The Mount Nevis Hotel provides a scenic and relaxing experience. The rooms are clean and spacious. Customer service is spectacular and there is always someone willing to accomodate.
The most amazing thing about the Mount Nevis Hotel is its kitchen. Chef Liam Haddow originates from London. He has worked in many restaurants around the world, and most notably one that holds Michelin star status.
For dinner, I ordered the surf and turf. The prawns were stunning and cooked to perfection. They were flaky and had rich buttery flavor. The steak was tender and cooked as requested. My personal favorite was the sweet potato garnish, it made the meal earthy and balanced. Above all, Chef Liam knows how to cook a carrot. It was crisp but flavorful and helped with cleansing my palate.
As amazing as dinner was, breakfast really sold me. I ordered a fry up, which is essentially a breakfast sampler. I have never in my life had a better poached egg. It was creamy and buttery, accompanied perfectly by homemade toast. My only regret is I wish I ordered 4 eggs instead of 2. The bacon was crispy and tangy, it complimented the plate and left me wanting more. Chef Liam was also very accommodating and careful about food allergies. He provided us with free refreshments prior to breakfast coming.
The most amazing thing about this experience was witnessing passion in cooking again. It has been so long since I had a meal that I could say changed me. It gave me the motivation to take on the week upon returning home. Chef Liam truly is a superstar and deserves so much recognition for his craft. I will be returning as soon as I can. read more
