Her emotional intelligence and leadership style are evident throughout the hotel, and it shows in the atmosphere the moment you walk in. The property is well-managed, organized, and operates with a strong sense of teamwork and positivity. Amy's ability to positively influence the people around her creates an enjoyable experience for guests while also fostering what appears to be a supportive workplace culture for employees. It is refreshing to see leadership that genuinely cares about people and service quality. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area.

The pool looked nice though I didn't have time for a dip. The AC was powerful and the room was decorated with black out blinds that were printed with a canoe - functional and very Minnesota! Breakfast was a bit cramped in the front lobby in the morning and the elevator was a bit outdated but beyond that I had a great stay! If you are stopping here I also recommend getting off a few exits west and driving through town. They have a beautiful lake and some good restaurant options outside of the typical chains over by the hotels.

After 12 hour drive want a nice hot shower and bed. Turn on shower and dead fly comes floating by. Then toilet was never cleaned! Inside was gross! Dirt and hair in corner of floor by shower. Dirty used Kleenex, hair and dirt under counter in sink. So gross! Beds were made and there were clean towels. I didn't even sleep on sheets because I didn't know if they were actually clean. See pics. Will never stay there again! Also, never came to clean room or bring more clean towels.

I arrived on a Tuesday at 2pm and they had a room ready for me in the 1st floor. I was greeted at the front desk and told about the free breakfast. My room was clean. The bathroom was good as well as the bedroom and the bed was very comfortable. The pillows also were fluffy and the room smelled clean. The room has a big selection of tv channels and the WiFi was easy to connect to. Being on the 1st floor I thought it might be noisy but it was extremely quiet. The breakfast had a good variety of options and I would say it is just as good if not better than some Hampton inn breakfasts. I would recommend staying here, would go back.

Now that it's the Comfort Inn I can tell you that it's a pretty standard and relaxing and enjoyable place to stay which is a little pricey if you pay upon driving up here but if you find the place online you can save more than half of your money by doing it that way. It's the main option for you here in this big truck stop plaza with Petro and Skol Tavern and Iron Skillet, and all the other stuff here in Albert Lea Minnesota which is a little bit south of Minneapolis but just north of the Iowa border.

Positives: Comfy bed; bathroom(except air register) & tub were clean & shower worked great; Good sized room. Negatives: Air vents are dirty and particles were flying out of the bathroom register; rug was not clean around the edges of room; coffee machine was not cleaned - used coffee pod was inside; gross ice machine - could see via pic how dirty the entire front of machine is. To be very honest, the employees at this hotel did not seem customer focused nor motivated. Not your usual 'Choice Hotels' run business. I am a Gold member and if this were my first stay at a 'Choice Hotel', it would have been my last.

On the negative side, it's dated, the breakfast was lack luster (few healthy options), our HVAC was loud and ran all night, plus the walls were a bit thin. Our room was clean, and the pool was fun for the kids, so staying here two nights for a hockey tournament was ideal - especially for the price. It has free wifi, and a laundry facility if you need it... The staff was great, and I was really surprised to see Tesla charging stations in the parking lot. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel and you don't need a ton of amenities, this will work.

She is the only reason I am not giving this place one star. That part was impressive but the rest was not. The room was not clean: bottle cap left on the floor, stained mattress, thick dust on everything (I could write my name in the dust on every surface), hair in the sink, mirror smudged, and room smelled awful. We had to open the windows to try to get some fresh air in. Lighting was dim, hallway nearly dark. The foot of the bed was strangely higher than the head. Only amenities were shampoo and conditioner. Hotel is in need of updating. Breakfast was very skimpy, mostly just breakfast food, biscuits and gravy or waffles with only syrup. No bagels or pastries. Only fruit was two small sickly looking apples.

We stayed here last night…read more It's very clear what you are getting into here; a somewhat outdated budget offering. I have elected to rate this at five stars because it was excellent at it's targeted purpose; easy checkin, clean, functional, secure, cheap. Without any pretensions to any higher quality than mere temporary lodging, The small size of the room and lack of amenities was hardly surprising. The only complaint that I could have is that the baseboard heater seemed a bit single-minded in it's determination to heat the room, resulting in me awoken at 2:00 A.M. feeling half-broiled.

I read some of the user comments on google and on priceline, so when I walked into my room the thing I noted the fastest was that my room smelled freshly cleaned. The room itself is definitely dated. There are marks all up the walls, and even with the non-smoking designation of my room I can still tell from the smell of the curtains that the rule is not enforced. The bathroom is definitely in need of a remodel... It's yellow. Literally, mustard yellow. The bed is comfortable, though I can tell that it will need a new mattress soon as well. With all of the negatives listed, why oh why would I be giving this place a 4 star rating? My room doesn't have bedbugs, it's $44 after tax, and I have free wi-fi, HBO, and supposedly a breakfast tomorrow morning. I could have paid $75 down the street, but is it really worth the $30+ for a room that I am only going to use for sleeping?? I am very pleased with the value, as well as the service here. I will be staying here again :-)

They gave us 1 towel for 3 people, and it had a huge gaping hole in it, and didn't even appear to be cleaned (see attached photo to see for yourself what I'm talking about). We thought it was a joke, like a hidden camera show. The beds were dirty- they had been made, but the sheets were not clean. There was lots of what looked to be bright pink paint chips (maybe nail polish? No idea). There was a half used bottle of shampoo in the bathroom. And worst of all, the room absolutely REEKED of heavy smoking even though I reserved and paid for a non-smoking room. I have allergies, as well as a young child, and it was horrid having to breathe it in. When we informed the person at the front desk, she came and sprayed with a disgusting aerosol air freshener that only added more toxic chemicals to the air in a sad attempt to mask the odor. It literally impaired our health to stay here, and I do not understand how they are able to charge money for this filth. I am fairly certain it would not pass code, and I think the health inspector needs to shut this place down. We travel often and sometimes stay at more budget style places while on extended road trips such as this, and NOTHING has ever been as bad as this place. Even hostels in our college years were better than this. We knew it was a budget, no frills place, but we were expecting the basics: clean air, clean sheets, a towel for each person. This place is what nightmares (and horror movies) are made of.
