What a joke. And the manager is a sleaze bag. Checked in hearing they had updated. Room was uninhabitable. Obviously it was not ready for rental. Asked for money back because it was a scum bag hotel. Manager wasn't there and of course he's the only one who could give me a refund. Was told to come back the next day. Manager was not there the next day either. I guess he took another day off. Called the next day and had so much trouble getting through. Manager would not take my phone call. Maybe he's still on vacation. I called Motel 6 headquarters. They contacted this manager and he told them I never complained. How would he know. He wasn't at work. What an ass. No refund because of his lie. read more

I didn't get the room I paid for. I asked for a handicap room and they said people asked for downstairs rooms so they rented them all out. I had a veteran with me who had been blown up on his deployment. Handicap rooms are for the handicap. The tv had no signal and drips of something on the screen. Cold air blew in around the door. I'm glad I had towels, sheets, and blankets in my truck because this place was filty. The bathtub was dirty and the tub walls. The washcloth was used but folded with a bar of soap on it. Bed is very firm. Upstairs balcony had pizza on the walkway and a box full of trash. You could smell cigarettes from non smoking rooms. I should have read yelp reviews. I know better now. read more

Thumper's mom had some guidance on how to talk about others. So, I'm gonna say that you should only stay here if you want the kids in your family to have some stories to tell and to reset their baseline hospitality expectations. Every other hotel they've ever spent the night in has a lot more to offer. I really wish we had read the reviews *before* booking or staying here. read more

The images and amenities on the site do NOT reflect the physical appearance and condition of this motel at all! The parking lot is torn up with chunks of loose concrete and huge pot holes, all the rooms have a very pungent cigarette smoke odor (so strong it caused me to get a migraine). The cleanliness of the outside is 4/10 (there were used condoms stuck to the hand rails on the exterior stairs), inside is at most a 3/10. None of the outlets worked on one wall so I could not use my lap top at the desk or enjoy the TV/cable internet. Only one light in the main room area worked, and the beds were absolutely horrid - mattress covered in multi-colored stains with some dark red ones (possibly blood), they were also covered in crumbs/dander, hair, and insect excrement. No protective mattress cover either, so all you had was one very thin fitted sheet separating you from direct contact with all the potential bio hazards that have been collected from all the previous guests over the last 10 years. Being a single female traveler I also did not like that the entry doors only had one hinge lock, the second lock was a dead bolt but was missing components that wouldn't allow it to lock in (I feel this is a huge safety concern, especially when the rooms are street walk-up). The bathroom door also had a large hole right in the middle and shower, sink were not cleaned and had tons of mold build up. oh and don't forget the ROACHES!!! read more

I would give it a 0 if I could, this place is Hell. sheets stained with urine and blood, drawers missing from dresser, toilet has blood in it, tub is unthinkable. grounds are grose, I asked for money back and they said 3-5 days. I asked for clean sheets and they gave me sheets with same stained. DO NOT STAY the floor is peeling up. they are false advertising this place, pictures on website are nice but this will be the worst place you stay. It may as well be a drug house. I would post pictures if I could. the grounds are covered with cigarette butts. guess how much I payed??? $115.00 for one night! read more

Everything, I wasted 100 dollars on a room with a busted a/c and hair and dirt on the floor asked the front desk person if I could get another room she argued with me till she finally said she doesn't have any more rooms witch was a lie just save your money and go somewhere else the place looks like it might fall in while you sleep. read more

Worst Stay E-V-E-R! I made a reservation on motel6.com, only to find it wasn't, despite receiving a confirmation number. Got a different room, which had a bashed in door that wouldn't open. Got a different room, which obviously had been smoked in, and the A/c was in pieces on the floor. Got another room, and all I can say is Motel 6 has gone way way downward. Unable adjust A/c due to no working knobs, Greasy doors, yellowed stained stairwells, and cigarette butts and dilapidated vehicles in parking lot. This crappy room was $102, and I didn't realize I'd be jeopardizing my health and safety for a brief sleep while traveling cross-country. read more

Disgusting. Where to begin?? Tonight is my first stay at a Motel 6 and I'm absolutely horrified. Besides the non-smoking, King bed reservation I made be replaced with a double bed smoking room, upon entry it looked and smelled as if a teenager party just departed; including, an overwhelming cigarette smell, a ceiling peeling and ready to fall down, floored covered in debris, stained sheets. No WiFi as advertised. Exterior (and interior) looks like a ghetto and is filthy. The list goes on. Absolute false advertising from what's listed online on Agoda. Honestly, I can't wait to go to sleep so I can get out of here as fast as possible (I arrived late after a 14 hour road trip or I'd switch hotels immediately). I have multiple pics and videos of the disgusting shape. Attached are just a few. Honestly, I'm considering contacting the local board of health - no one should have to endure this filth much less pay for it. My husband warned me about Motel 6's, I should have listened. . I'll never, ever stay at a Motel 6 again. read more

