I have been to Mountain Mike's locations before and I really like their pizza. This location was no different, pizza was on point, really good. Rating of 4 is a couple things, one they were out of Modelo, which I came back the next night and they were still out, so that was a negative for me. Second, the salad bar was good, but it needed to be cleaned up a bit and more items added that were low. When it gets low like that, you wonder how long things have been sitting. They were busy and tables were needing to be cleaned up, they were working on it all, but just things I noticed. Inside is very big, tons of seating, great for groups, there are a lot of TV's all around and some games to play as well. Good times, pizza, beer (none for me this time) and sports on TV. Hopefully they were just really busy this night and needed some help to keep up, beer being out happens, but should get resolved to capture more sales and so customers are happy. Other than that, I do recommend their pizza and salad bar, both taste good and there are lots to choose from on the salad bar. A bit on the expensive side in my opinion for a single visit salad bar, mini pizza and side, but just IMO, still worth it as it is really good pizza and the salad bar does have a lot of offerings. We went to Mountain Mike's for the pizza buffet, which includes access to the salad bar, on Monday, July 14. I telephoned just before leaving to confirm that their buffet would be open; I was told that the buffet was open and would operate from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. We walked through the door at 11:00 and had paid for the buffet by 11:02. One group had ordered the pizza buffet just ahead of us and was at the salad bar. Pizza was not yet ready. We were told it would be available in five minutes. Twenty-three minutes later, the first pizza was placed on the rack for pizza buffet customers. it was cheese and jalapenos (or some similar pepper), which we did not want. Almost five minutes later, pepperoni pizza was made available. Sooner thereafter, Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza was available. I believe a combination pizza was available at about the same time. The pizza was delicious, but the amount of time required to wait for it (when the buffet was officially open an hour before) was excessive. I don't know if it's standard policy for the staff not to begin cooking the first pizza until after the first buffet customer pays, or if it was just an off day for the staff. read more

My family and I dinned in at this restaurant. While the pizza tasted great & the staff at the register were friendly, our experience quickly changed. I observed the cashier (female staff with red/burgundy hair), not once wash or sanitize her hands, yet she was handing out food, plates, and cups all while handling the register and the phone. To my shock, I noticed her changing the lettuce from the salad bar, grabbing the salad pieces with her bare hands, and NO gloves! Not only is this gross but can quickly make someone sick as this is highly unsanitary for a restaurant. Please wear gloves when handling food! Or at minimum wash your hands. I hope Mountain Mikes take the time to review this and coach the staff as your pizza is greatly loved in our little town, but we deserve better! By better , I mean cleanliness and proper/safe food handling practices. read more

I am a fan of our local Mountain Mike's Pizza located in the Tulare Village Shopping Center. The location has housed a multitude of different pizza shops throughout the years, and Mountain Mike's is the latest. I can always count on easy, fast, and friendly service when placing my orders, either online or over the phone. The employees are great and every one of my orders have come out perfect. My go to is The Everest which is Mike's version of a classic combination pizza. It comes loaded up with pepperoni, Italian sausage, salami, linguica, beef, mushrooms, black olives, bell peppers and onion with their classic red sauce. The McKinley is similar to the Everest, minus the salami and linguica and Mt. Veggiemore is their exceptional veggie pizza. If you prefer a creamy white sauce, there are several options available. Mountain Mike's also has wings, salads, sandwiches, sides, and desserts available to complete your order. There are several great pizza shops in town and Mountain Mike's is one of the best. We highly recommend mountain Mike's in Tulare. it is super clean, friendly staff and a great place to have a last minute birthday party! Thursday we had a birthday party for our daughter's fifth birthday and we had about 40 guest. The manager Julie and staff made us feel like we were priority, although they were busy with walk in orders and deliveries. Our pizza came out hot and on time, our guest didn't have to wait to eat! The salad bar was fully stocked and neatly arranged. The fountain drink area was nice and clean, lids and straws were nicely stacked and organized making it easy to access. Came up here for a football game. We had called ahead, reserved our tables for after the game, placed our order ahead of time. When it came time to get our order we already prepaid for, we find out they had given our tables and pizzas to the other team. We had to wait after our loss while the other team sat at our tables and ate our pizza. Expected better a better experience. read more

the manager is the worst manger i have ever spoke to in my 69 years on earth. she talks a hundred miles an hour doesn't listen to what you order then when you get your order its not what you ordered, after waiting an hour to be deleivered. the pizza and the chicken wings are good but that is not what i ordered. the price is high but i like the quality of the food and taste.but if i pay this price get my order right its sad we didnt get to eat what we orders 1/2 cheese an 1/2 pepperoni and chicken wings boneless not bone like a dog would want and not a loaf of bread for pizza. get what i am talking about.. at 48.00. never again you get one shot at me then i will drive to visalia, thats why tulare loses business and restaurants' close down. slow down and listen to your customer. read more

