They made me feel so validated, comfortable, and supported; which is so important for new moms to be or any mother expecting. They also offer preparation programs that are free to help parents feel confident when it's time for their bundle of joy to come. A special thank you to Rosa and Kim for blessing me with their graciousness. That will forever be in my heart

Long story short - I don't really have support, and other than my son's father - no local support at all. We weren't expecting pregnancy at this time but a surprise slip up (God had a plan) it happened. I somehow stumbled across this resource (like I said... plan) when I hadn't told anyone. Not only did they suggest starting a prenatal (I had no clue where to start), but every step of the way... classes, trainings, ultrasounds, etc. An overwhelming amount of support. I have been with them since a few weeks in... I am 28 weeks now. I don't know what I would have done without this support and resource. Just a blessing, truly. Learning so much in a time when media/Google offers so much "advice" it is great to learn from reputable folks on prenatal and postnatal care. They offer support for mom, baby, and dad. Non-judgmental. Super supportive and caring. I don't know what else to say without going into depth, but I wanted to ensure that they get their deserved recognition and that I pass this onto anyone else in need. Truly amazing staff, and whatever your faith or if you are not even talking to Him right now... you walk in and you literally feel His Love generate.

Bilingual staff members and volunteers help support women in their native language (English, Spanish, and Amharic). The center provides families with diapers and other essential baby items such as clothing (baby and maternity), blankets, formula, and baby food. Additionally, they offer safe sleep training through the DC Department of Health and provide Pack 'n Play portable cribs. Not only does the center provide material items for families, but also emotional support. The staff at The Northwest Center are very knowledgeable professionals and are well versed in social services to refer clients to in the greater DC area (such as WIC/SNAP, medical care, breastfeeding support, and job assistance). The Northwest Center is not a faith based organization, and all are welcome at this fantastic DC-based non-profit supporting women in the DMV. I highly recommend the Northwest Center.
