The staff were very friendly and helpful when we arrived, and the check in was easy and prompt. The room was really big, great bed, good sized bathroom and great view of the spacious car park. There is a really large spa as well which offers fantastic treatments for great prices. The dining area was really large and breakfast was a massive buffet which was more than ample considering it was included in the room price.

The lounge has two plasma screens for watching the footie but there is also another room upstairs which has two big screens and another small bar. This room can get very busy for the big matches, but this helps to create a great atmosphere. There is a nice beer garden to the rear of the pub, also with a plasma screen, which is great for watching sport in the summer and there is a heated smoking area The range of drinks are pretty standard, prices are reasonable and there is a friendly atmosphere. It's a must for sport fans, but also a decent pub to go to just for a drink and a chat.

I was very pleased with the price of the festive menu too as many of the local pubs seem to be charging a ridiculous amount of money this year. £19.99 for 3 courses here where in Stoney it's £29. The atmosphere was very festive too with many tables where you could either see or sit near a roaring fire. A lovely historical pub with lots of beams just made our meal perfect. I chatted to the new manager who was just lovely and commented on how friendly and welcoming his staff were. I'll definitely be back here very soon. Five stars well deserved.