My experience with this place was absolutely HORRIBLE. We, along with several other families, pre-ordered pizzas and reserved tables several hours in advance, and the staff gave the pizzas and tables to another large group, so we had to wait over 30 minutes to receive the pizzas WE pre-ordered. Let me start off by saying I went on a night were it was completely packed with kids having their end of season celebrations for sports. The cashiers were friendly and fast. The salad bar was cleaned and stocked frequently. The pizza came out pretty quick and was just the right amount of crisp with out being overly greasy. Funny story, me and my husband were the very first customers at this particular Mountain Mike's Pizza . Anyways , they have been in Tulare for going on 9 years I believe. I was pregnant with my last child during our first visit that's how I remember. And after all these years I've only eaten here or ordered out a handful of times . Not because they aren't good, the pizza is delicious! The little mini crunchy pepperonis are my favorite and the kids love them too! Also the wings are bomb! The appetizers are all pretty good as well! The food is great! But what stops me from eating here more often is the price! This place is so damn expensive lol I have a large family and paying almost $30 just for one pizza that won't be enough to fill us up is kind of crazy . Although the pizzas are pretty big ! It's just too expensive compared to Dominoes where you can get 3 pizzas and breadsticks for $25 . So we eat here about once every couple years when we really get a craving for it! read more

Depending on who is working the back will be the difference between cheesy bread sticks being soft and chewy and stringy or hard as a flipping piece of card board. And when you complain about it there's a female manager that will tell you that's how it is supposed to be hard and crunchy with burnt cheese. This is the first time in a very long time that I have come here for dinner.Mostly i prefer the lunch special. But tonight I thought I would give it a try. Theres a big difference between lunch and dinner. Food wise it's the same staff wise it's like night and day. The owner works the day shift.And he's a very nice man. Mountain mikes is a treat for us and the pizza is always good however I was kinda freaked out tonight when I made my salad to go. The owner stood back by the drinks and watched me make my salad eyeballing me making me feel very uncomfortable. It was a stare more like how much is she going to put in that very small over priced salad bowl. We paid nearly $50 for 2 pizzas wings garlic bread and my salad. I'm sorry when I pay $6 for a salad to go when it's the same price had I sat there and ate the all you can eat salad bar I am going to get what I want. But I won't be getting mine there again if the owner is there. read more

They have everyone reuse their plates at the buffet. That's disgusting and a breeding ground for bacteria. They didn't have a changing table in the women's bathroom. What's with some of these Tulare businesses that close sooner than their advertised hours? Is that a small town thing? My family and I came here for a late dinner before our movie 3 hours prior to the advertised closing time of 11pm. We entered to find the employees already cleaning up. My mother in law ordered a salad from the salad bar and shortly after she made her plate-an employee told my mother in law to grab more now if she wanted because they were closing the salad bar. This is around 8:45pm now. Our pizza was made fairly quickly and it was really good! No complaints there. Throughout our meal though-the employees continued on cleaning. Eventually, they began being very obvious about wanting us to leave. I need to add that I've worked for a pizza place before and I understand that they usually close the seating area about an hour before they stop taking delivery orders. By this standard they should close at 10pm. It's now 9:40pm as I write this. I dunno, someone feel free to educate me if I'm wrong about that. I wasn't expecting anything great from a pizza place, I was just looking for a place to host 24 adults and kids to feed after our gymnastic event. I was pleasantly surprised on the cleanliness, service, and food. The person in charge (not sure if it was the manager), was very efficient, friendly and helpful in making sure we had a place for all of us to sit together. The food came out fast - it was hot and delicious. The salad bar was very clean with a variety of fresh items. Overall, you can tell the workers take pride in their establishment. Great place for pizza and would certainly go again if we are in the area. read more
