I had a great toe fusion January 2024. Dr Mosier Laclair was not thorough in her explanation of my surgery. I was not informed about the long recovery time or parts of the surgery that were performed. I was given a nerve block with no prior knowledge of what they were doing. She did NOT manage my pain after surgery. I was told to call my family Doctor. Really? She said another medication I take was interfering with the pain medication. She treated me like a drug addict who was trying to scam pain medication and kept yelling that she could lose her job. She had a list of my medications but never mentioned that before surgery. I have had other surgeries and my pain was always managed by the Doctor who preformed the surgery with no interference from my other medications. Dr. Mosier does not seem to care at all about the problems I had during the recovery or now. I just recently had 2 screws removed from the surgery site that were causing pain. This is also common but I was not informed of the possibility of another surgery to remove screws. I'm still in pain and now she says it may be due to my high arch. Seems to me she should have considered and discussed that prior to surgery. She made sure to point out that she did the surgery correctly and it turned out just great. X-rays confirm and it has healed properly as far as she's concerned. In the ortho Michigan office I felt like a number not a name. I never once felt cared for by staff or the doctor I chose, more of an inconvienience. I do not recommend Dr Susan Mosier LaClare. read more

I had Achilles' tendon surgery performed by Dr. Mosier-Laclair. This was a technically difficult procedure with a long recovery. This doctor was very clear with her description and met with me a second time to answer questions/concerns I had about this. The second time, I did have to wait a bit, but I expect that since she is one of the few foot/ankle specialists in the area. The hospital staff clearly have great respect for her, which is important to someone like myself that has had a career in the medical field. The surgery went fine. It'll be three months since surgery in a week, and I am further ahead than I anticipated and already better than prior to surgery. I would definitely recommend this physician for any foot/ankle issues. read more

My son and I waited 1 1/2 hours to see Dr. Susan Mosier-LaClair at OrthoMichigan in Flint. My son was there because he has 2 torn tendons in his foot. When she walked in with her assistant she began to examined my sons foot speaking very fast. So fast that I had asked her to repeat things ; like the name of the surgery. The Dr. said" my family doctor will have all the notes. I was very upset by then because I felt very belittled. Dr. Mosier then sent in her scheduler Tammy in. She gave me a clip board and said to read it then sign it before we can schedule his surgery. The paper stated that if ANY reason I have to cancel the surgery I will have to pay them $100. I question it and basically was told they would not schedule. She gave me a date that was a week and a half away. We had a prior commitment so I asked can we go one more week. Tammy the scheduler flipped a couple pages in her book than closed it. She told me there was nothing up to 4 weeks out. I literally was with the doctor 15 minutes for all of this. I felt very bullied. NO surgeon should make you fell this uncomfortable. NO surgeon should ever charge you money for canceling . That's extortion. I took my son for a 2 opinion to Dr. Michelle Caird at U of M Orthopedics. She said a torn tendon is a sprained ankle. She told me he definitely did NOT need surgery and didn't understand why the other doctor said he did. Dr. Caird set us up with physical therapy. read more
