This is a new location built approximately two years ago and everything is still in great condition. It has modern and sleek decor. We booked a 'suite' for our family. Unfortunately they don't offer multiple room suites here, just a larger-than-average room with extra seating and another TV/hutch. (If there had been a partition separating the bedroom and living area, it would have upped the rating for me.) As it was, we loved the location and the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room. Breakfast is decent. You will find something acceptable in the various offerings they include (even bacon, sausages, eggs). As a minor complaint, the pool was quite small and there was no separate wading pool for young kids. The shallowest part of the pool was still 3.3 feet deep. That being said, we would stay here again given the chance.

They even had a promotion on for free pancakes at night until midnight!! I'd be thrilled to stop here again on another trip between the east coast and Ontario. Free breakfast and wifi with your stay, and a 24hr fitness centre. I felt like I hadn't ever been on a hotel that looked like this. Even the art felt new and fresh and modern.

The Long Version: My husband and I stayed at the Best Western in Laval recently and we thought it was good. It's only 4 floors, and the 4th floor only has 2 guest rooms and a conference room (named the Chomedy Room). We were in one of those 2 guest rooms and it was huge. Like bigger than my studio apartment that I lived in during university, lol. We had a king bed, a faux leather couch, a desk, and a dinette set. There was a flat screen TV, coffee maker, mini fridge with small freezer and a microwave. There was a double closet. The entire room was so spacious. We could have literally done cartwheels around the room. This was such a refreshing change from the small and cramped rooms at other Best Westerns. And I've noticed a trend that many hotels are removing microwaves from the rooms, so I was glad we had a microwave. I also enjoyed the non-carpeted floors, much more hygienic, IMO. There's a spiral staircase connecting the first 3 floors. Then an enclosed staircase from the 3rd to 4th floor. Admittedly, I felt it was a bit creepy being on the 4th floor because no one else was around (I don't think the other room was occupied and the conference room was full of chairs and other equipment, so I think it's mostly used for storage instead of a true conference room). And in the elevator there's a list of all the rooms and amenities and what floor they are on and the list makes no mention of the 4th floor. The windows on the 4th floor look out onto the roof, which felt a bit creepy to me too. Lol. Anyway, I think that's more of a me issue because my husband thought the 4th floor was hunky-dory. Although I wonder if the rooms on the other floors are as large. We didn't use the pool nor the gym, but I noticed that the pool is surrounded by glass walls that face the atrium, so it's very visible to people walking around the hotel, so drownings are probably less likely. From a safety standpoint this is great, from a privacy standpoint, not so much. I did go into the gym to take a look. The gym is very small but had a decent amount of equipment and I could see you being able to get a good workout there. Some rooms had balconies overlooking the atrium with tables and chairs. This design reminded me of the now defunct Holiday Inn Yorkdale (in Toronto). It's a bit weird, but I somehow like it. There's also an area with a bar and lounging area in the atrium, but it was closed off. I think it's more for private functions. The breakfast area is also in the atrium. A hot breakfast buffet is included with your stay. During our visit, they had scrambled eggs, home fries and bacon. They also had toast, muffins and bagels, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, bananas, apples, and boiled eggs. The home fries were surprisingly good. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The bacon had a mix of very crispy and well done pieces, to less well done pieces. So people can take according to their preferences. I enjoyed the breakfast. It met my expectations for a hotel buffet breakfast. Staff were pleasant. And the hotel was clean. Ample free parking with in and out privileges. It is right off of a collector lane of a highway, so it's busy and may be a bit loud depending on where your room is. We didn't hear any traffic from our room. We would stay there again. Literally, the exit takes you into the parking lot of the hotel. Perks: -Free Parking -Comfortable beds -Large gym -Close to main city -Modern -Breakfast Con: I know I put breakfast as a perk, but I just wanted to add that the man working at the breakfast is taking his job way to seriously by taking the breakfast coupons from all of the guests. The woman that was working on a weekday was 10x kinder than him and wasn't abruptly coming up to people and taking their breakfast coupons.

I finally decided I need a suite and we stayed there. Firstly, the location is great. It's about a 2 minute drive to the best mall I've ever been to, Carrefour laval. It's located around a bunch of grocery stores and even a Walmart. It's right off of the freeway so it's a plus to not have to drive around extra. Check in was pretty fast. They didn't have any luggage racks but the gentleman working there went and located one for us from another floor. I found it odd that he gave us breakfast tickets. I had never seen this at another hotel but later found out non-hotel guests were using their free breakfast. We were pleased that they have an elevator (most choice hotels we've stayed at in the Montreal area do not). We had gotten a double bed suite room. It was almost the same size as my apartment. They had a mini fridge, freezer, microwave and a table with four chairs. The air conditioning worked perfectly, even in the winter. The room did look at a little outdated but it didn't bother us. The only problem I came across was the smell of the sheets. They smelled like plastic. The highlight of my stay was the breakfast the following day. The hours were good- 6:30am-9:30am on a weekday and til 10am on weekends. It was one of the most well organized and delicious hotel breakfasts I have had. They had many vegetarian friendly items: make it yourself waffles in original and strawberry flavors, Kraft peanut butter, raspberry jam, caramel, large muffins, oatmeal, 4 types of cereals, English muffins, and breads. The lady who ran the breakfast room was very pleasant and didn't give us a hard time for eating past 9:30 like some hotels do. Most importantly, the breakfast room did not stink of meats or fried food. I would not hesitate to stay at quality suites again next time I visit Montreal. The rate was $105 Canadian including tax but converted into about $77 American dollars.

The staff was very helpful. The hotel is a little dated but the rooms are very clean and have…read moreupdated TV's. I would gladly stay again.
