Front of the hotel

We wanted a hotel within walking distance of the Hot Springs historic district and chose Hotel Hale over the Hilton across the street, mainly for the unique experience of enjoying the thermal bath waters in-room and staying in a historic bathhouse. The difference in price was about $80, including valet. Hotel Hale also included breakfast, which was one of the best we've had at a hotel in a long time, and we avoided the long valet line at the Hilton when checking out. That said, the experience didn't live up to the luxury price tag. From the moment we checked in, we were given "lessons" on how to operate basic things: the elevator (with only two floors), the stairs (warned we might end up in the basement), the door (a dramatic demonstration of how to hold the key and swing an arm), and even the tub and TV remote. The owner repeated these instructions multiple times, and while perhaps well-intentioned, it felt condescending and unnecessary. The one thing we actually did need help with (the bedside lights) wasn't explained. There were cookies available next to the bed, on the bedside table, however ours were quite hard and not very good. It was pleasant having mineral water in the fridge, available for request from the front desk (not something we felt comfortable doing based on our experience). Btw, the mineral water tastes like regular spring water. Instead of feeling like valued guests, we felt like teenagers being supervised. It was disappointing, especially compared to other hotels on our trip where staff were genuinely welcoming. The historic setting and breakfast were highlights, but the overall atmosphere was deflating. In the end, staying in a bathhouse was interesting, but not worth the extra cost. It felt like an average bed and breakfast. Next time, we will be staying at the Hilton across the street, where we may expect a friendlier and less patronizing experience.

Breakfast: Bacon/Sausage Quiche, Fresh Fruit, Banana/Choc Muffin, and Coffee. Could also have had Greek Yoghurt and a Hard-Boiled Egg.

Heard about the Hotel Hale while visiting Hot Springs in 2022 and now had the opportunity to stay there. Oh boy, was it worth the wait! So old school, a definite white glove experience, including excellent service and attention to detail. On the day of my arrival, Heather called me mid-morning to ask my general ETA and give me tips on how to park "near" for off-loading luggage since the hotel is on the main street and has no direct car access. I wanted a room with seating so selected the "Libby" which has a cafe table plus 2 chairs. Loved this room, though mind you, it's street-side. Lots of light and I thought it was very quiet, even for May. Heather took me to my room and showed me how to carefully fill up the tub without burning myself. The water is SUPER HOT, and really, you can fill it with cool water and be totally rejuvenated. I later returned to the front desk and bought some bath salts w/CBD and was given a $25 gift certificate for the neighboring store where the salts were sold. The bath was divine, what else can I say? I stayed in the bath maybe a half hour and was a complete noodle afterwards. Heather also showed me the mineral water in a carafe (in the mini fridge), homemade cookies from Eden Bakery, homemade soap, as well as fresh robes, towels, etc. Breakfast is part of the room cost and served 8-9a, so before retiring, I handed in the my selected menu items. You have a choice of Bacon/Spinach or Spinach/Feta Quiche, Hard Boiled Egg, Greek Yogurt, Fresh Fruit, Muffin, and Juice...or you can have it all! You can also have a full carafe of coffee delivered to your room in the morning! With cream! The king bed was firm...YAY! plus you can control the thermostat to your liking. Upon check out, I asked where I could get BBQ to go. I was told to visit Stubby"s BBQ and happily relayed "The mayor sent me!" The hotel owner and mayor (one and the same) also does the valet car-parking ($25 - what a bargain). Everyone at the hotel was friendly and personable and f. I had the most fabulous time and can't wait to return!

We had dinner The Hale Bathhouse. Keith is still talking about how good his pork chop was. Who needs applesauce when you have a marvelous peach yumminess. The chef came out and talked with us and Robert our waiter was wonderfully attentive and yet not overly burdensome. Wonderful experience.

Hot Springs Arkansas is a must see town and National Park !! We chose ," The Hale Inn" on Central Ave. Our stay 5 nights . Anniversary and Mothers day 2023. The hotel has 9 rooms. We chose the room called , " The Hale " over 600sq ft , Decorated very nicely. Upscale linens on bed . HOT SPRINGS WATER PUMPS STRAIGHT TO A SOAKING TUB ! Mineral baths any time as many times as you like!!! The staff is amazing fantastic and attentive! Breakfast/brunch is including and is wonderful with a in-house chef and bakery . The restaurant offers a very nice menu selection . Specialty cocktails made by expert bartenders! The owners are welcoming and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is special. We would and WILL definitely return!!! This Historic Inn has earned a 10 star rating in our book!!! Just A LOVELY 5 day experience!!! Go go go !!! Book it ! You will not be disappointed!!!

