Nice staff, very helpful, nice room, fantastic sheets on the bed. Easy parking (but I wish spaces were 6" wider.)

Very disappointing stay Unfortunately, this motel was not very clean. I have photos showing a dirty mirror, dog hair and grime along the bathtub, and corners of walls and a spider on the wall behind the chair and one in the bathroom. There was also a lot of dust on the headboards, and the corners of the floors throughout the room were visibly filthy. The beds were poorly made. The blanket on one bed was hanging all the way to the floor, and the sheets did not fit tightly or stay properly in place. The pillows were another major problem. There were eight pillows between two beds, but quantity doesn't make up for quality. They were extremely flat and provided virtually no support. I didn't sleep well and I woke up with a terrible, painful neck. This motel seriously needs to improve its housekeeping and invest in fewer, better-quality pillows that actually provide support. For what we paid, I expected a clean and comfortable room. Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing, and I would not stay here again. The staff was very nice but only joked about the spiders and they were not concerned about the filth. **I was there to have surgery and I always bring stuff to disinfect the room I'm staying in. I don't mind spiders but these ones moved. One got stepped on. I would have contacted the office upon arrival but I wasn't feeling well enough to bother. And I didn't even notice the spiders, bugs and filth until the day I had surgery. read more

This was the cleanest lodging I have stayed in in a very long time. As soon as I opened the door you could smell the Clean. No perfumy smell which is rare now days. Just clean fresh air. It was much cheaper than the so called upper end hotels. I will Definately stay there from now on when I go through Idaho Falls. read more

Comfy place, good for a short trip. Rooms have the bare essentials of a hotel/motel, no complaints. Friendly staff. Located in an alright area. Only complaint is that the doors can be rather loud in the hallways if people don't bother to shut them lightly (most did not), but that's not of the motels fault. read more

Love this place! Laid back vibe, which I needed after complicated oral surgery. Several restaurants in area will deliver. Didn't have the chance to try out pool and hot tub, but looked inviting! read more

On Dec 16th my grandson and his friends drove to Idaho Falls, Id to visit with a friend. Before they left they got a room at this hotel. When they got there the attendant would not let them stay because they were all only 18. He refused to give a refund and made them leave the hotel. I understand if it's their policy to not let people under the age of 21 stay but they need to refund the money back. I checked out their website and no where on it does it state that you have to be 21 to stay there. Nor does it state that if you make a reservation and are under the age of 21 they will refuse a refund and you will not be able to stay. This is a horrible thing to do. My grandson and his friends were scared and worried.I sent them money and they were able to secure another room but this was a really crappy thing to do and a horrible experience! DO NOT trust this hotel! read more

If you're looking for a clean room and great nights sleep this is you no frills hotel. The bedspread needs some updating if you care about that. I was passing through town and looking for a clean place to sleep. The gal at the front desk was very kind and even gave me a discount coupon for breakfast. Definitely go to the Zone for something to eat too. read more

Family owned, Friendly staff, and clean rooms for a great price. I booked a 2 bed room for my father who was vacationing the surrounding area. He was happy with the room and the price. I called to confirm his reservation and requested 1st floor and they were able to accommodate. If dad is happy, I'm happy. Although I did not stay here, I'm ratings to support for all of our family owned/small business owners and to show my appreciation. Thank you for accommodating my dad. read more

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. There rooms were super clean. Beds were very comfortable, sheets and everything else about the room clean. Did I mention how clean everything was? Super helpful staff that helped with printouts and packet free breakfast. The rooms had many outlets to charge whatever we needed. They were wonderfully pet friendly. We found that they stocked their rooms with a surplus of toiletries which came in handy. Thanks motel West we really appreciate you guys being there for us during this time. Stay safe read more

I stayed here recently, and I was really happy with it. The room was clean and a nice set up. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and they have complimentary breakfast. Just off the freeway, it's really easy to get to also. Good pricing for the room and it's in a safe area, which is always important. I would definitely stay here again! read more

Understated former apartment complex turned into mid-range priced motel. They have a decent breakfast in the morning, cookies at the front desk in the afternoon and evening, and friendly staff to complement the clean room and okay wifi. It's a solid 2 hours from Grand Tetons via winding 2 lane roads, so not a good option for visiting there for the day, but good to stop after visiting the Tetons on your way to other places. read more

The walls are cinder block but do nothing to stop the noise from adjoining rooms . Neighbors yelled at the tv until 2 in the morning. The toilet flush valve makes a terrible screeching noise half of the time. But you get what you pay for. The room smelled for bug spray, but looked fairly clean. No complaints about house keeping read more

This place has 4 star reviews in almost every online booking I have checked.. we were exited to arrive around 10 pm to have a hot shower and relax for the night .. since we spend our day in Yellowstone and we wanted to start heading home (CA). The breakfast is not offered due to closed restaurants (Covid) yes this is June 2021 review! But the reason I give 2 stars is that there was no hot water to shower. We are i. Room 283! 10 pm and no hot water. That's rule n1 right ?? Hot water and a good mattress.. Husband had a cold shower and I had a semi luke warm after letting run 20 mins plus and almost ripping the shower faucet off! Now the batteries of the tv are not working.. Rooms look that have been upgraded but the whole building is old and shady corridors ..Sri my carpets and stinky walls. And this place is sold out! Has an indoor pool and hot tub .. but seriously offer a hot shower to your guests! I would have put one star but I like the bed so here I put two due to that.. but will not return.. read more

Motel West - We can't change the tv channel.. bad batteries!! - Hotels Near Me - Idaho Falls, Idaho

