The perform a passion play called the prince of peace which first ran during Easter 1926. Make sure you wear good solid shoes as there are many rocky areas. The site also has a memorial for the Oklahoma City bombing victims, a Veterans Walkway, and an 11-foot marble Christ statue. This past April they performed the 100th annual play.

The inside of the chapel is quite beautiful. If you're a Christian like myself and Glenda, so things are quite touching And meaningful. Well worth stopping if you're in the area. We've seen many articles online talking about this seemingly eerie place and decided to visit…read moreyesterday afternoon. We thought it was a much bigger forest but it wasn't small either, it was big enough. We explored mostly to the right side of the forest but saw people walking back out from the left. We spotted a cow towards the left that's why we didn't head that way. The tall trees were lined up like we've seen in pictures but there was not much else to see. It was an interesting sight to see nonetheless. Makes you wonder why the trees were planted in such a fashion. It was a nice and cool walk around under the trees too! On the way back out, the cow decided to start moving slowly and eventually blocked our way out of the forest. The husband and I slowly moved in the opposite direction and made as little noise as possible telling each other not to move suddenly or talk too loudly. The cow kept moving and eventually cleared our path. Phew ..... LoL ... Well that was fun if it wasn't for the cow!

The City of Apache is very near and dear to my heart. I used to spend many endless summers there as a little girl visiting my grandma and grandpa. We started in the old barn, where both employees & several volunteers were there to give us a quick run down of the family & what to expect. Then, we were led to the house & given the opportunity to explore! Each room is opulent with painted ceilings, ritzy carpets & very fancy furniture from the late 1800s. The history is amazing & was so fun to learn about. The volunteers were wonderful & knew a LOT of great facts. We LOVED our time & are hoping to return around Christmas.

Especially in terms of classical beauty and architecture. It looks old and yet new. It's different... but the same. Oh wait I was channeling Bill & Ted. It looks so quaint it could be in Disneyland - but it's absolutely real and not fake at all. Unlike my girl. The story board tells the history. The caboose is in very good shape but the stairs and ladders are removed to keep people from playing on it and possibly getting hurt or damaging something.
