I can't speak for the entire practice but I absolutely LOVE Maanavi!…read more After having a meh experience with Capital Women's Group I looked around for a compassionate practice that was easy to book with and had convenient hours and location. I asked around with friends and nearly every single person that I knew and loved went to Capital Women's Group. I absolutely LOVED Dr. Andersen and Dr. Manaavi the moment I met with them, but did not have an issue with rotating through the other doctors during my monthly visits during my pregnancy. With my first birth I read over a dozen childbirth books, hired a doula ... did the whole she-bang and still ended up with a less than ideal birth and practitioners who were not entirely on the same page as me no matter how much we communicated. At Nova Group for Women, I felt listened to and understood. Dr. Maanavi was an absolute champion for a VBAC and even recommended an outside chiro to help manage my pain and make adjustments to make birth easier. Her recommendation was a GAME CHANGER and made my delivery super easy even without a doula. My follow ups have been easy to schedule and I'm usually in and out with no problem. I found communication easy with the portal and I love how calm the doctors are, definitely something I did not experience in my other practice. I highly recommend.

I had seen Dr. Allen in Fairfax a few times and had called to schedule an appointment. I was…read moreinformed that she had retired only by calling. There was no communication whatsoever about her retiring. I made an appointment and had one appointment with Dr. Ryan for 2 specific reasons, to get blood work for HRT treatment and to discuss removing my uterine cysts. Please note that I stated my reasons when making an appointment by PHONE. As soon as I arrived for my appointment, I was told I'd have to schedule a SEPARATE appointment for a surgical consult. Dr.Ryan explained that I'd have to get bloodwork before prescribing HRT. I received notification that my labwork results were in 1 day later. A few days later, I received a notice in the patient portal that my lab results were in and that the results were normal and that I'd see them at my next visit. NO mention of the fact that I needed a prescription for my HRT. I then sent several messages to Dr. Ryan that same week via the patient portal. NO response and she never called in my prescription. And then the office closed the next week, the week of Labor Day. After constantly calling that week, I was finally able to get a prescription filled by a random person- no idea who filled it. Dr. Ryan NEVER responded to my messages in the portal. There is NO direct phone number to this practice. It is entirely managed by a very poorly managed call center. Hint, don't choose the selection to hold your place in line with a call back. It doesn't WORK. They don't call you back. I will never return to this practice and would not recommend this practice to anyone, especially if you need a direct line to your doctor or even a nurse. After everything I had been through, that level of compassion and attention meant more than I can express. Stephanie, who handled my blood draws, was absolutely amazing-specially since I hate bloodwork. Somehow, she made the process painless every single time, which I didn't think was possible. Her calm, gentle approach instantly put me at ease. She also performed my ultrasounds and always took the time to explain exactly what we were seeing on the screen. That extra effort made such a difference, helping me feel informed, reassured, and involved throughout the process. I am incredibly thankful for my navigator, Holli. She was always so responsive, kind, and patient with the million questions I would text her . No matter how many times I reached out, she never made me feel like a burden. Having someone to count on during such an emotional journey was imperative for my peace of mind. Taylor, the nurse assigned to me, was also wonderful. She was great during ultrasounds, always gentle and professional, she consistently took the time to answer questions I had. She did the ultrasound when I heard the baby's heartbeat and she was so thorough with everything we were seeing on the screen. Her warmth and knowledge made me feel really comfortable. Choosing Pinnacle Fertility was the best decision I've ever made. My experience at Shady Grove was completely different- I felt like just another patient. Dr Shu wasted nearly two years of my time, money, and emotional energy, and the entire process felt like an exhausting cycles with no results or clear direction. It was incredibly discouraging and nearly gave up. From the moment I met with Dr DiMattina, I knew things would finally move in the direction of my dreams. He listened, explained, and he took decisive action after bloodwork was conducted. He truly did everything possible to help make this happen- and he delivered!!! His knowledge of fertility is astounding, and I would recommend him to anyone who needs help getting pregnant. All I can say is AMAZING STAFF, AMAZING HELP, VERY COMFORTING AND KNOWLEDGEABLE…read more Every nurse was amazing THE PLACE IS NOT DIRTY AT ALL. The office was nicely done up and made me feel comfortable. ESPECIALLY WHEN MY VISIT AT THE American Women's Services - Fairfax Address: 8316 Arlington Blvd #222, Fairfax, VA 22031 WAS HORRIBLE AND FRAUD (DO NOT GO THERE) Here at the falls church healthcare center I had one appt at 815 and was out by 9am Second appt at 3pm was seen quickly and efficiently and given all the proper information and out by 510pm. Everything was done properly and a follow up was set and plenty of information for me to take back and numbers to contact in the even of a question. The doctor was amazing and made me feel comfortable and relaxed as well as the licensed Anesthesiologist. Overall nothing bad to say about this location.

