Mosob is a family-owned Eritrean restaurant. The employees are from Eritrea and are incredibly friendly. Dining there feels like you're dining with old friends. The servers are eager to talk about Eritrea and will take the time to help you decide on a dish. The food is served family-style on a large crepe and is eaten with your hands. Everything from the lamb down to the pickled veggies were delicious and full of flavor! The dish was so huge, I was able to eat leftovers for the next 2 days. The server told us, it's usually better the next day anyway, because the crepes soak up all the flavor. (It's true!) A very unique cultural dining experience worth going out of your way for. Mosob has me hooked on food from that region now. If only there were more places like this back home!

I just ate here on my last night in London and I wanted to boost the signal because it was delicious. I've had a tough time getting enough vegetables into my diet while traveling, so I got a mixed vegetarian platter with spinach, cabbage, lentils, and another bean/split pea dish and it hit the spot! The staff are very hospitable. It's clear they're used to explaining what Eritrean food is and that you eat it with your hands, so you could come here if you've never had it and they would be happy to explain. Because of Ethiopia's history with Italy they also serve Italian desserts, but I didn't try them because I was too stuffed from the injera. I didn't give it five stars only because it's not climate controlled so it was a little warm when I came in, and because there was some difficulty getting a mixed platter (they won't alter the set menu offerings, not even to halve the for a solo diner, and neither I nor the waitress realized there was a mixed platter option, so she was trying to help me order a few 1/2 portions...but all was resolved). The food is solid, the place is friendly, and it is definitely worth a stop in!

Do not just walk by this spot! We were visiting London and new to the area, and decided to opt for something other than the British pub. Sooo glad we did! We stepped in to find a quaint and thoughtfully decorated Eritrean restaurant. Our server greeted us warmly and led us to our table. We enjoyed one of the vegetarian platters for two, and it was perfect! Everything was absolutely delicious and the conversation with the family who owned the establishment really made us feel at home. Genuinely couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening. Thank you all! We will certainly be coming back!

Authentic Eritrean food. Would come back again if local. Amazingly flavorful falafel that was complimentary and loved the vegan meal. Husband enjoyed a Tusker Kenyan beer as well. There is a room with typical Western seating and one with Eritrean seating in the back.

Absolutely love all the food here. I've been back many times and taken a lot of friends over. We love the large sharing plates. Our vegetarian friends too have been quite happy with the options available and the kids LOVE their gelato. If I'm being honest. One of the sharing plates is actually good for even 3-4 people. But its probably because I'm a sucker for their spicy Qategna and the timtimo rolls, (injeera stuffed and rolled) and can't help ordering those too. For a group of 3-4 people, I'd recommend getting the mix of rolls as a starter and one of the large sharing platters, because you get to try a variety of dishes. If you have a large appetite, then budget one sharing platter per 2 people. But if you have kids or a small eater in your group, it can go much further. We have never been able to clean up an entire plate between 2 of us. The sharing plate is a combination of injeera, a dry dish, a stew, a vegetable dish and lentils, that are available in various combinations. I think we must have tried everything on the menu by now and have loved every single dish. Whether its beef, lamb or chicken, the food is just amazing. The lentils are lovely and I'm surprised at how good they make green leafy vegetables taste - without adding cheese! Can you believe it? The service is very good too. If you arrive early and it isn't too crowded, the guys at the counter will have a lovely chat with you and answer all your questions on Ethiopia and Eritrea and how Eritrean food is so different from Ethiopian in spite of sounding and looking similar (hint - the Italians had something to do with this) There's traditional style floor seating in the inner room which is great for drinks and snacks. But we prefer sitting in the outer room at tables for the main meal, so we can overeat and stuff ourselves silly. Do try the local liqueur : Cocalime made from green lime, mint and coca leaves, its a very interesting drink. I love having it as soon as I arrive, though its mostly consumed after a meal. Or try the cochalime in the Sexy Mosob - a mojito style drink with cachaca and cocalime

A friend brought nine of us here and it was my first time trying Eritrean food. The owner/staff of the restaurant were the sweetest people, instantly seeing how we were, making us laugh and teaching us a bit about Eritrea. Our friend did most of the ordering, so I'm not too sure what exactly everything was but we got yummy sharing appetizers with two sauces, then the large mains to share. It was a nice mix of vegetables and meats, though I strongly favored the meats, especially the chicken the steak. Then we finished with popcorn, coffee, brandy and dessert, all the while trying to think of all the capitals starting and ending in the same letter (the owner asked us this mind-numbing question). The starters and mains were better. Overall absolutely loved this place and the most amazing staff. Thought the price was a bit high but would definitely come back :)

It shows off its pride offering the tradional cuisine and way of eating, more to the pointbe prepared for a mess as you will have to eat those authentic food by hands! Don't panic, cutleries will be provided upon request. I'm not familiar with African cuisine but this one made the first impression well remembered. Good food, good spice. Friendly atmosphere and price. Should you want to swing by on Saturdays please make a reservation beforehand.

The reason is the waiter/owner was grumpy and when I asked for a takeaway box for the moyin moyin he actually scowled! Wow. The moyin moyin is quite flavourful but the jollof rice is a real disappointment. I've had far better in Ghana. Two years ago: I popped into here for lunch around 1:30pm today and whilst the owner could have been friendlier in greeting me (a smile doesn't hurt ya know), I appreciated him coming outside the restaurant to hand me my takeaway food where I had waited in the lovely sun for my order. The interior is quite small with only a couple of tables with lovely African sculptures all around. There is chalkboard of specials along with the regular menu. Sadly the sweet potato balls were sold out so I got the moin moin and the spinach stew. All together less than a tenner. There are four pieces of moin moin, which are just deliciously savoury. I recommend eating them with the nonspicy spinach stew with melon seed, which, whilst not delicious, was tasty and filling. It would be perfect on a cold winter night. If I was in the area, I would return just for the moin moin!

The food was absolutely amazing 10/10 but the only thing that threw me off a bit and made me a little uncomfortable was the customer service. Maybe it's just because I'm an American and the culture there is different because I have noticed it with a lot of restaurants in the UK, but the servers/workers are not too friendly whether the store is busy or not and everyone we tried speaking to, to get an understanding of how to order at the restaurant (since it was our first time here) kind of gave us attitude or acted like it was so annoying to ask simple questions?? Our food ended up taking more time to get ready because we didn't understand the whole call, bill, and cancel method of ordering which we tried to ask but didn't get an answer straight away. The person who finally addressed it was kinda rude about it.. Anyways, the decor inside the restaurant was really nice and it truly does give an upscale sort of vibe which is cool, but I feel like in the near future I'd prefer to just order for carry out rather than sitting inside the specific location we went to just because the food is so good but the customer service just was not it. However I've heard that different locations sometimes have better customer service so.. ‍