I'm not the type that normally does this but I had an experience that really upset me and felt that I needed to tell other people to stay away from this place. There is a place called Motel West in Idaho Falls. We drove down for a graduation and stayed at this place as other ones were booked. Expedia gave it 4.1 out of five and the price was decent. Long story short after a broken light that was exposed in a swimming pool, scum floating on top of the water in both the swimming pool and the hot tub and spiders and bedbugs with major rash and bites. We were there only one out of four nights and when I went and talk to the person at the front desk she called her manager and the manager would only give us two of the four nights refunded plus charged us A $25 cancellation fee. There are also stains on the sheets. Here is a video of the water. Stay away from this please and pass the word along. I was hoping they would want to make things right but was quite rude and ignorant and so therefore I am warning others read more

Great room! Clean! And Miss Bette is the absolute best! She helped me out in several different ways and I really appreciate it. The front desk staff is nice. Thanks again! Do not hesitate to stay here! read more

As far as MOTELS go, this one is 5 stars. What I think that some of the reviewers fail to keep in mind is that it is STILL a MOTEL. So of course it's probably not going to be the most updated, beautiful and comfortable place you've ever stayed. That's the POINT. My boyfriend and I stayed here on the drive from Yosemite to Yellowstone. Would TOTALLY recommend this as a place to stay if you too are heading west to east- it was probably about a two hour drive to the park in the morning. Super easy. Check in was smooth (grab a free cookie!) and we got a great price -$60. This was about $30 cheaper than everywhere else in the area. The room was nice and soundproof. It felt safe. Bed was surprisingly comfortable, and after making the room super cool it felt really nice to cuddle up in bed. Plenty of towels, shampoo, etc. My boyfriend and I checked out the hot tub which was kind of fun. How often do you get to say you went hot tubbing in Idaho? In the morning, there was a generous free breakfast. Nothing outstanding but very thoughtful. Try the cinnamon rolls. Overall super happy we found this place! Don't hesitate to stay here! read more

My bf got bitten and got lots of red spots in arms and legs. I felt so much itchy in the bed. Will never go back there.:(

Older motel, but very CLEAN (no mold, dirt). A little wear evidence. Front desk staff very pleasant, helpful, informative. Beds were comfortable, new bedding and pillows. I needed to have ice bars frozen (room frig didn't have one) so they took me andkitchen freezer. read more

Wow what an experience that will never happen again. Paid $95 a nite. Moved to three different rooms because their wifi was crap. Multiple others complained. When I went into the office the next day after all this the the manager told me there was a note stating how rude I was. This is after I hugged the night shift gal at 430 this morning thanking her. I'm a local, can't imagine how out of staters get treated. The manager had no apology, she told me she was going to allow me to stay another night but I was not really welcome. Demanded my money back gave her a few choice words. She said and I quote "go ahead and go online to rate us one star, that doesn't mean sh-t any more." Family owned does not mean good. read more

I love these guys! There is few places I like staying but none more than here. The staff are all welcoming and helpful.

Cool little place. Rooms are great, clean. they have a mom&pop restaurant attached, which I wasn't able to try(was during lockdown) but seemed like it was a good place, well taken care of. It was quiet and peaceful and not far from the main river area read more

Convenient place off the highway. Booked on my way back West on a road trip. Last minute booking made online. Rooms are OK. A little dated and dusty. Could be cleaner. The tub doesn't drain easily so taking a shower involves standing almost knee deep in your own dirty water. Pretty unpleasant for the person showering afterwards as the slow drain leaves a nice ring of soap scum around the tub and on the shower curtain. The front desk is friendly and efficient but the lot is a little rough around the edges. There's an indoor pool but I didn't visit. Seemed small and crowded. Breakfast is included with the room. Biscuits, egg party, sausage patty, cereal, coffee and yoghurt. I'd probably stay somewhere else next time. Not worth the room rate. read more

Quiet. Comfie beds and clean. Super friendly and helpful staff. Only complaint is tub was stained but also clean. Would stay there again. Good value. read more

They have nonsmoking rooms and cheaper smoking rooms here. This review is for the latter. You'll get a much cheaper rate for the smoking room but believe me, you get what you paid for. The smell of smoke is overwhelming and the carpet is iffy in its cleanliness. There's also the smell of mildew on the towels and sheets. My wife also felt itchy and had a mild rash after sleeping on the beds. The next day when we stayed in a different hotel with a nonsmoking room, her shirt still smelled of the smoke. I often don't mind staying in lower quality motels as long as they're cheap but this one is definitely not worth your money. read more

We stayed here over the 4th of July, which means lodging was few and far between, and expensive. We got two rooms here at Motel West, for $50/ea. It's a solid value for the price, but you definitely get what you pay for. I grew up a block away from here so I was not coming here blindly, but my family was a little apprehensive when we arrived. Railene at the front desk was very nice, but was more like a friend who's letting you crash at her house, it was very informal, kind of charming really. The carpet in the corridor was water stained and looked awful, but not a big deal. Our rooms were decent, albeit they could definitely use some updating, they only had smoking rooms left when we booked and when we checked in, we tried to switch to nonsmoking, but they were full. The rooms themselves are spacious, clean, and the beds are very comfy. The fridge and microwave are a great touch, even though the microwave in our teenagers' room didn't work. The only real negatives were having to sleep in the chain smoking section, but that's not their fault that they were sold out on a holiday weekend, and the so-called "Wi-Fi" was a complete joke. They have two networks for guests to use, but we barely got one bar, and even that kept dropping. Like I said before, it's a great value for $50. If you can come with an open mind and don't expect the Hilton, you'll enjoy it here! read more

I have not stayed in many motels, but my stay at the Motel West will surely be memorable. Booking, with ease and discounted on hotels.com. The check-in, free cookies! The bed, cozy. I stayed here on the fourth of july. Unfortunately for me I ended up with a stinky smoking room. Front desk ladies were very rude for no reason.
