The store itself is really spacious, which is nice, they don't pile things on top of each other so that they can get it all on display. There is plenty of room to walk around the store and check out all the different Alabama (both teams) sports gear they have on display. In addition to apparel they also have hats, drinkware, license plate holders, signs, posters, and all sorts of stuff for your favorite team (Alabama college teams only). All in all it's not a bad location. The staff were friendly and greeted everyone that came through the door and said good bye to everyone that left the store. The main deduct in rating for me is the fact that it all seemed a little dated. Might be because it's at the outlets, but it didn't seem to be the latest greatest stuff. Now, having said that, they did have national championship stuff from this year, so if you hadn't have gotten that yet, might be a good spot to check out. In this case a three star review isn't meant to be a bad thing. Just wasn't really any kind of wow factor that would push this over the top to a four star review. I'd shop here again if I'm at the outlets, and would recommend the same if you're already out here shopping.

I think my disdain with Academy is that I'm not a Nike , Under Armour fan. This seems to be a lot of their inventory. I prefer their brand (BCG) over most of the brands they carry. I ended up with a Adidas T-shirt ($20). It's cute and will definitely come in handy! Overall , Academy is decent. I think they are good for team sporting equipment, etc. It's just not a store I care to regularly shop at. Pleased with my recent purchase & the customer service at checkout. No one asked me if I needed help or anything while I was browsing.... All good. This isn't always a deal breaker for me.

With me doing squats, something told me to get a weight belt to used while working out. The price for the belt were fair even though it cost me almost $30 dollars, but it been worth it since the belt is still in good shape. I also needed workout gloves and with me lifting weights, I need something to protect my hand. Like anything else, the gloves wasn't cheap, but worth the price since I had them for a couple of months and they still intact compared to most gloves I had before. Customer service is good and there return policy is fair as long you have your receipt.

Staff at this location were really nice ... greeted upon entering the store and about half way through checking out what they had, they asked if I needed any help....when I left they thanked me for coming in and said to have a good night. What I like about these guys, is they have clothing that you aren't going to find at Dick's, Academy or Belk type stores. Their focus is on outdoor gear and clothing and the associated brands. One of the few places, I know of, where they have a pretty good selection of North Face and Patagonia and brands like that. In addition to that they have some shoe brands you won't be getting at these other stores as well as some outdoor camping supply type stuff. Really, the only down tick in rating for me is the fact that the prices in here can tend to be a little on the high side. But otherwise, a really quality store with some really cool stuff.

Once in that area another worker patiently provided insight into good beginner rods. I was informed that I could test out the rod for up to 60 days and if I didn't like it I could bring it back. Thankfully I used it today and will not be bringing it back because I really like my Ugly Stik! They also provide some free fishing line with purchase of a rod. The store is clean and well lit and the same goes for the parking lot. Check out was a breeze as I didn't have wait long and the checkout clerk was really sweet. I was given a container of Salted Caramel Fudge Bites before I left in exchange for a review! The fudge bites are AMAZING!

If you're in the market for a suit, just do yourself a favor and go to Mr Burches instead. Their staff is kind, offers a range of suiting (not off-brand factory stuff), and in-house tailoring. Adding to this: I'm a thirty year old white guy, so at least this is just a "customer service representative being a general asshole" issue instead of a racism issue like one of the other poor souls to have reviewed this place implied.
