moving out January 21 literally in 2 weeks. She told me it didn't matter I must move her into memory care or get 24-7 care for her. She's in assisted living! Needless to say I was able to move her to another assisted living facility where she is receiving true assisted living. Be very careful if you choose this facility. After moving out I personally cleaned the apartment and it was filthy even though housekeeping cleaned once a week. I then received a bill for carpet replacement. I was speechless. I've included some pictures of how filthy it was.

Through experience I have come to believe that staff turnover is highly correlated to quality and consistency of care. As I searched I was looking for an intimate and clean setting with low staff turnover as an indicator that the staff were happy in their job and therefore capable of providing consistent high quality care. Many, if not most at Parkland have been there 5-6 years. It was no contest. Parkland is a great facility, built specifically for memory care patients. What truly impresses, though, is the caring, attentive nature of the staff...and I mean everyone from the executive director to the caregivers!! They actively engage the residents and are kind, attentive and respectful. I am so happy I made the choice to take her to Parkland. She recently passed but loved her time there, especially loved the staff and the residents. If you have choice, you need to look at Parkland first. Incredible!
