This is an awesome shop. Picked up two bikes last weekend and they're A+. I worked mainly with Justin and he's really straight forward and an awesome person to work with. Very happy with our purchases. I will be honest, I was slightly hesitant coming all the way from SFV, but right away Joe made my husband and I feel really comfortable. If you need bikes, parts..etc. check out this place. I loooove our new bikes.

Thanks Joe, for keeping my babies running!

I can't believe that I hadn't reviewed this shop yet! I've been bringing my bikes here since the day they opened for all sorts of accessories, service, etc. Every time they have exceeded my expectations and delivered great service at a very fair price. Whether I've needed tires, oil changes, body work replaced or riding gear, Joe has treated me great. Honestly, for a guy like me who owns multiple bikes but isn't very good mechanically (understatement!)....I don't think I could enjoy motorcycling half as much without this shop close by. Give them a try and you'll come back time and time again!

He took the time necessary to ensure I'm familar with the purchase and the bike itself. Its a well stocked store so it certainly can become your go to location for anything motor sports realted.

This was the second service. The first was done at another shop. I figured I would give PSM the work knowing the history of them and why they relocated. I took it on a Monday and explained what needed to be done, Brian called me on Tuesday to clear up a few things all seemed well. I called them on Friday afternoon to check the progress. Brian explains that the work was complete however said that the crank bearing is bad and that the motor would need to rebuilt or replaced. I explained that was impossible the bike ran great. They tried to say the oil was low. I explained that I have 5 motorcycles and still ride and I had just checked the oil a week before. I went to the shop to talk to Jay the mechanic. He said there was a noise in the motor which I could not hear. He said to me the oil was low. I explained if the oil was that low why didn't the oil light come on. He had no answer . He said he rode it in the parking lot and that you could tell the bearing was bad. So I payed the bill for the service and decided to ride back home. The Vespa ran absolutely perfect no hesitation, no noise. On my way home i decided to ride it to Joe who owns the shop on HWY111 just East of Portola. Keep in mind Joe is an official Vespa dealer as well. I explained the scenario to him and asked him to take a look. We went out and started it he asked if he could take it for a ride. He came beck in about 10 minutes and said the motor is sound and nothing is wrong with it. I feel that PSM didn't know my motorcycle experience and thought I would say just replace the motor or trade the bike in. I do not recommend you take anything here for service if that's how they are going to conduct business. I will post this review on every platform I can. Also I have ridden the Vespa over 250 miles since it as diagnosed with a bad crank bearing.

"Bad Habit" is a play on words... It's the place you go to when your ride needs some updates…read more(performance & shiny stuff.) Started as a small shop doing mostly American v-twin motorcycles, but over the years it expanded with the needs of the customer base. But, the mid 2000's hit hard and fun money was gone. 2000: Opened in suit C and the idea to serve the community began. Curtis and Charlie were the main v-twin machanics. 2002: Business expanded at the location to accommodate more work space and performance space, suit B was added. 2004: Darrin and Jason brought in the large watercraft such as Eliminator, Ultra and Commander Boats (30' to 55'+.) 2005: (summer) With space for bikes and boats one last section was needed... Powerful classic super cars like the a/c Cobra and Don joined the team. RIP Don. During those wonderful, yet challenging days, there were opportunities to celebrate the goodtimes. The location was used for private "after hours" Coachella events. BB also found the location a handful of times for his events. And of course we treated our customers to some very fun shows and entertainment through those years. Grammy Award winning "Skillet" played 3 different concerts (right out of the shop, which had acquired stage and lighting to make it a real show.) The shows were huge and wish I could remember all the people that we met and the stories that were shared. The last show was May 11, 2007. AMAZING! 2007: December That was the month that we closed. Went through so many great events and learned how to be more than only a business... We were part of the community of Palm Desert and surrounding Coachella cities. We did trips, and Bike weeks and trailered tons of stuff all over. Met all sorts of families and groups and had a blast. Yes, there were challenges and hardships too, but all the great things took place and that's incredible to consider those moments in life. The economy just wasn't for a shop like us, basically caring for the needs of families with very expensive "toys." When it gets tight on money hot rods and hot bikes and hot boats just don't make it... Or least we didn't :( Today is a new day and you never know what might happen. Hope to hear from those out there. Be fun to hear of successes and how B Habit was part of your memories, it's all part of this life.

I finally became stranded and towed the bike into the shop at the end of the day on Friday night. The top mechanic, Scott Guess, carefully rode the bike off the tow ramp and then diagnosed the problem within a few seconds. The culprit was a short in the kill-switch. He promised to take it apart the following day (Saturday) and restore it to a serviceable level. With some concern, I took him at his word, and he called me around 5:00 pm yesterday, with the news that he had finished the work. Because I was not able to line-up a ride to pick up my bike, the new owner, Joseph Gilman, rode my bike to my house and I drove him in my car back to their shop. This unprecedented act going above and beyond the call of duty accounts in part for why I have given the business five stars in this review. This shop's labor rate is $75 an hour and although they reported that over two hours was spent fixing my bike, they charged me $150. The truth is that the worn-out module that houses the kill-switch, cruise control, and starter button needs to be replaced. This expedient temporary fix was the best solution to insure that I would have access to my bike, and Scott made the right call on this, stepped-up to the plate and pulled me out of the ditch on this one for which I'm grateful. The last thing I wanted was the inconvenience of having my bike sitting in the shop waiting for parts. Overall, I'm impressed with the honesty and concern for the customer expressed by Joseph, and the expertise and steady hand of Scott, the main mechanic. They also employ two additional mechanics and their labor rate is around $20 less than the dealer rate. Since there presently is no Honda Dealer in the Coachella Valley, and Scott is a seasoned veteran of this brand, they are filling an important niche that otherwise doesn't exist. Wherever you have a business that has to diagnose mechanical problems and then order parts, there will always be some customers who have to wait a little longer than others. Lastly, we all know that by and large, good news doesn't sell. Reason suggests that there must be a lot of bikers that have received good service from this shop, but simply haven't taken the time to write positive reviews to help this shop grow and thrive in our community. I will return to this shop for service in the future, as I prefer the convenience of doing business locally, and because of their recent re-organization and customer service.