GO HERE TO BE MEDICALLY GASLIT!…read more I feel it is my duty to all women to do whats in my power to warn you about this facility. The staff and especially the doctor. I had an abortion in January and felt pretty comfortable with the environment (aside from the janky elevator) up until the actual pre surgery examination. A few of these staff members really shouldn't be in this field. The quality of care I received was horrendous. The actual procedure happened and went smoothly, until I woke up in a massive amount of pain. I've have also had an abortion previously, and I knew that this level of pain was much worse than I had experienced. I actually threw up it was so bad. I expressed this to the staff and the doctor. The staff gave me pain medication which definitely helped, and when they took me back so the doctor could look, he was very condescending and told me that I was sensitive and that everything was normal. He made me feel like I was crazy. I was bleeding more than normal, and I told staff and they told me it was fine. Im still bleeding today. At my follow up appointment (which had been rescheduled twice) I got there and they were completely short staffed. I have previously worked in a medical office so I was okay with waiting 30 or 45 minutes past my appointment time. I was not okay with the receptionist telling me as I entered the door that they tried to call me to reschedule, and walked away before I could speak. I was also not okay with waiting an hour and 15 minutes past my appointment time in order to be seen for a follow up ultrasound that should have taken 5 minutes. I brought up my concern to the woman at the desk and instead of apologizing or telling me what was going on that required such a long wait, she said they were setting up my room and gave me a forced and fake smile and rolled her eyes. I noticed other patients who arrived after me were being seen. I was frustrated and felt unheard. When I was finally called back, I expressed this to the receptionist who handled it horribly, with a verbal altercation. I have never in my life felt so disrespected by someone, especially someone working in such a sensitive field, a field that requires compassion. I was put into my room where I heard her and the doctor as well as other staff CACKLING about the argument and myself. I wanted to cry. When the doctor came in (her supposed boss) he ignored what I had brought up to him about the receptionist and the service I was being given. Instead he stuck by her side and didn't apologize for anything. For the ultrasound, no warning, just shoved the device inside of me. He rotated the screen toward me to show me a massive fibroid that was in the same spot as my previous pregnancy. This explained the pain and the bleeding. Why hadn't he noticed it before??? Why after the ultrasound, did he not explain what uterine fibroids were? Why did he not explain treatment? Why was I not receiving care??! So in conclusion, DONT GO HERE if you want to be treated like a human being. GO HERE IF you want to be bullied, minimized, unheard, disrespected, and ESPECIALLY go here if you want the kind of treatment I had with a heaping side of medical gaslighting. This Dr. should not have his license, let alone be practicing in a facility that is geared towards young women who are in vulnerable situations. I worry about the safety of other women. There are other clinics, please choose a different

I also love the online booking system and wish more practices would offer this. I used this practice for about three years. My first visit was with a provider I don't remember, but who was perfectly fine. Next year, I booked with Dr. Andre, and had a less-than-stellar experience. She was over 30 minutes late to my appointment, after the nurse had already taken my information and set me up in the room. She scolded me for venturing out of the room to look for someone and then when she finally saw me was pretty condescending and dismissive of some concerns I had. I gathered she had to attend to an emergency right before my appointment, so as a human I can appreciate that may have been an exceptionally difficult day for her, but as a patient that doesn't make what I experience ok. I wish that would have been handled differently, even if I were just offered the chance to reschedule. Next year, I determined to schedule with someone else and was seen by Erica Lybarger. I really liked her bedside manner and found her friendly and engaging. I really appreciate her gentle approach and how dedicated she is towards helping patients manage any pain. This year I saw her again and still enjoyed meeting with her. However, after our review of some birth control methods, I went home and researched the options we discussed and found out she had misconstrued some of the side effects, avoided mentioning some risks, and left out one significant valid option. Reading both legitimate medical pages on these options as well as other patients' experiences with side effects made me uncertain I could trust the information she provides and I decided to seek a different provider based on my GP's recommendation. Ultimately, I think a patient could still have a good experience with this practice and even with both the providers I am reviewing. I just decided based on the care I received that i want to receive more reliable support elsewhere instead of trying a new provider within the practice.
