Broken glass on fan

I booked this room for myself, mother and brother for my birthday weekend. This was our first time here and I was excited for our stay here because of the awesome reviews and they accept dogs which was a huge plus for us. I knew driving in that it would look a little sketch from the outside, but I had higher expectations for the inside and unfortunately I was let down. The room cleanliness was questionable. The ceiling fan had piles of dust on it, I was afraid to turn it on or else it would have flown everywhere. We told the ladies at the front and they had a man come clean it for us which was very much appreciated. The baseboards were disgusting, it was super dirty under the beds, the shower curtain and towels had stains, and the beds also had a couple of stains on them.. they were clean, but stained. There were a lot of areas that just didn't seem well taken care of. The panels on the walls were coming apart, the ceilings had a ton of cracks, the attic access panels were so sketchy looking, and the floors were lifting in places. The ceiling fan glass was broken, and bulbs were missing, the other light fixtures had bugs in them. The restroom light fixture was rusty, gross looking and missing the cover on it. There was rust on the shower curtain rod, and the tub itself was just awful.. I didn't even want to step in it. It felt like you were going to fall through the sub floor while standing in it. The tile was replaced by fiberglass panels which is extremely unattractive and not what the photos showed at all. The tub and sink in the bathroom were constantly dripping and there was even a leak from the tub, leaving the floor wet in the bathroom at all times, and the kitchen sink was clogged. The doors to the bedroom and bathroom don't stay shut. The front door is also not super secure. It has glass on it which is also not shown in the photos.. so it felt very unsafe. Anyone could just break the glass and open the door. The yard area also looked very different in the photos. It's not well kept, it was grass I guess, but definitely not appealing in any way. It was overgrown and unattractive.. no landscaping at all. Also it is super loud in the room at night. We heard tons of loud cars driving up and down the street all night long. That's not any fault of the owners, just figured it was worth mentioning. With that being said, there were good things about our stay. The check in process was very easy. The key was in a lockbox with the code texted to me around 10am the morning of our check in. The ac worked well, although plastic pieces broken, it did produce cold air and we were very comfortable in the room. The beds were pretty comfortable (except for the pancake pillows), and the water was very hot. It could have been worse for sure.. I just personally don't think it was worth the amount of money I paid for the 2 nights. I've stayed in far nicer places for the amount we paid.

First time staying in motel type property, this place has 5 star review compared to the the other hotel properties in the area. Pulling up to the complex, it looks sketchy and run down. It didn't seem safe. Obviously it's an old town so similar places in the area look the same. We were ready to just leave and cancel our reservation even we lose one night. But I told my family to give it a chance. We went to our room and it's cute inside and super clean. The cleaning lady did an amazing job and our room was spotless. They even brought us clean towels the next day. Pool was open and it's decent size. We didn't get breakfast but they offer continental breakfast for the guests. You can also walk to downtown. I will say if u get passed the outside appearance of the property to give it a chance.

If my pockets were big enough, I'd ball up Alpine Inn stick it in my pocket and take it back home to Indiana with me. So, what makes a motor lodge in Hot Springs, Arkansas as cute as a button? Well, it could be the themed rooms, adorable and friendly Scottish owners (complete with the accents), complimentary breakfast muffins and granola bars in the room, proximity to downtown Hot Springs (walkable/bikeable), included mineral baths at Quapaw Bathhouse or, maybe the the official hotel cat that greets guests? Who's to say, but those are just a few guesses. Last but not least, only $70/night. All this to say, thank you dear Yelpers for yet again leading us to another great local find.

The Alpine Inn is cozy, clean and quaint. We spent 3 nights in room #7 which was decorated with an understated floral theme. Our room was equipped with a mini-fridge was big enough to house snacks and beer. We were impressed with the care that went into the restoration of this motel. With new carpet and fresh paint everything felt very clean and inviting. Other amenities include a delightful swimming pool, cable television and if you are so inclined a grill. The owners are a charming Scottish couple who are happy to attend to your needs. They can also recommend tourist attractions if you have any questions. This motel is located very close to bathouse row and the mountain tower. The Alpine Inn puts you exactly where you want to be. Highly Recommended!!

