They neglected to tell me there was a legal document they would need from me, until they got my child in the chair for his procedure. The "office manager" and i do use that term loosely, was unapologetic and offered no explanation. We spent 4.5 hours of a day for a 45 minute event. That is a lot of work to miss unnecessarily. The care was fine. Don't even expect customer service.

As soon as my son walked out of the office he face timed me to let me know that when they were checking out the lady was rude. him and my mom both said that when they walked to check out my daughter who works there came to the check out desk and said hey this is Austin smith and needs a school note... and the lady whipped her chair around and said she doesn't work here can't you tell in a very rude tone, that embarrassed my son, daughter, and mom. but my mom and son didn't know the girl that was sitting with that lady didn't work there bc she was sitting behind the computer. There were people around who heard how she spoke to my daughter and I don't feel like employees should be talked to that way.

There's one touchscreen tucked back in a dark corner. A child in the back of the office where are the procedures are done, crying because he was all by himself for a long time. I myself went to comfort him and then pointed it out to the staff who finally said "oh, let's go find your mom." So in case you're one of those people who think children don't need to feel safe and happy, money probably talks to you: Attached is a picture of the estimate and bill for the procedure my son was to have . I listened to my intuition got feeling and thought of my nine-year-old son who verbalize likewise. Let's get out of here. We did not return nor did we have any procedure done there. We elected to go to Dr. Meg in Matthews. The bill before insurance was in the 300s and I paid 80 out of pocket. Please compare that to the estimate this doctor gave me for a deep filling to be done on a baby tooth.

Right after the work was done I was told ai owed $1200 for it. My question was why was it almost 3x what I was quoted right before the work was done? The response was that the person doing the quote made a mistake. If I had been told it was $1200 beforehand I would have changed my appointment to the following year so I could use medical flex. The business office has not handled this well, and I will not return to the office because I can't trust their estimates

The staff at South Gaston Pediatric Dentistry are very friendly and made my child comfortable. That…read moreis why we went forward with their suggestion to put my child under anesthesia for a crown and two fillings. Less than 18 months later, the two fillings had randomly fallen out. The first was repaired in the office. When the second filling fell out, they immediately said we would need to put her under again and get a second crown. They also said that she had another cavity and would need an additional filling. This would be a minimum of $2500 out of pocket, but that is not the point. They were recommending that she go under anesthesia for a second time, a second crown, and an additional filling. I did not feel comfortable about the recommendation and took her for a second opinion. She needed no dental work of any kind. There was no additional cavity anywhere. She did not need another crown. When I showed the proposed treatment plan to the new dentist, they discovered it called for a root canal on a baby tooth. South Gaston Pediatric Dentistry had not even mentioned that to me. Please do not take your child here. I almost allowed them to put my child under general anesthesia for absolutely no reason. There is no excuse for giving an unnecessary treatment plan like this. When I spoke to management at South Gaston Pediatric Dentistry they refunded our deposit immediately. She simply said "I am sorry that happened to you." They never even defended their actions. I believe that is because they do this on a regular basis.

I recently took my grandson to this clinic and he was treated with disregard. We weree givene a set of instructions to follow and a list of procedures that would be covered during the treatment. None of which was adhered to when we arrived. Dr. Laetitia Sery, did more to scare my grandson than make him feel relaxed for a dental procedure. Her website states that she loves working with children and their families. If this is true it was not on display during our visit. I do not recommend taken young children here.
