Breakfast Special: Avocado toast with bacon, tomatoes, & eggs!!! So delicious!!!

Mountain Harbor Resort & Spa has been wonderful for our family. We came up here with our camper & boat for a relaxing long weekend. It was definitely that! We rented a spot for our boat which was very handy. Our campsite was just fine for what we were using it for! We ate breakfast twice at the restaurant and it was delicious! Best food on the trip by far!! I wrote a separate review for the Turtle Cove Spa, it was so enjoyable! Ralph was fantastic! Thank you, Mountain Harbor!!

Blessings to you I will choose Mountain Harbor every time ~ move, clean rooms; honest staff, incredible adventure awaits ~ beautiful area nestled in Mountain

You may not know it but your looking at a 12.00 piece of cake.

I love staying here. The location and scenery. Room pricing is ok. Accommodations in the room is good. The restaurant is the only thing that is suffering. Way too pricey. For what you pay, I'll go eat better down the road . Room cleanliness is excellent. 5 stars on the room.

Good: Best part of the room was the smell of the soap they leave for you. And there's a VHS player. And the view, small patio, convenient place to charge your phone. Whyyyyyyyyyy: The walls were very thin, and we were woken up by the guy next door talking in a normal voice on his phone. The housekeeper pounded on the door at 9am like she was the god¥%*# police to 'see if we needed anything' - unnecessary. the restaurant... Food, drinks, price, and staff..... Pretty bad. Lots of margarine, cold food that should be hot; using up old oily biscuits to make $7 piles of 'cobbler'... If we ever went back, I'd bring enough food to last the whole weekend rather than go back to their overpriced restaurant.

Beautiful living room in cabin. Photo taken from the kitchen after a grocery run!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience last fall at Mountain Harbor!! My boyfriend & I traveled from New York City to attended a wedding in Little Rock. He has never been to Arkansas, so we decided last minute to spend a few extra days & drive to Mountain Harbor after the wedding. The staff was wonderfully accommodating, especially on such short notice! We stayed in one of the luxury cabins overlooking the lake. The wrap-around deck was our favorite place to spend evenings watching the sunset, but every aspect of the accommodations were truly spectacular. It was just the two of us, but the cabin was very spacious with plenty of room for an entire family and friends. The cabin exterior was rustic & perfectly complimented the natural beauty of the lake & property. The interior of the cabin was extremely nice, with very modern amenities, including a beautiful kitchen & bathrooms. I would describe the design inside the cabins as rustic-luxury, with a real emphasis on luxury!! It was immediately obvious that someone spent considerable time making every detail perfect. The October weather was warm & beautiful, so we rented a boat & spent our first full day on the lake: fishing, swimming & relaxing on beautiful lake Ouachita! We were so relaxed & comfortable that we barley left our amazing cabin in the evenings. We we did take a drive to Hot Springs one evening & enjoyed a wonderful dinner & drinks in that very charming historic town. I couldn't recommend this Mountain Harbor more highly. It is a very special place with a wonderful history, old-world feel, BEAUTIFUL location, and every modem amenity two NYC residents could imagine!

We stayed in a rustic cabin/condo for 4th of July and had a great time skiing, boating, watching a parade and then watching the fireworks show over the lake. The restaurant was great. The staff was very helpful. Our accommodations were comfortable. The holiday atmosphere was exciting and perfect for our 3 generation family group.

We stopped here for dinner. Beautiful location with lake access. The wait was not too bad, and service was very attentive. We shared the steak sandwich and pecan cobbler with icecream, all so yummilicious!

    Place of stay

A perfect getaway place. The condominium we rented was in the middle of no where which made it a best place for a family vacation far away from the busy life. The place itself had all basic amenities and the staff were very friendly. Only thing you need to be aware is - in case you need any groceries (booze too) make sure you get them before you arrive. Not many stores close by for a quick grab.

My wife and I signed up for a aromatherapy couples bath and we were fortunate because we came in last minute and luckily there was one opening available. I'd recommend booking in advance. We arrived around 15 minutes before our scheduled time and after checking in we were directed to a waiting room that has a small bar with drinks and snacks for purchase. At our appointed time there were attendants that came to show us to our bath. The baths are in private rooms and are very clean. When we were shown to our room the aromatherapy was added and the tub was filled with the hot springs water. The soak felt amazing, whishing I could sit in there all day. The water felt healing and with the aromatics it added an additional layer of relaxation. After our time was up we simply got out, dressed and could lounge in a waiting area until we were ready to leave.

