Falafel stand

Great food, kosher veggie, always fresh, super fast, delicious, very consistent, great fries and perfect falafel.

My go to cart when I'm in the neighborhood for hot crunchy hint of cumin laced deliciously fried to perfection chickpea balls!! Come on people, 6 piping hot balls for less than $4 that are accompanied by some amazing briney Israeli pickles, a generous container of tahini sauce and a super spicy and incredibly mouth watering pepper hot sauce to dip in, it's a meal fit for any vegetarian kosher royalty! They also offer hot soup and the falafels are also served the traditional in a pocket pita with whatever fixings you desire as well. The staff is super friendly and accommodating when you ask for extra sauce and the cart is there rain or shine closer to 6th on 46th (minus shabbos/shabbat or however you know it as) Truly a gem in the food cart foodie category!

Whole wheat whole sized falafel sandwich (fries come on the sandwich...i just picked em off for some good tachina dipping). Noms.

Nice little food truck that appears to have home base at 46th and 6th. The truck offers the standard array of falafel dishes (pita or platter or straight-up ballin). Today I opted for a whole falafel sandwich with whole wheat pita (that option is always a big plus factor to me). The falafel ball itself is pretty decent, not oily, but I think I wanted a bit more of a crunch. The sandwich comes topped with several thick cut fries and some mini-dill pickles. The fries are actually pretty damn good. The sandwiches come with tachina (tahini in non tribespeak) and hot sauce - the tachina is pretty decent as well. Might not be on par with Mamoun's, TAÏM, or Cafe Azuri, but it's quick, fresh, whole wheated, and pretty good.

I reallyyyy wanted to love this place. ever since returning from Israel last year, I've been craving good falafel. Moshe's is a few blocks from the office and had good reviews so I figured I'd walk over and give it a try. unfortunately, the walk was the best part. the food truck staff were friendly enough, but the falafel itself was disappointing. I ordered the falafel pita (layered with falafel, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, french fries, more falafel, and a pickle). the pita was dry and bland, the veggies were fresh but the lettuce was still wet. the fries were greasy and unseasoned. worst of all, the falafel was incredibly bland. the texture was decent but there was no flavor, just mush. the tahina was another layer of bland. even the hot sauce was barely flavorful. overall, a giant portion of bland-on-bland, which landed itself in the trash after a few bites. womp womppp.

Moshe's is located on the southeast corner of 46th and 6th (aka Avenue of the Americas). It's a food cart located on a street with tons of other food carts. Best to get here earlier to avoid crowds and wait times. I ordered the whole sandwich which comes with fries. Not sure if the half comes with fries... not sure what the half even is. If you're looking for a sandwich that isn't your typical cold cuts between two slices of bread, this is it. Moshe's falafel sandwich is filling and quite satisfying at the same time. I've definitely had better falafel sandwiches (i.e. Mamoun's Falafel, Taim), but in Midtown, this truck is pretty much the place to go for your falafel fix. The falafel isn't as flavorful as somewhere else and it is a little less crispy on the outside, but they are huge and along with the tahini and hot sauce (it's not that spicy), it's pretty tasty. There's a pickle and the usual tomato and lettuce in the sandwich as well. The great addition here is the fries. They're actually delicious, to my surprise. After a 7 block walk, I thought these things would be soggy but they actually stayed crispy and were delicious with the tahini and hot sauce. Falafel sandwiches are something I don't eat often because for me, they are delicious when I eat them, but afterwards I feel kind of gross for some reason. However, to each their own, and if you're in Midtown and love your falafel sandwiches everyday or once every couple months like me, Moshe's is a solid pick.

Ugh Had their 6 falal combo. Disappointed but the owner is pretty nice. I wish I could lie and give a 4 stars. But I cannot I am a good person with a pure heart pursuing for food And the taste of the food here is - ugh, come on! Along with the cheap price I may be less unhappy Still I am disappointed.

