The first time the woman there said I didn't have the right documents -- I did -- & then put in all my information, which took a while, & it turned out they only take cash. I returned several weeks later with cash in hand. She had to enter my information 3 times & kept hitting obstacles. She was very confused about the facts despite my multiple explanations. Among the problems she encountered was her insistence that my old car had been sold. Not the case. It was taken by the dealer as part of my new car payment. After multiple efforts, she finally said she could give me a replacement city sticker but no senior discount. This was a good 40 minutes into the encounter. By now I had no confidence in her abilities so I left. Called the Secretary of State today & was told that their records show my old car was never sold. Aside from her incompetence, her intense perfume is now all over my legal documents & I am allergic to scent. I would say to avoid this currency exchange at all costs. There are others that get great reviews & are close by.

This location is situated in the mall area of the Shops of North Bridge. There is parking in the 516 N Rush parking facility. Access to the currency exchange is just outside of Nordstrom, across from the Jellycat plushy store. You can access Nordstrom from the parking facility. You have to take the escalator to the top, then go through the store to the mall. The currency exchange itself is a small enclosed area. The young woman, Tricha, who took care of me and The Queen was super nice and very careful when it came to counting out our money. She was great. She explained the exchange rate and carefully told us how much we had requested in pesos and counted it out in a slow manner so we could see each bill being counted out. She also explained the process for us to return any money not spent in Mexico to get back dollars. The exchange rates and service were very good and this will be my go to for exchanging dollars to foreign currency.

I dig the stub out of the trash to bring it today, and they say they need to call my job to verify. They call my job, but STILL can't verify because the payroll person isn't in ON A SUNDAY. With the restrictions of covid, they have hand sanitizers everywhere and they enforce social distancing. There is a cute swing inside. It appears to be a furniture speaks that speaks to the culture of the works who looks to be of middle eastern decent, If I am not mistaken. I never sit on it because I'm afraid it'll break but it looks nice. There is also an ATM inside to withdraw funds.

So, I realize the time is now when I receive an email less than two days before the end of September.. Seriously, WTH! Snail mail is faster!? Who the heck is in charge of these damn emails! I would wager that other Chicagoans also got their reminder emails late. So, I waited till the middle of the night and hit this location. It is so dirty in here. Brightly lit which is great to keep the wacky folks away. The lights are so bright you can see all the grime on the walls, the floors, the aerial splatters of grime. It's all there. Evidence of a dirty room but I digress.. It's a currency exchange and what seems to be a source of quick cash for the common citizen. Don't have a bank account? No worries, they'll cash it for you and take a nice cut in the process. Currency exchanges can also process a number of other services for people lacking the ability to stay on track/time with their payments. All for a fee of course. It is what it is. There are many services available and for a full list, it's wise to call. But, they don't often answer quickly. I was there for a city sticker and that's what I got. I didn't experience any of the crazy stuff mentioned in other reviews, though that did alarm me and was extra cautious. Luckily there was one ahead of me that took quite a while cashing a check. But when it was my turn the cashier was courteous and I walked out of there, sticker in-hand. If buying a state or city sticker, cash is king and will save you on additional fees. FYI. No free parking lot. You are limited to metered parking on all sides.
