I don't frequent motel 6. I stayed at one for an emergency and it was a nightmare. We choose to…read morestay here last minute and our stay was for 6 days. For a 2 star hotel, I was pretty blown away by the decency! Don't get me wrong, it's VERY basic and ye there could be some sketchy business going on there but the room was modern and though it showed signs of being well lived in (like scratches on the table, wear & tear on the walls, etc), it was clean! I know this because it is covid time and I personally wiped down every surface. I was even impressed with the cleanliness level of the pillows. I always look through the bedding of lower ranking hotels for signs of previous use, dirt, hair, bugs etc. Like others said, no shampoo/conditioner. Not even a clock or paper/pen. The pool is super tiny. The parking was only extremely full on one night of our stay. We could smell smoke through the walls one day but we just got a 99 cent air freshener. There is a small strip of grass for dogs but it's also right around the corner from a nice little park. (Also, Wendy's breakfast is the best) We did not get charged anything extra. Though a few of the front desk ladies are a little on the stern side, I feel we received basic customer service. Would I ever stay at a motel 6 again? Not my first choice lol BUT this experience has given me a new respect for motel 6.

I am probably the first person to leave a review of this place without ever staying here but this…read morereview is well deserved. So I booked a room on a website that said I would not be charged until I checked in. Turns out motel 6 charged me even though I never checked in. When I called to inquire about it they gave me a reason that was unacceptable. When I asked for a manager they told me there was none available. I then asked for a number to their corporate office and after saying there was no corporate office they finally gave me a number to medical and fake name of the person I talked to. He said his name was mark but then when I called back no mark worked there. Stay tuned.

I am a very difficult human to deal with. I am going through a very hard time in my life becoming a…read moresingle parent with my 1 year old child. The man has been very generous and understanding with me. At first, I believed the younger girl to have an unnecessary attitude but when I had an issue to where all my food was frozen (due to my own ignorance) and I was going crazy because I had nothing to feed my son, the younger girl is the one who offered extra help for me to feed my baby. They have been very good people to me even though I am a basket case! I went to apologize to the man right now for my behavior. He was understanding and I felt cared for as an individual as he gave me advice that he didn't need to give but still took the extra few seconds to make me feel like I mattered as a human being.

During my experience at Rhodeway Inn & Suites at Canyon Lake, I experienced a few issues. The…read morecheck-in process was fairly easy. The guy at the front desk told me my room would be on the second floor in the middle of the hall and handed me my key. When I got upstairs, a guy kept knocking on the door, but it was a different guy than the one at the front desk, so I didn't answer it. The door didn't even have a proper lock on it, so it was a bit nerve-racking. Later, the front desk called me and told me to go back downstairs because they needed my ID again and had messed up the check-in process. I went back down, gave them my ID, and about 15 minutes later I was able to go back up to my room. They had an odd-looking soda machine, ATM, and laundry room by the door as you pass to go upstairs, but they all had "use at your own risk" signs and warnings not to use large bills. The room itself was spacious, but there were a lot of problems. The AC stopped working within the first 10 minutes of turning it on and wouldn't restart. The chairs were old and torn apart, like they had been there for 10+ years. The walls were poorly patched, and my lights would randomly turn on and off every few minutes. The phone only called the front desk and rarely worked. The sink would randomly stop running water, the TV would randomly turn on and off, and the shower sprayed water out from the top and all over the floor, making it impossible to even properly use it to rinse off. The towels were also old and deteriorating. When I contacted the office about these problems, they couldn't understand what I was saying because of a language barrier. They called their daughter, who got on the phone and tried to explain what was going on. Unfortunately, the only thing they were able to fix was the AC. I asked to switch rooms, but they said there were no other rooms available and that this was the only room open. However, there didn't seem to be many people staying there, and there were barely any cars in the parking lot. At one point, the Wi-Fi shut off in the middle of the night. I don't have service, so I got concerned and tried using the phone to call someone. It wouldn't call the front desk or even 911. They kept telling me to unplug the phone and plug it back in the morning and that it would work, but it didn't. I didn't even feel comfortable sitting on the bed, so I ended up sitting at the desk for most of the night. I just needed a place to stay with AC for a little while, but I didn't read the reviews before booking. Looking back, I definitely wish I had. It was a sketchy experience, and since I wasn't able to get a refund or switch rooms, I would advise anyone staying here to be very careful and read the reviews before booking.
