Holy houseplants! My…read moreSIL and I scored big here on Saturday during Pierson's 50% off houseplant/cacti/succulent sale. I grabbed some plant varieties I'm familiar with and some I'm not. It would be extremely helpful if every plant at Pierson's had some sort of identification/care instructions on or in them; most do not. If you're a plant newbie, you should ask staff for assistance. Pricing also wasn't very clear to me - as there were signs that said 3" pots = $5.99 and 4" pots = $6.99 (not sure about exact pricing, just using those as an example). Larger house plants and plants in hanging baskets were clearly marked, but it appears that the plants arriving in flats don't get priced individually. There are pricing signs at the end of each aisle, but I just found myself continually asking, "is this 3" or 4"?" The selection is amazing, pricing more than fair and the customer service was great. Pierson's was recommend by one of my SIL's coworkers and they did not disappoint. 5/5 for selection and customer service. 3/5 for plant identification and care guidelines. Would be curious to see if the Blairsferry Rd. location has a similar houseplant department. I'll definitely revisit when they get another shipment Hindu Rope Hoyas.

The staff helps without pushing a certain product and wait patiently while I shop and decide which plant suits my needs best. The little shop sells the cutest garden decorations, too. However, their hanging plants remain my favorite flora to buy. The worst part about shopping is when I have to stop looking when I run out of time and JUST DECIDE! Oh, I almost forgot about the deliveries. I love the smiles! It's got to be one of the best jobs in the world: handing people flowers.

The tables and chairs were already prepared for us when the party showed up. I believe everybody and their dog decided to come at the same time that we arrived. It was a little chaotic, but the owner and her staff handled it very well and was able to accommodate everybody. Our birthday party had 5 10-year-old girls and myself. The girls looked through all of the different ceramics and chose what piece they wanted to glaze. We looked at the color chart, wrote down the numbers of the colors that we wanted, and the staff got everything ready for us. The glaze goes on light. The more layers that you glaze the darker it will be when it is put through the kiln. It took us about 90 minutes to finish. The pieces range $5-25. There is also a $7 fee (paint and kiln) per person. Our pieces will be left there for a week and then they will be packaged up for us. To make the experience that much more special for the birthday girl, they are able to put their handprint up on their wall along with their name and age. Choices to glaze: Bowls, mugs, plates, animals, banks, sports, holiday ornaments, lighted signs, vases, calavera, etc.

We purchased some goats milk soap and are excited to try them. Prices are a little high, but practically everything in the shop in handmade or upcycled. Great places to find gifts for the women in your life. Owner is very friendly; definitely a cute destination shop.

The staff are really welcoming and seem to be fairly knowledgable whenever I've had questions. They have everything you need for a good sesh, from glass to storage to snacks and stickers. The prices seem pretty normal to me from my experience, but I stick with more simple pieces. I don't tend to be one for novelty goods either, but the greeting cards were just too cute to pass up! If you're looking for a unique shopping experience, be sure to stop by when they have live glass blowing demonstrations or find them out at events. It's really cool to watch the artists do their thing. Don't bother with other shops in town. Just go to Hazy. They know their stuff.