I'm sad to say I was less than impressed with my experience at Hotel Hale. We were pretty excited to spend a night here and had been debating prior to our arrival if we should change plans to extend our stay. Boy are we glad we did not. The cons: - we were both surprised that the bathtubs weren't a little roomier. For having the mineral bath be such a selling point of staying at the Hale we thought it'd be a nicer set up. - we were told the mineral water would come out very hot so we should fill the tub, let it set, and then bathe. After filling the tub and letting it set for a while we discovered that you could actually pipe in cold hot spring water. Seems like an oxymoron, that. And we really should've figured that out sooner, but we were going off the information provided. - the complimentary homemade cookies, while a nice touch, were both rather disgusting. - the breakfast was sub-par. The quiche was the best part but everything else was truly lacking. And despite having a juicer in the front with oranges in it, they do not offer fresh orange juice with breakfast. That's a weekend specialty only. The orange juice they serve during the week is cartoned and nothing special. - the rooms aren't sound proof. We heard the staff knocking on the other doors delivering coffee in the morning. - the antique architecture, while beautiful, didn't seem well maintained and gave off a worn down feel instead of an old time luxury feel. For the prices of the rooms we expected better upkeep. - the room we were in didn't have any privacy when it came to the windows. We had to keep the curtains drawn as we faced the main street and were only on the second floor. The pros: - we enjoyed the king bed and the exposed brick wall in our room. - we appreciated the access to fresh water and that we could refill our water on our own from the fridge downstairs. - the complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate option was a nice touch - but as for the hot chocolate taste it was sub-par.

I stayed at Hotel Hale one night in November for my Birthday on a trip with my mom. I came across Hotel Hale and saw how unique it was and I was super excited to stay here vs. a generic hotel. I am so glad I did! It was worth the extra money and the experience was fantastic! The customer service was great when making the reservation and every contact with staff during the stay was excellent. The property is small enough where they remember all of the guests by name and those small little details about you. I arrived a few minutes too early to check in but I was able to leave my luggage before going to walk around town. Check in was super easy and a member of the staff give you a quick tour of your room to show you how to work everything. There is fresh spring water in the room along with fresh baked cookies. My mom and I stayed in the Quapaw room which I believe is the only one with two beds in it which was perfect for us. The back door opened up to a wooded area. The use of valet was super simple and you only had to give the front desk a few minutes heads up so they can run down the road and grab your car. Breakfast in the morning was super yummy. Upon check in, you are provided a check list to indicate what items you would like for breakfast. I checked everything off and received everything. It was all fresh and delicious. The property is beautiful, super clean and walking distance to all of the stores, restaurants and spa downtown. You are a couple minute drive to the observation tower in Hot Springs. I highly recommend Hotel Hale and would absolutely stay there again if ever in Hot Springs!

I wish there were more stars to give this amazing boutique hotel. Located on bath house row, this is one of the only ones that has hot mineral water piped into the rooms. Built in the late 1800's and restored beautifully. From the front desk, to house keeping everyone was fantastic. Mineral water waiting in your refrigerator to the fresh baked cookies on the night stand, it is perfection. Fresh brewed coffee delivered to your room in the morning and then a delicious brunch downstairs. I can't speak highly enough of this gem. The owners are frequently on site making sure everything is exceptional! Book your stay today you won't regret it.

Amazing experience. The hot spring mineral water bath was truly awesome. You have a chilled carafe of mineral water in a mini fridge waiting for you. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was great. Worth every penny. We will absolutely return.

Hotel Hale: Happy Hour menu

I felt as if I walked into a speakeasy ... more like the renovated bathhouse area turned into a bar and tapas place. We had a wonderful host take us to the area and then drop us off to yet another fun employee (wait staff). For happy hour, I had the Ste Germaine bubbly (name?) and lots of icy cold mineral water. Tip: there is a metal door which leads to the steam room... you can ask to feel the steam briefly.

Cake and beer!

There is valet parking immediately in front. The property was well maintained, the staff were friendly. Our room had a view of The Arlington and the mountain tower. The room was clean and well kept. The only complaint is the air unit was quite loud (thankfully I always travel with ear plugs). Overall I would stay again.

