My sister and I arrived with our four month old babies after travelling quite a way to be greeted with a frosty attitude from both mother and daughter in the shop, the pram my sister had wouldnt fit in the shop properly (which we could have taken the baby out of) but once the women realised we didnt have an appointment we were practically ushered out of the door, i can not believe that an independant shop like this would turn away a customer wanting to buy 4 bridesmaid dresses!!! I did however ring up the shop 5minutes later and asked if it would be possible to go and view dresses without trying any on, to which i got told there was no problem?? so was it the pram and the car seat that caused a problem?? who knows, but dont be fooled by the polite telephone manner at this shop, it doesnt match the poor nasty customer service you recieve in the shop. not nice ladies at all !!!

St Stephen's Shopping Centre is the main shopping centre serving the town centre of Hull in the…read moreEast Riding of Yorkshire, the location within the city is good, it's pretty much right next to the train station. The mall opened in 2007 and the interior still feels modern, especially in comparison to the rest of the city. It's pretty much a straight high-street-style walk throughout the mall, with a small number of food and drink outlets upstairs including Starbucks and Nando's. The main flagship store in the mall is a large Tesco supermarket, this remains open between 6 am and 12 am between Monday and Saturday, even when the mall shuts much earlier. Between the hours of 7 pm and 12 am when the mall is closed and Tesco is open, you can expect to be allowed to enter the mall, but only for Tesco with barriers in place. Again, I do find the mall shuts a little early, while the centre remains open until 7 pm, most of the stores end up closing an hour earlier and starting to wind down even before that. With the location of Hull pretty much in the sticks, with few alternatives nearby, this makes it even more frustrating for people who prefer to go out in the afternoons and evenings. The selection of stores within the centre is OK. Brands located here include Boots, EE, JD Sports, Superdrug, TK Maxx and a couple of others. The security at the front seemed friendly, and helped offer directions elsewhere in the centre, although they could have done with being inside the mall, due to groups of children loitering, and littering, which meant the mall was untidy and I was having to watch my step to avoid getting something stuck to my shoe. Again, lots of wasted potential, and the best out of a bad bunch of places to shop while in Hull. 3*
