Two bedrooms had King size beds, 2 outside decks, fully loaded direct tv with flat screens upstairs and downstairs, plus a garage full of chopped wood for the fireplace. Queen bed w/ bonus twin trundle room & bath. Full formal living room with dining room, family room w/ big screen TV & Direct TV. Full bath down stairs. HUGE kitchen with breakfast bar. Mud room w/ washer/dryer & wash basin. But the best part of the house was the generously equipped kitchen (coffee maker, blender, toaster), tons of pots & pans. Fully stocked condiment cupboard. Formal & casual dinner wear and additional "party" dinner wear in the mud room. Fully equipped workbench in garage. The deck is breath taking, big table w/ umbrella and seating for 8. Let me tell…read moreyou a bit about what you can expect: The Lodge is set off a couple hundred yards from Gold Lake Highway, nestled in the woods at the trailhead to Round Lake. (You'll see a lot of day-trippers parked at the trailhead -- just hang a right to drive into the Gold Lake Lodge campground.) The campground is made up of three tent cabins, about a dozen small cabins, and the main dining room. Those who stay in the tent cabins will get a slightly more rustic experience: you'll have a full bed and a dresser in the tent, but bathrooms and showers are in separate outhouse-like structures (perfectly clean, hot water, flushable toilets, etc.). Those in cabins will live in luxury with their own bathroom and shower. Both can accommodate 2-3 people depending on how much you like one another, but 2 is probably the right number for most. Prices are substantially cheaper for the tent cabins than the cabin-cabins, but both are reasonable. The price tag includes a full-blown breakfast, snacks for lunch, and a gut-busting dinner. Meals are served family style, and you'll quickly learn the ins and outs about which dishes to order, but everything will leave you full. Steak features prominently on the menu, but there are many other options too. My favorites? The pork loin with "Gold Lake sauce" (whatever that is!) and the Buffalo burger (also, not coincidentally, with "Gold Lake sauce"). For breakfast, you can't miss with the "Gold Lake scramble". (See the pattern?) For dessert, the "szarlotka" -- Polish apple pie -- is the runaway favorite. The lodge is run by the ever-helpful John, and ably staffed by a small gaggle of Polish students, who return year after year and add a little bit of cosmopolitanism to the woods. Perfect for all types, very close to amazing hikes and lakes... pretty hard not to give it 5 stars.

I cannot say enough good things about Ciera Huha. I am a mortgage loan officer here in California,…read moreand Ciera was my mom's buying agent when she moved from Colorado back home to Siskiyou County. Ciera worked with mom for months while mom looked at different properties. Her patience, compassion, communication, and individual, personal care far exceeded my expectations. I deal with many agents in my day-to-day work, and Ciera is top of the line. When she found "the one" for mom, the escrow process was quick and smooth, and she went above and beyond in making sure mom received everything she asked for. She even took care of granting unconventional requests late in the process that would normally not be considered. She wanted to make sure her client was 100% happy, and she did what it took to effect that. I could not have asked for my mom to be in any better hands for this process. I highly recommend Ciera Huha. Working with her, rest assured she will find your perfect home, and you will be taken great care of!

In October, 2017, we found an attractive rental home (44 Sequoia Circle) for the following June of this year (June 10 - 17, 2018). It was expensive, but in a great location. Most importantly, it advertised "SORRY NO PETS ALLOWED," a requirement since my wife is highly allergic to pet hairs, and WiFi was provided. Upon arrival, this is what we found: - Dog hair all over floors, carpets, towels, duvet in master bedroom, etc. - WiFi couldn't be connected - Garbage disposal was broken - Master bedroom outer window was shattered from an errant golf ball - Sliding screen door opening onto the patio was broken, thus we had no access to the patio looking out onto the golf course. We cleaned immediately, the best we could, with a vacuum cleaner full of dog hair. When complaining about false advertisement regarding the pet policy, we were told that policy only applies to renters and that the owner occupied the house for several weeks with his dog prior to our occupancy. Eventually the garbage disposal and sliding door to the patio were fixed, and upon day 3 the house was cleaned by professionals, but of course we had to vacate the premises. Management could never get the WiFi to work with the owner-provided pass code, and the broken master window continued to drop outer paned glass onto the deck throughout the week. How to conclude? On our morning departure date, we returned the keys to the manager of the rental agency (Ellen Cantrell), expressed our disappointment with the condition of the home, especially the false advertisement of "SORRY NO PETS ALLOWED," but were given no apology, not even any suggestion of compensation for the terrible conditions we encountered. Just remember when you sign the "Vacation Rental Terms and Conditions," it means YOU take full responsibility for anything and everything, not the "Agent" or "Owner.!

We returned this past weekend for a 2-day trip for my birthday and brought the whole family (5kids). There are rental villas that are large enough for our family - we stayed in a 3BR that had tons of space to spread out, watch movies in the evenings, enjoy the hottub on the deck. It was right across the parking lot from the clubhouse, which was our favorite part of this weekend. Our family enjoyed the gym, the climbing wall, basketball, pool table, foosball, video games, and of course the pool and the hot tub. The restaurant at the clubhouse was perfect for poolside snacks. The service was amazing - the staff greeted us warmly and helped us enjoy everything there was to offer. We were able to go on a couple of hikes right from our villa. There were no lights available in the building, including no visible emergency lighting, and the elevators were not working. Our room was originally on the second floor, but because I have knee problems and cannot easily use stairs, the night staff member was very kind and helped us by finding a room on the ground floor. I truly appreciated her professionalism and willingness to help during a difficult situation. What left a negative impression was the interaction at checkout the next morning. Instead of acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the power outage, I felt as though we were expected to be grateful for being placed in a different room because it happened to be one of the resort's nicer accommodations. To be clear, the room change was necessary because of the resort's power issue, not a special favor. While the property itself remains beautiful, the lack of emergency lighting and the response from the front desk the following morning raise concerns about both guest safety and customer service. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'm not sure I would choose to stay here again. If this was other hotel chain I will be even refunded because the inconveniences!!