I normally search for good deals and stay in 4+star hotels. I've never stayed in a motel before, assuming them to be "less than." Recently, my daughter and I have been going on different weekly road trips. Being a fan of all things vintage, motels have been catching my eye and I decided while in hot springs we'd give one a try. Having, when previously in Hot Springs, stayed in luxury hotels (The Waters once and Hotel Hot Springs once), I was a bit nervous. Well, if Gold Inn Motel is a taste of what I've been missing by not staying in Motels, then I have been missing some great stays! This motel was as clean (actually cleaner than some) as any luxury hotel I've stayed in. The beds are AMAZING and much more comfortable than the Ritz Carlton I recently stayed in - actually more comfortable than any hotel bed I've ever stayed in. I totally feel like - given the decor - that I'm in a 1930's -40's film. It's the perfect mix of modern convenience and nostalgia! Finally, I can't say enough about the employees I've interacted with. They respond to every TEXT and request within seconds. Matt (I think) even came to my door at 9:00 pm at night, after I text asking where I could do laundry. When I opened the door, 5 minutes after texting, he was standing there with an empty laundry basket in hand and said "Just load this up and I'll wash and dry your clothes and return them to you tonight!" I mean is this service or what?! My daughter and I took this trip to get away from the devastation to and the lack of electricity in our home and our hometown due to Hurricane Laura. Thanks to Matt, Jacob, Kristen, and Kylee, we are returning to a difficult situation with renewed energy and the excitement of many more road trips to stay at Gold Inn and visit Hot Springs in the future. Thank you Gold Inn for setting the standard of how awesome a stay at a motel can be!

We loved this spot! I travel for work so I prefer something besides a basic hotel when traveling for fun and this remodeled roadside motel was exactly what I wanted. It was a great mix of hotel and home that made our stay perfect. We upgraded to the king suite and had room #16 which was in the cottage in the back. Plenty of parking, contactless check in with a lock box and key and we were good to go. Room was cool, clean and comfortable. The bathroom tub was awesome but I wished for a little more shelf space for my things until I realized the old timey medicine cabinet opened. Too cute. Has a small kitchen area with fridge and microwave, regular size trash can and a nice shelf. Bed was really comfortable. The property is nice, a bit far of a walk from downtown more because of some run down spots between here and there than the distance. The pool is beautiful and private from the road. The owners were quick to answer texts and bring us what we needed and even gave us some tickets to the tower. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay somewhere unique.

Cutest room ever!

I was able to spend two nights here on a recent road trip. The room was one of the cutest I've ever stayed in. It also felt impeccably clean. What it lacked in space it made up for in creative storage. The wall art centered on the National Park and fit well with the retro style of the hotel. They offer a limited breakfast but it was actually better than other hotels' offerings during Covid. The pool was delightful and made more charming by the garden bordering surrounding fence. The bathroom had wonderful shower, with places to set your shampoo etc., a very modern sink, and a cool mirror with great lighting and an anti-fog button. The only thing I would change would be a hook on the back of the bathroom door.

This is by no means a five star hotel, in the traditional sense, but it is a fantastic place to stay in Hot Springs.

Located in the heart of bath house row, this is a charming old building with modern touches. I will…read moresay that it was slightly difficult to find (we drove right by) as the front of the building is thin and doesn't stand out (look for the red/gold Ohio sign and it will help). There is valet parking immediately in front. The property was well maintained, the staff were friendly. Our room had a view of The Arlington and the mountain tower. The room was clean and well kept. The only complaint is the air unit was quite loud (thankfully I always travel with ear plugs). Overall I would stay again.