I know, I am reviewing Motel 6 as if I'm expecting top-notch service, but I'm frugal because I have financial goals to meet, not because I can't afford a fancier place. For starters, I work an exhausting job that is 100% travel, and there's no worse feeling than having to come back after a 10 hour shift to find that your key card doesn't work. EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT, even if you're EXTREMELY careful with it... I always have to march down to the front desk to have it re-programmed, and nothing has been done about it. Even when I do finally get in, turning the lock handle needs to be wiggled a few times to ensure it locks (at least for room 407 where I was). The most disturbing factor is that none of the 3 people verifies it; they would just take my room # at face value and start reprogramming the key. What if somebody lies about the room # and uses that to stage a heist? My problems with the door are not alone; the folks staying to the right of my unit in 406 had to switch rooms because their previous door stopped working altogether and the innkeeper tried to make it sound like it's their fault, and it got so bad, one guy showered in the dark because he didn't want to rock the boat about the bathroom light being out! The people who potentially would've stayed in room 408 would turn the handle but the door won't open, and that was after being switched from a room where the A/C didn't work (so she had to switch rooms a THIRD time)! Also, there was a cockroach waiting on the inside of my door at the last night, then another one in the sink after I thought the room was bug-free for the past 3 nights! Also, seems like the ductwork is connected to smoker's bathrooms... I have to keep the door shut to avoid the stench coming into the main room, and sadly, although it does look like a bathroom fan, the fan doesn't even seem to work at all, so that I'm stuck with the stench every time I use the bathroom. The staircase entrance is not clearly marked; took me a couple of moments to find it (hint: it is behind a glass door, one room over from the north and south ends of the building. Would be a bit easier if it was on the outer edges, but I digress). There was trash and squished bugs on the floor, stains on the wall, and an exposed flex pipe at the bottom (fall hazard). One minor annoyance that is worth mentioning, but does not contribute much: The fluorescent bulbs here seem to use an old style starter, instead of the newer designs with either a ballast or even LED bulbs (instant-on), so you have to wait a few seconds for the lights to blink to life. With all the above in mind, when I checked in and tried to request a first floor unit since I had a lot of specialty work equipment worth up to $40K that I would rather not keep in my car, they said it was booked for and no vacancy because of a church event, but the building has been pretty empty the whole time... I refuse to believe that this place would actually be in demand! read more

We stopped mid-trip for a few hours sleep. The front desk attendant check me in with a broken leg and no shirt on which should have been clue #1 to go someplace else. The room smelled like they had dumped a gallon of fragrance to cover up a horrible smell that we could still smell. The floor was literally torn up down the center of the room. Many rooms were closed and unoccupied, which we assumed was for the horrible smell. Finally I was literally worried for our safety and for our vehicle after someone came out of their room at 2am to watch us enter our room...this was the back of the hotel and there were no other vehicles parked....all and all 0/5....I wish we had pulled over and slept in a walmart parking lot! read more

If I could give a minus 100 i would. It's a sh*t hole. Booked through Priceline. The room I was offered DID NOT look like the photographs on the web site nor was it as the description. It wasn't handicap accessible, it wasn't a king size bed. It was the end of a 430 mile day and I was too tired to fight with the motel staff. The metal exterior door had to be kicked open to gain access to the room. This is a fire hazard if trying to quickly leave the room. I've reported this crap hole to both Motel 6 corporate and Priceline. I tried to find the motel on Priceline, it's doesn't show. i tried to book a room through Motel 6 and it's been blocked. I hope I get a full refund from Priceline. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE EVER!!! Bed bugs, wires hanging from the lights in the ceiling, sheets stained and dirty, half the lights did not work. We walked in to check out the room, and immediately left. Went to the front to ask for a refund, was kind of a hassle, but we got the money back. The photos on line and through Expedia were at least 15years old! This motel is totally run down, completely in disrepair, and a haven for the under belly of society! If bedbugs, lice and prostitutes are your thing, this motel is still probably still below your standards. The place needs to be condemned. I would have felt safer sleeping on the sidewalk in downtown! Thankfully we found a great hotel elsewhere in St Joe! read more

Felt like a crack house. Came to the reception door and there's a sign: "out of office" and shows a phone number to call. The number is for central reservations & the person who answered sounded like she was at a party and couldn't hear me. After stating my question (how do I check in?) three times & hearing her laughing with others I finally gave up and just tried the door. Very weird guy looks up all startled at me. Demands $24 CASH as a pet deposit (this was never mentioned when I reserved). Went up stairs to the second floor and the staircase looked ready to collapse. The whole front of the building smelled of urine. There was NO PHONE in my room! The room was decrepit: peeling wallpaper, flooring & ceiling. No bathroom door!!! Cigarette burns all over the bedspread. The locks were inadequate and I felt very unsafe as a woman traveling alone. A guy two doors down obviously on something was chain smoking on the balcony and screaming into his cell phone all night long. The room was broiling hot in January and no amount of button pushing made a bit of difference. One of the lights sparked & sizzled when I tried to turn it on. Graffiti was on the wall inside my room!!! Door looked liked it been kicked in several times. Will NEVER go back here. Scariest hotel stay of my life!! Update: Two days later and I have discovered a number of bug bites and suspect spiders or bedbugs infested the bed and bedding. read more

