I really enjoyed my visit to Bask Smokehouse…read more Big shout out to the bartender that waited on me. She gave me her name right out of the gate, but I'm horrible with names, so I don't recall for sure... Ashley l think. But if I'm wrong, I'm sorry. She took such good care of me the entire visit. Thanks!!! Love the vibe of this place. Was made to feel at home right away. Food was seriously good. I had the pork belly burnt ends as a starter. Them were top shelf. Fat rendered, lean tender, and the sauce was tangy and a little spicy. Scatter of fresh Fresno peppers sliced thin were a nice touch. My main was a 3n3 with pork ribs, pulled pork and Tri tip. All smoked perfectly. Tender still juicy. The only minor adjustment I might make is lightly reasoning the pulled pork after the pull. But that's it. Sauces made up for that though. Sides were good too. Braised kale, green beans and Mac and cheese. All wonderfully prepared. Kale was so good I bought a quart to carry out. They kill that kale l. It is so good. All around good experience.

We decided to hit the patio because it was a gorgeous evening and there was better live music taking place down the street that we could enjoy at a comfortable volume. That's when Jessica welcomes us. What a shinning star of an employee. We were unsure on the cocktails to order and she broke down the flavor profiles beautifully and gave top notch recommendations for the liquor choices. Then we mentioned we were looking at apps. We were very up front about this being our first experience and asked what she suggested of the two we were debating on. She then told us about a special that was more an entree but also would be a great app; the wonton nachos with pulled pork. Wow. Those were a shining star. We then got the 2&2, tried the smoked Turkey and Beef Tri Tip with sides of the Deviled Egg Potato Salad and fresh green beans. Did we forget to choose sauces like the menu said? Heck yeah we did, but Jessica came through clutch and picked the sauces she thought paired best with each meat and upon delivery, made sure we knew what was the best pairing. My god, was it perfect. The apple butter based sauce *was* perfect with the Turkey (and now i think it needs to be tried with the pork but i digress) and the Smokey hot bbq gave just the nicest spice for the tri tip. Was it the best barbecue we've ever had? I'm not gonna blow smoke, pun not intended. It was pretty good. I legitimately was so engrossed in the food i forgot i had a cocktail beside me. But what made it amazing is the care to the experience Jessica gave. She listened to our interests from the menu and helped make it an unforgettable dining experience that is going to bring us back again. So go in, grab a patio seat, and ask for Jessica, you won't regret it.

I was in town for work and looked for some new places to try. This place came up in a review from…read moreanother site. I love Cajun food, so I thought I'd give it a try. When I said I was blown away, that isn't an exaggeration. I tried their sampler of the Jambalaya, red beans and rice, gumbo, and their shrimp étouffée with the cheesy grits. That étouffée with the cheesy grits blew my mind. The rest of the food was good, but that first bite of the étouffée was one of the best mouthfuls I've had in a very, very long time. So much flavor! I certainly didn't expect this in Huntington, WV. I wouldn't have thought there could be a hole-in-the-wall Cajun place in WV, but this is absolutely legit. So much so, that I went back the next day to get a full portion of their shrimp étouffée and try their shrimp po'boy sandwich. Again, it was nothing short of incredible. This place is small, but it deserves a lot of attention. The owner is a man of few words, but his food is absolutely fantastic. A restaurant never hits on everything and it's up to personal tastes, but those po'boys and that étouffée are absolute winners. It's unfortunately often the case that the small restaurants have some of the best food, and that is the case here. I am in Huntington for work often, and I absolutely will visit this place every time I'm there.

I ordered 20 pc, but I'm not sure what they were, including as pieces of chicken. They were very overcooked and had little flavor. The onion rings were also overcooked and too hard to eat. My husband ordered a supreme type pizza, I tried it as well since I didn't end up eating much of mine, it tasted like frozen pizza. It's a shame the food is so bad because it's a nice little restaurant with so much charm. Out first and last visit.
