The mall opened in 2007 and the interior still feels modern, especially in comparison to the rest of the city. It's pretty much a straight high-street-style walk throughout the mall, with a small number of food and drink outlets upstairs including Starbucks and Nando's. The main flagship store in the mall is a large Tesco supermarket, this remains open between 6 am and 12 am between Monday and Saturday, even when the mall shuts much earlier. Between the hours of 7 pm and 12 am when the mall is closed and Tesco is open, you can expect to be allowed to enter the mall, but only for Tesco with barriers in place. Again, I do find the mall shuts a little early, while the centre remains open until 7 pm, most of the stores end up closing an hour earlier and starting to wind down even before that. With the location of Hull pretty much in the sticks, with few alternatives nearby, this makes it even more frustrating for people who prefer to go out in the afternoons and evenings. The selection of stores within the centre is OK. Brands located here include Boots, EE, JD Sports, Superdrug, TK Maxx and a couple of others. The security at the front seemed friendly, and helped offer directions elsewhere in the centre, although they could have done with being inside the mall, due to groups of children loitering, and littering, which meant the mall was untidy and I was having to watch my step to avoid getting something stuck to my shoe. Again, lots of wasted potential, and the best out of a bad bunch of places to shop while in Hull. 3*

It's built over Prince's Dock which adds a unique twist to the centre, meaning as you walk along, you can see the river which looks so beautiful in the sunshine, yet the mall is full of either cheap, tacky stores or empty units. There are very few familiar brands in terms of shopping, other than a large Primark store. It does get better for food and drink, with some options including Nando's and Pizza Express and for leisure, there's a Vue cinema. The security staff in the mall didn't seem too friendly and made me feel uncomfortable just for wanting to visit Pizza Express. This place has so much potential, they need to shut the place down for however long it takes to renovate the mall and fill the empty units, as for now this is only going to be a place one would visit if heading to the cinema or a specific brand within the mall, it just seems depressing to walk through. 2*

I was never a next fan until the store relocated to st stephens shopping centre but now I seem to find whatever I am looking for here. The changing rooms are huge with great service from the sales staff. I will never doubt next again. Its great to have a decent sized store in Hull for a change instead of having to go to another city.

Offering a wide variety of brands such as Atticus, Famous Stars and Straps Clothing, Criminal Damage Clothing, Poizen Industries, Lowlife, Iron Fist, Dickies, Vans, Converse, Frender, Emily The Strange, Vans, Silver Star and Osiris. This store is just what Hull needed in upkeeping with the current goth, punk or EMO trends. The atmosphere is relaxed and staff are friendly and helpful - and plays some fab rock and alternative music all day every day.

Envy stocks mens and womens clothing, but not childrens. The range of accessories is especially minute- limited normally to a couple of belts, bags and scarves. The stock in this store is always well merchandised, and seperated within the relevant designers groups. Therefore, it is easy to find the designer that you are looking for. The 'Designers' at this store include Tom Wolfe and Ben Sherman, among others. The size ranges tend to be quite limited-starting at an 8, they nomally finish at a 14-16. I believe this is the designers choice and availability though, and nothing to do with Envy itself. The store itself is quite small, although very easy to find as it is in a prominent position. It is also well laid out, with mens on one side, ladies on the other, wih the accessories to the rear of the store.