Our initial room had a view of the wall next door and air conditioning units. I didn't want a week of a crappy view, so we asked to stay on a higher floor and they obliged with our request. We ended up in room 510 with a much better view of the town. The room was clean and modern, but the bathroom seemed small and the shower's partial glass meant water was continually spilling out onto the bathroom floor. Maybe add a full glass shower door? The exterior windows could use a washing as well. Seeing lots of spiderwebs (outside) was icky. There is no self-parking either. Valet parking is $30/day; not bad as I've stayed at other hotels (i.e., San Francisco and Los Angeles) where overnight parking is $75-$85. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. P.S. You may be wondering about the "questionable brushes with the paranormal" comment. Two strange occurrences happened to my bf who doesn't believe in anything paranormal. First was at the hotel lobby restroom. As he was washing his hands, the soap bottle moved a good 6 inches on its own. He lifted the bottle, thinking there was water underneath that caused it to move across the surface. Nope, no water. Side note; there's an old urinal from 1913 in the men's restroom located in that same bathroom (hotel lobby). Perhaps the ghosts like old urinals. Second, my bf went to the back exit, in an attempt to walk up the staircase that would eventually lead to the rooftop. When he saw there was a musician performing at the top staircase of the rooftop, he came back down and tried using his key card to enter the hotel. Spent a good ten minutes before he called me and asked to let him in. I met him at the door, he explained what happened. I used his key card to see if there was an issue with the card. Nope, key card worked and let me right in. In this situation, it could have been an odd glitch, but I do find it interesting that this happened right after the soap bottle incident. Last note... we were talking to a bartender from another restaurant who had worked at this hotel as a bartender a few years ago. She said she was closing up the bar one night and a basket from a top shelf had fallen off. It was only her and one other person and neither were near the area. Spooked her out quite a bit! COMING BACK? Absolutely. There are some minor inconveniences that I mentioned, but there was so much more that I loved about this hotel, especially its historic vibe.

Best Western - Road Trip Practicality Over Fancy Arrived…read more4/19-4/21 2026 We do a lot of long road trips, this one being a full six weeks, so priorities shift. At this point, I'll take a place where I can park right outside my door over a fancy, overpriced hotel any day. Convenience wins when you're living out of a suitcase. This location checked that box well. Easy access, practical, and overall a solid stop for the night. That said... breakfast. I've noticed over time that Best Western's breakfast quality has slipped a bit, and this location didn't help change that impression. What really threw me off was that it wasn't self-serve. Instead, you're standing there while someone portions your food. Not ideal when all you want is a quick, easy start to the day. A little "wait, what?" moment. The tougher part was the service during breakfast. Both mornings, the servers felt cold and uninviting. No warmth, no friendliness, and definitely none of that Southern charm you kind of hope for when you're traveling through the region. Overall, it did the job, and I'd still choose this kind of setup for road trips. But a better breakfast experience, both in quality and attitude, would make a big difference.

I had our entire itinerary planned and hotels reserved back in March, then decided to make a few changes after listening to a few new-to-me places from a friend who has been to Arkansas with her husband several times. Our 2 double beds room was $160.68. It's one of the nicest Best Westerns we had ever stayed at. That being said, it's not glitzy. Both beds were super stiff and uncomfortable. Of course my kids didn't complain because they are young. Lol. Dogs 30 lbs or less were welcome for a one-time $25 non-refundable fee per stay. My daughters and I loved their outdoor pool which closed at 10:30 PM. It was by far the cleanest pool we had used all year. Most of the staff members were all extremely friendly and used words like "sweetheart" and "darlin'." Just get over it if you usually don't appreciate niceties, manners, and that sort of thing. The breakfast had actual service - not the usual do-it-yourself set-up at most BWs. Kind of like cafeteria style, but they also brought plates out to customers. It just depended on the item. Huge fan for the price!

1-Star Review - The Hotel Hot Springs Stayed April 5, 2026…read more An electrical fire broke out around 8:30 PM while we were on the 9th floor. We had to evacuate down a completely dark stairwell with no emergency lighting, using only my phone flashlight, through black smoke. We had to use a towel over our mouths just to breathe. Outside, there was no staff direction or communication at all. Because we are both heart patients and needed medication, we had to drive nearly 3 hours home without our belongings. The hotel never contacted us--not even after the emergency. It took 3 full days just to finally reach someone by phone. We then drove 400 miles round trip to retrieve our belongings (thank you to housekeeping for keeping them safe). However, the manager was rude and dismissive, said it wasn't his fault we left, and showed no concern about the lack of emergency lighting, saying it wasn't his problem. This was a dangerous and poorly handled situation with zero customer care. I would not recommend staying here.