I normally don't like falafel, but Moshe's is the only one I actually enjoy! It's a sidewalk stand, but since it's kosher, you are assured that it is supervised to high ingredient standards (unlike those other disgusting stands where they have who knows what grilling). They make it right in front of you, with falafel, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and techina in a pita. I got spicy sauce my first time there (since I like spicy food) and it was much hotter than expected, but my return visits have seen the edge come off. Great value deal - the falafel in a pita for only $4.50! Perfect stop for the busy kosher midtown lunch crowd.

I am not hating on this falafel. Never greasy, still moist yet crunchy, cheap, lightly coated in tahini (if you want it to be) and easy to walk and eat - it's a thing I like to do in the city. It's hard and I do mean HARD to find good falafel in Manhattan, whether it be a restaurant or a stand. HARD! But Moshe's definitely hooks it up for the $4, a little plate of satisfying falafel balls.

I first went to Hummus Kitchen at their UES location, but this one is equally wonderful. The space is on the smaller side (a bit narrow) and they have indoor seating for around 20-25 people. I recommend making a reservation in advance. The servers are friendly, attentive and the food comes out fairly quickly. As the name implies, the hummus here is excellent as is the thick pita it comes with (they have regular and whole wheat). If you haven't been before, get "the hummus kitchen" as it has 4 different types of hummus you can try. The mazze are also tasty, my favorite would have to be the grape leaves, but the falafel, cauliflower and babaghanoush are also extremely delicious (you can order any 3 for $28 and it comes with pita). For entrees, I highly highly recommend the chicken shawarma tacos (2 per serving) followed by the open arais tacos (also 2 per serving) and the Mediterranean red chicken (in that order). If you don't go with the shawarma tacos or want less bread, then the shawarma platter is also a good choice. The chicken shawarma tacos here are simply incredible, they serve them in their warm fluffy pita, sliced in half, open and fill the inside with chicken, onions and whatever else makes is so ridiculously addictive. This thing is bursting with flavor, it has to be the best chicken shawarma I have had in NYC. The tacos also come with a small side of hummus and babaghanoush along with pickles and some tomato salad. The portions are what you would expect as are the prices. Really a delicious spot if you are in the area or want a great/quick meal before or after a show.

While we're making fewer trips into the city these days, our return for a pre-theater lunch proved that Hummus Kitchen hasn't missed a beat -- in fact, we both agreed that they've stepped up the entire experience. The Kosher Israeli food is fresher and tastier than ever. The Green Shakshuka off the Brunch menu was a standout, featuring a rich, spiced tomato sauce topped with fresh baby spinach and two perfectly poached eggs. A major highlight to me was the swap from the traditional pita bread to a mini challah bread for dipping. The bread's sweetness perfectly complemented the savory stew. We finished with Turkish coffees and the Kitchen Kadaif, which was absolutely incredible. It's hard to believe it's dairy-free with a combination of shredded phyllo, rich halva, and shredded coconut that's the perfect balance of texture and sweetness. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing, ensuring we were out with plenty of time for our show at Studio 54. If you're looking for an authentic Mediterranean hidden gem in Midtown, this remains a must-visit.

I've gotten adels every single time I've gone to NY…read more Yes line is long but this is the best halal cart. Workers are super nice too and friendly. I get the chicken and gyro mix with spicy rice. Rice is not spicy don't worry. Also their chicken is like marinated unlike some other halal carts. I get all sauces except bbq. The gf does all the sauces except red sauce cause that one IS spicy One time they accidentally put fries on my plate but now it's a non negotiable for me. Ask for it on the side if you don't want it to get soggy. If I'm feeling extra big back I throw some falafel on that shi too. If you wanna skip the line, just order on Grubhub. It's more expensive yes but worth it if you're not tryna wait an hour

The line literally tells you everything... waiting an hour at like 1 AM for halal food sounds insane until you try it. The meat was SO good bro I still can't stop thinking about it. Biggest hack: get the white sauce on the side and add extra meat. They absolutely drown it in sauce if you don't, and the sauce gets kinda heavy after awhile. On the side is perfect. I genuinely need to go back already lol