Cobwebs on the ceiling, dirty walls and mirror, dead bugs in n the bathroom, no working light above the vanity, holes in the wall, microwave old and missing the glass plate, broken down furniture. I am going to start out by saying I don't expect a 5 star out of a motel 6 I just usually want to sleep and be on my way. The entry way to my room was dirty and the stairs were coming apart. When I got up to my room and dead bolt the door it caused the handle to break and the dead bolt would not go back in so I could not close my door from the outside, but at least the handle on the inside worked so I could close the door from the inside. I was going to call them but the phone didn't even work to call the front desk. There were light fixtures that had no bulbs, shower head was coming apart and when you would turn the power on and of on the TV the lights in the room would blink. I would have expect this if I paid 40 or 50 dollars but I paid 90 dollars. I stayed in room 424 in case motel 6 reads this review. read more

I could not even stay here. I left before even bringing my bags into the room. First, the front desk person said I might have to go to a restaurant or somewhere to wait because they may not have a room ready. This was after 8pm when my reservation said it would be available by 3pm. When she found that there was a room available, she then announced my room number and mentioned that I would be staying alone in front of 4 strangers (all men) in the check-in area. This made me feel very unsafe as a woman traveling alone. Guests were loud, drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes in lawn chairs in the parking lot right outside of my room. My room door wouldn't open with the key, but then just pushed open without even using the handle. Very unsafe. When I opened the door, I saw a filthy room with no sheets on or pillows or anything on the bed except for a shattered picture frame! Clearly this was not the room intended for me, but when I asked a cleaning person about it, she became very frustrated with the front desk person and told me I should go give her a message (interpersonal work drama). I then simply got in my car and decided to drive through the night to my destination. I have never seen a worse hotel in my life. read more

They gave away our ground floor room, the entry to the stairs is filthy, people staying there were loud, everything smelled like cigarettes (even our non smoking room) garbage everywhere, the room is reflective of what we paid for the night. Booked the motel by phone through Motel 6. We arrived and was informed that we would have to pay a 25 dollar deposit for each room. Information not on the reservation confirmation we received. Went to the rooms cockroachs in each room. The room our adult children were to be in was terrible. It had water damage to the floor and it smelled of mold and mildew. I would rate this 0 stars if I could. The only reason it gets 1 is because it is right off the highway and was easy to find. My family travels a lot so I've stayed in some gross places before. However, since had to be the worst one. We had a room with 2 queen beds and they gave us 1 towel for 5 people, when we went over to the office to ask for more they said they didn't have any because they didn't have clean laundry. Instead, we had to go to the store and buy towels to use. Both beds had stained sheets and when you laid in the bed it just felt like you were being covered in grossness. Do not recommend even if you are getting into town late and leaving early. read more

There were cigarette burn holes and stains all over the beds. The floors were gross and there were bugs. The room smelled horrible so we moved to another room that smell like Febreeze at first. After going out to dinner we came back and the room stank of smoke again. I have a mild allergy to smoke, but it was late and we only needed to get about 6hrs sleep before hitting the road again. No such luck, I wound up in the ER with my throat closed, unable to breathe. Not a great start to our vacation from what was supposed to be a non smoking room. Aside from the general dirtiness of the hotel, please also note that it is in a bad part of town and we felt very uneasy. There were lots of people hanging around outside. There is no fridge, microwave, or even a coffee maker in the rooms....not that anyone should be eating in that filth anyhow. read more

Positive: the front desk refunded our money immediately, which made a negative experience slightly more manageable. The rest: When I opened the door to our non-smoking room, I was hit with a wall of cigarette smoke smell. The same thing happened to my spouse when she came in about ten minutes later. I was in the room maybe a total of fifteen minutes and developed a bad headache from it. The bedspread was covered in many different kinds of stains of different ages, and also cigarette burns. It also was very wrinkly, which made me wonder when it had last been washed. The bed was neatly made and the sheets appeared to be clean as far as I could tell. (We left shortly after we saw the state of the room.) There were several large dead bugs on the floor of the bathroom, and more in the corner of the bedroom. The vinyl baseboard in the bathroom had fallen away from part of the wall so badly that it was sitting six inches away from it, something that could not have gone unnoticed by staff servicing the room. When my spouse picked up the phone to call the front desk about the issues, the phone was dead. I'm not an overly snobby person. I love a fancy hotel room, but I'm also perfectly happy with the most low budget, basic room as long as it's clean.
