Extremely disappointed with this clinic…read more I made an appointment for my child because I was concerned about his teeth and wanted the doctor to examine him. I clearly explained my concerns, and I was told that they could see him the next day. However, just 20 minutes before the scheduled appointment, I received a message saying that the appointment was canceled and that the doctor could no longer see my child. I called the office and explained that I was very concerned and asked if the doctor could at least take a quick look at my child so I could have some peace of mind. I was told that this was not possible. Instead, I was given another address and told that I would need to make a separate appointment there and have my child evaluated. I was also disappointed with the clinic itself. Based on my experience, I did not feel that the clinic was professional or that my concerns were being taken seriously. I called again afterward to explain the situation, and I was told that the doctor would contact me. To this day, I have never received a call from the doctor. As a parent, I expect better communication, professionalism, and consideration when it comes to my child's health. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I do not recommend this clinic.

The office is also Spanish speaking. My appointment was schedule for 11:00am and I arrived ten minutes early knowing I would have some new patient forms to fill out. It was around 11:15am that I was called back. They a LOT of patient "rooms", but had only a few people working on this particular Saturday morning perhaps because it seems there is only one doctor. I received a routine teeth cleaning, and was very pleased with the service provided. The hygienist, Denise, was very nice and gentle on my gums. She and Dr. Obaidi used an electro sonic method to clean my teeth, followed by polishing and flossing. I would recommend their dental services based on my experience. [They do have a promotional contest/reward running for leaving them a 5- star review on Google, which makes me question some of those reviews. Unfortunately most businesses do function that way now-a-days it seems, which is another reason I continue to prefer Yelp for reliable reviews.]

First off, I must say, most employees here at friendly. However, customer satisfaction is clearly…read morenot their goal at all. My story began as a referral from a coworker. I was looking for a new dentist. I went, everything was great. Although, after a couple more visits that's when it took a turn. Long story short, I went in for a routine cleaning. Now I will say, life got the best of me and I didn't make it in when I should have. Nevertheless, that shouldn't have altered what proceeded to happen. I am in the chair, getting the work done. They are doing different tests, measurements and procedures. To my understanding as well as other healthcare professionals I've directly spoken to, you should always be informed of cost that's not going to be covered by your insurance. Upon getting ready to check out, I'm told that I have an outstanding balance. I was taken back because no one informed me of this at all. Now let's put this into perspective. If you were to say for example, go get repairs done to your vehicle. You go in for an oil change that's supposed to be covered by a plan that you have. Then all of a sudden the technician inspecting the car finds out that the car needs additional repairs outside of the oil change. So they go ahead and do them. You get to the cashier and are told you owe X amount of dollars. How would that make you feel? That would make you feel as if you were taken advantage of, right? You have homeowners insurance, you file a claim and then all of a sudden the contractor said there was more work they found a long the way. It needed to be done, so they just did it, but insurance doesn't cover it so you're responsible whether you like it or not. I had pleaded my case numerous times to the facility. I asked to speak to a manager, she had informed me that there was nothing that she could do and the reason for the additional charges was that I was out of network for their facility. My insurance provider or plan didn't change, so I had no idea I was out of network. I scheduled the appointment appropriately & then was told upon exit that I had a balance. So obviously, they knew, but never informed me of such changes. Sure, is that on me to some degree, yes, but coming from the business that I'm in, if I know for a fact that someone's terms have changed, I am absolutely going to inform them. It's the right thing to do. As a consumer, hearing this information you feel very taken advantage of. Recently, I received a notice that I'm being sent to collections for the amount I owe. So I called in again as a last stich effort to try and make amends here. The area manager refuses to call me back after numerous attempts. Mind you, this is someone new that has filled the role because the previous person I spoke to isn't there anymore. Regardless of the fact, as a manager, it's your responsibility to ensure business flows accordingly. All that is happening here is that someone is sitting behind a desk and not willing to call a customer that has a concern. That right there shows me all that I need to know about this business. They are money hungry enough to send someone to collections over a bill that's less than $200. In my business, I take care of things for customers that are created problems by our team or problems created by the customer. However, in the sake of our reputation & long term business with the customer, sometimes you just do what you have to do & move on. That being said, I personally would never recommend anyone to go to this business for these reasons above. They are negligent to keeping their customers informed. The manager refuses to call you back and isn't even in the actual office itself. So good luck if you want to speak to her when you're there, she works from home. You aren't provided with her contact information. I contact customers from my cell phone on my days off because I genuinely care about their concerns. This business will nickel and dime you because they are more worried about making a profit off of you versus doing what's right long term. If you want to be treated like an individual that is valued, seek assistance elsewhere.

*UPDATE! I got my wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Patel today,…read moreand although I was dreading it, it was overall a really great experience (as good as extracting teeth can be, hah). My biggest fear wasn't necessarily the procedure itself, but the numbing beforehand (I have a phobia of not feeling pain, weird, I know). Dr. Patel was incredibly understanding and talked to me through the entire numbing process and procedure itself. He explained where he was numbing and why, and what areas it might affect. It was very calming. The procedure was so fast, and I felt nothing during it. I'm 32 now, and I've waited so long to have my wisdom teeth removed out of fear. I'm glad I just did it already. *ORIGINAL REVIEW (Which I don't want to change!) I've been coming to this office for almost 10 years now. Prior to that I dreaded going to the dentist but Caring Smiles is wonderful. The staff and doctor are super personable and really do invest in each patient as an individual. They are tech friendly with reminders, scheduling, billing, and have very nice, new equipment. I don't think I've ever waited more than 10 mins for room placement or to see the doctor. Since I've started coming I have recommended everyone that is in the market for a great dentist. Their office is conveniently located with tons of parking and has great ambiance. You can even email for an appt, which I love because I hate talking on the phone. Highly Recommend!

She really does care about the health and progress of your ortho treatment and will walk you through what's going on which is comforting to me. The Facility: The entrance to the office is behind the small strip mall. Turn into the strip mall with the jimmy johns on skokie valley blvd. The office is modern looking and clean. There's an XBOX and TV in the waiting room. The main patient area is an open space with a row of patient chairs. Most ortho appointments are quick 30 min appointments so I think that's why they designed it like that. This is a small detail, but I like how they have different flavored gloves. I'm sure it's for the kids, but hey big people like them too. :) The only drawback for me is that their offices are so far away. But for the high level of service they offer, I drive willingly to get my teeth taken care of.

Sure, the front desk and initial visit feel overly welcoming, but that quickly fades once you're actually in the chair. The quality of care during treatment is completely different; rushed, inattentive, and honestly frustrating. There's a clear disconnect between how they present themselves upfront and how things actually run behind the scenes. Another huge red flag is how often the staff changes. Every time I've been there, it feels like there's a whole new team. That kind of turnover says a lot, and it definitely affects the consistency of care. The doctor herself is very avoidant. It's hard to get direct answers or feel like your concerns are being taken seriously. On top of that, not even wearing loupes during procedures feels unprofessional and careless & especially in a setting where precision matters. On top of everything, the office itself is noticeably dirty. It doesn't feel clean or well-maintained, which is the last thing you want in a medical or dental setting. It honestly made me question the hygiene standards and overall professionalism of the place. By the way they erased my google review!!