After being awakened by tornado warnings (both from my phone and alarms sounding off throughout the…read moretown), getting a small glimpse of the aurora borealis from the rooftop, being continually surprised at how good the food at the Avenue restaurant is, and questionable brushes with the paranormal, I can confidently say this was one of the most memorable stays at a hotel. Our initial room had a view of the wall next door and air conditioning units. I didn't want a week of a crappy view, so we asked to stay on a higher floor and they obliged with our request. We ended up in room 510 with a much better view of the town. The room was clean and modern, but the bathroom seemed small and the shower's partial glass meant water was continually spilling out onto the bathroom floor. Maybe add a full glass shower door? The exterior windows could use a washing as well. Seeing lots of spiderwebs (outside) was icky. There is no self-parking either. Valet parking is $30/day; not bad as I've stayed at other hotels (i.e., San Francisco and Los Angeles) where overnight parking is $75-$85. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. P.S. You may be wondering about the "questionable brushes with the paranormal" comment. Two strange occurrences happened to my bf who doesn't believe in anything paranormal. First was at the hotel lobby restroom. As he was washing his hands, the soap bottle moved a good 6 inches on its own. He lifted the bottle, thinking there was water underneath that caused it to move across the surface. Nope, no water. Side note; there's an old urinal from 1913 in the men's restroom located in that same bathroom (hotel lobby). Perhaps the ghosts like old urinals. Second, my bf went to the back exit, in an attempt to walk up the staircase that would eventually lead to the rooftop. When he saw there was a musician performing at the top staircase of the rooftop, he came back down and tried using his key card to enter the hotel. Spent a good ten minutes before he called me and asked to let him in. I met him at the door, he explained what happened. I used his key card to see if there was an issue with the card. Nope, key card worked and let me right in. In this situation, it could have been an odd glitch, but I do find it interesting that this happened right after the soap bottle incident. Last note... we were talking to a bartender from another restaurant who had worked at this hotel as a bartender a few years ago. She said she was closing up the bar one night and a basket from a top shelf had fallen off. It was only her and one other person and neither were near the area. Spooked her out quite a bit! COMING BACK? Absolutely. There are some minor inconveniences that I mentioned, but there was so much more that I loved about this hotel, especially its historic vibe.

Best Western - Road Trip Practicality Over Fancy Arrived…read more4/19-4/21 2026 We do a lot of long road trips, this one being a full six weeks, so priorities shift. At this point, I'll take a place where I can park right outside my door over a fancy, overpriced hotel any day. Convenience wins when you're living out of a suitcase. This location checked that box well. Easy access, practical, and overall a solid stop for the night. That said... breakfast. I've noticed over time that Best Western's breakfast quality has slipped a bit, and this location didn't help change that impression. What really threw me off was that it wasn't self-serve. Instead, you're standing there while someone portions your food. Not ideal when all you want is a quick, easy start to the day. A little "wait, what?" moment. The tougher part was the service during breakfast. Both mornings, the servers felt cold and uninviting. No warmth, no friendliness, and definitely none of that Southern charm you kind of hope for when you're traveling through the region. Overall, it did the job, and I'd still choose this kind of setup for road trips. But a better breakfast experience, both in quality and attitude, would make a big difference.

Best Western Winners Circle was our first overnight stay in our first visit ever to Arkansas on…read more7.19.2025. It also was a last minute change on my part. I had our entire itinerary planned and hotels reserved back in March, then decided to make a few changes after listening to a few new-to-me places from a friend who has been to Arkansas with her husband several times. Our 2 double beds room was $160.68. It's one of the nicest Best Westerns we had ever stayed at. That being said, it's not glitzy. Both beds were super stiff and uncomfortable. Of course my kids didn't complain because they are young. Lol. Dogs 30 lbs or less were welcome for a one-time $25 non-refundable fee per stay. My daughters and I loved their outdoor pool which closed at 10:30 PM. It was by far the cleanest pool we had used all year. Most of the staff members were all extremely friendly and used words like "sweetheart" and "darlin'." Just get over it if you usually don't appreciate niceties, manners, and that sort of thing. The breakfast had actual service - not the usual do-it-yourself set-up at most BWs. Kind of like cafeteria style, but they also brought plates out to customers. It just depended on the item. Huge fan for the price!
