Recently stayed for 5 nights while visiting friends in Sheffield. Our room was downstairs and I would ask for a ground floor or upstairs room next time. Didn't see elevators, so if walking is a concern, ask about that! It was a schlep for lugging the cases for me. Front desk staff and all staff in general was lovely and very accommodating. There is very little storage if you are staying more than a few days and like to unpack to settle in as I do; however, we asked for a chest of drawers maybe? And, they did bring a small three drawer piece in, which I used to the full. Am I the only one who likes to unpack? I thought that was a little odd, but made do. Excellent shower and hot water. Very comfortable beds, pillows, linens. We ate breakfasts and several dinners in the dining room, which was fine. I have a limited menu and I did fine but I can't judge the whole menu as I stayed in my lane. But...someone should change their music -- they play the same songs over and over and over! I don't know how the staff can take it! But, it was a great base for our adventures, reasonably priced, and the historic story of the place is cool and I loved the stone exterior. read more
