I would recommend this Motel if you want to get ripped off. My boyfriend and I stayed at this Motel one night as there were renovations going on at our apartment and it was really disruptive. Well when you check in they charge your credit card a $200.00 security deposit in case of damages...etc..well it was a non smoking room which my boyfriend and I were aware of but we didn't see anything wrong with using our vapes. We were only taking a quick puff every hour or so and keep in mind these were 0% nicotine vapes. Things were fine until I went to take a shower, when I got out and opened the bathroom door the smoke detector went off and it automatically alerts the fire department. So fire department shows up and points out that ventilation system in bathroom is not working whatsoever, not to mention had something stuffed in it that would have blocked it even if it were working. The Fireman wasn't too happy with this, and he expressed his concern on the matter making my boyfriend and I suspect he knew more than he let on. Now this is just our theory but given how unclean the hotel room was...I'm talking toothpaste s0tiil on the side of the sink, black dirt smudges on the walls, lots on unknown hair hanging from loosely or stuck to the shower walls that the ventilation system may have been blocked intentionally by the hotel staff themselves to cover a much more serious issue such as mold of some kind. It just seems odd that someone staying at the motel would bother to block the ventilatilation system, if they would have been up to anything shady, it would have probably been smoking actual cigarettes so the ventilation being blocked would not work in their favor, also this room was separate with outside entrances to every room for the first floor so there would be no fear of neighboring guests to smell the smoke. I am calling the Fire Marshall first thing tomorrow morning so that they can inform the rude, and very arrogant, and quite pointedly misogynistic hotel manager that the smoke detector going off and causing the disturbance to the other guests was in fact the Motels fault for failing to comply with regulations and make sure the bathroom ventilation system was running and in good condition which led to the fire alarm going off due to the incredible amount of steam coming out of the bathroom from the shower running. Had they not neglected to do their job in making sure the room was up to code with an actual working ventilation system in the bathroom the alarm would have never been set off causing disturbance to the other guests...The fact that the hotel manager was arguing with me as well as to the cause of the alarm going off when the dire department clearly and precisely advised my boyfriend and I of the shower steam was what caused the issue...the motel manager apparently knows more about smoke and fire alarms than the actual firefighters apparently.
** (I'm not racist but just pointing out that the manager was East Indian and women and their opinions tend to be insignificant to this culture for some reason, and clearly this manager didn't care to hear anything I was saying) ** . Also after the whole alarm going off I called down to the front office to explain what had happened and what the fire department concluded and was told basically to stop talking, it would be discussed In the morning and for me to sleep...which I have to point out was also an East Indian gentleman. I pretty much understood I was being told to shut tf up, he didn't care and to f@#* off and go to bed. Worst Motel room conditions as in cleanliness I have ever seen, horrible treatment by the hotel staff, and getting ripped off 200 bucks always makes for a great Motel stay and keeps customers wanting to come back right??? Ummmm NOPE!!!! I for one will never stay there or any place associated with Motel again, and I have over 1500 Facebook friends, and bear same amount of friends/followers on all my other social media accounts such as Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc... that I'm pretty sure will never give Motel 6 their business because of this review, and I'm positive I'm not the first or last bad review this Motel has or will have. read more