Imagine planning a relaxing getaway to Hot Springs, hoping to get an appointment for a bath at one…read moreof the legendary bathhouses, and after repeatedly calling and even visiting in person, you can but then you can't. This was our experience with the Quapaw bathhouse. We first tried to book online. Since I wanted to book both my husband and I, it was suggested that we call, so we did before our visit to Hot Springs. I expected to talk to a receptionist since we called in the afternoon during their regular business hours, but we got their voicemail. I left a message to please call us back so that we could book an appointment during our stay. After not receiving a call back after a day or two, we decided to visit in person once we got there. We waited in line at the Quapaw. I was excited because it looked so nice and relaxing inside. There were about 5 receptionists at a long counter, and after about 10 minutes one pulled us aside. We asked if there was any availability in the next couple of days while we were there. The receptionist looked iffy at first, then pulled up the information I had added when I tried to book online and told us she had a 2:30 open and blocked it off in their system for my husband and I. She was explaining to us who our masseuses would be, adding the kind of aromatherapy we liked, and that we needed to arrive ahead of time. As she went to swipe our credit card, she and another staff member started talking about our appointment. Apparently a staff member named J.J. overruled the time our receptionist blocked off for us seconds earlier and booked another couple that walked in behind us, but I guess J.J. was a faster typer? Maybe? We still don't know, because once she realized it was double booked we were told too bad, that's all they had, and nothing could be done about it. My husband and I looked at each other puzzled, like "what just happened"? So in essence, they booked us then canceled us. I even got a welcome email, then a cancellation email that I'm still scratching my head over. After pretty much saying "sorry, too bad" in front of the other people waiting in line, they all went back signing people in like we weren't even there. It was really awkward and not to mention a big disappointing let down. My husband and I left, stunned as to having an appointment, then not, not to mention the treatment after...and not really knowing what to do about it After talking about it, we decided to call to speak to someone about our experience, since maybe that was just a bad day. I've called, I've emailed, and I still haven't received anything back, not even an I'm sorry. My husband and I are on our way home, and we still haven't heard back from anyone at the Quapaw. I even waited to post this hoping we might. We got to do some really fun things in Hot Springs. The Quapaw experience or in a way "no" experience left us kind of down and not to mention kind of angry. Just so weird. I expected so much more than "sorry, bye", but that's exactly what it was. Fair warning to all.

What a cool experience. I'm in Little Rock for work and came to Hot Springs on my day off,…read morespecifically to check out the Buckstaff Bathhouse. I'm so glad I did. The Buckstaff was built in 1912, and once you enter the locker room you step back in time over 100 years. It's one of 2 operating bathhouses on Bathhouse Row, but the only one that maintains the original feel. The treatments and fixtures are the same as they have been for the last century. I was fortunate to have Ricky as my attendant, who has worked at Buckstaff since 1977. He made sure I had a great experience! I also had an excellent massage from Ryan. I can't recommend Buckstaff Bathhouse enough. Step back in time and enjoy the thermal waters of Hot Springs!

I visited the Buckstaff Bathhouse on my recent trip to Hot Springs. I also visited another historic…read morethermal bathhouse, so my review is a bit of a comparison between the two. The thing I really enjoyed at Buckstaff that was not offered at the other bathhouse was the steam cabinet. However, this was only about 5 minutes of my visit, so I would say if I returned, I might not go back to Buckstaff. However, I absolutely recommend visiting this one so you can decide which is your favorite! Here is the sequence of events I experienced (thermal bath experience with no massage/paraffin): I got there before 8 and there were four couples ahead of me in line. By the time 8 rolled around there were many more people behind us. Definitely recommend getting there early! The check in process was a little chaotic because the people behind the table just said "whoever was here first, come to the counter." We were all sort of in a blob and once one person jumped in front of someone else who had been there before she had, the vibe got a little weird. I kind of wish they had deli numbers or something, but oh well. I am sure it all works out. The people who worked there were all very friendly, and the people in the treatment room were SUPER busy the whole time, but very friendly. I got changed, got my sheet, and went in for my bath. They offered a loofa but no other extras (like scented salts) but I can understand why since it was a tighter space. If there were any smells in there, it could get really challenging for people sensitive to smells. My bath was fine and I enjoyed the loofa. Then I went to the cooling table. The hot towels cooled off pretty quickly, and they were more draped over me than wrapped (which was what I saw for everyone, so it wasn't just me). I don't know if that is why they cooled so quickly, but I was kind of there in cold towels for a bit which was less pleasant. Next, I went to the steam cabinet which was my favorite. I did not know how I would feel because the steam cabinet is so strange looking, but I would 10/10 want to do this or something like it again. It was like the best of both worlds being able to breathe regular air while experiencing the benefit of a steam sauna on my body. Next was the sitz bath. I was looking forward to this unique experience, but I could take it or leave it. Maybe I don't have the concerns that would make this a dream come true feeling, but I kind of just felt awkward and like I was sitting in warm water on a towel. I then went back to get dressed and leave. It was overall a great experience I feel very lucky to have had. Hot Springs offers some "nowhere else" type National Park experiences, and I definitely 100% recommend supporting the thermal baths and their employees! I would take my own clean flip flops for next time. I think they offer spa shoes, but I don't remember seeing anyone who had them.
