I stopped in this adorable plant & gift shop nestled in the Czech village between events on a Saturday. The shop was full of adorable gifts & a wide selection of plants, pots and other accessories. They had an impressive selection of "hard to find" plants like a raven ZZ plant & an Indian rope Hoya. Out of pure RESTRAINT I left with only a Brazilian philodendron and a card for a friend. I will be back if in the area again! As a dog mom, I also greatly appreciate their easy to see and helpful labeling of plants as dog friendly :) read more

I went to Moss for a Yelp perk and found out about this awesome plant and crystal shop. The lady working was very nice and friendly, and she answered all of my questions. I found out that Moss used to be in Newbo before moving to Czech Village. I just loved all of the various crystals and plants they had for sale. What a cool shop!! I can't wait to return!! read more

The staff is so friendly and helpful and I find myself browsing for longer than I expect to because of the unique blend of items. On my first visit to Bark & Bloom, I bought seed packets from Seed Savers out of Decorah, Iowa. I love that they sell Seed Savers here, but wish there was a larger selection from Seed Savers or heirloom seeds in general. Everything in this little shop is adorable though, from the succulents and air plants, to miniature fairy gardens, handmade wool flowers, and ceramic garden decor. But tread lightly, because those succulents and air plants are pricey! Little over $5 for a small succulent and $10 for an air plant. Uffda. But it's a great spot to pick up a gift... be it for someone else your yourself. And those handmade wool cat toys? My cat approves. read more

This is hands down my favorite venue in Newbo City Market. I absolutely love strolling around the venue and seeing what new plants they have or cute trinkets. The plants are in great shape. I've seen everything there from succulents to lavender. The decor and plant pots they sell are all adorable. Bark and Bloom is very much into upcycling old into new, and they do it beautifully. If you or a member of your family has a green thumb (or you are trying to turn your brown thumb green), I'd definitely recommend starting here. read more

What is not to love about this gem inside NewBo market? Always beautiful plants, great gift ideas and very helpful staff. Anne, the owner, is awesome and has an eye for selecting gorgeous planters and plant accessories. I love their Iowa City location as well. Not only are the employees so very helpful and knowledgeable (they have assisted me in potting plants, purchasing the right seeds for my grand, building a terrarium and they always offer expert advice) but the plants are unlike any others you will find in this area.
