I've been sleeping on this spot for way too long. Plant selection and prices cannot be beat. No more Loews or Shop Rite - the Agway is definitely where I'll be going from now on. Right now they are so well stocked for fall - mums of all different shapes, sizes and colors. Tons of pumpkins of course. Part of my anger management "agreement" was that I would take on a less stressful hobby like Gargling. Admittedly I must have misunderstood My "councilor" who actually wanted Me to take up Gardening. Unfortunately I'm alot much better at the former than I am at the latter which brings us to the Agway of Morristown. Which just happens to be the absolute best place around to find everything You need for any fool proof Gardening scenario. I am always pleasantly surprised by the prices and variety of items that they have on shelf at this Agway. Over the past couple of years I have brought home a few indoor plants from here and they are some of my best plants. The plants have remained very healthy and continue to grow which is why I find myself most frequently coming here for a new planter and their selection never disappoints. It seems that every time I need a new plastic planter I am also leaving with a new pretty ceramic one too that I couldn't resist. The staff is also always knowledgeable regarding house plant care when I call with any questions. For anyone looking for fair prices and personal care I would recommend this Agway. read more

I went into the store to buy flowers and had asked If I could speak to someone about my knock out roses I was having a problem with. The young girl at the register paged someone and told me there was 1 (one) "plant person" there and "we don't know where she is" This is a nursery/garden center, shouldn't everyone working here be a "plant person"? I'm not holding anything against this kid as I'm guessing this is either her first job or she is just out of high school and anyone with experience with teenagers knows how painful it can be to talk to them. Anyway, an older gentleman comes in and I get a lift thinking this is the person and again the kid at the register mentioned a customer with a question about roses as I'm standing right there. He asked where is so and so?? She's probably in the back. Now , I'm standing RIGHT THERE!! Wouldn't it be nice if you, I don't know sir, go into alleged back to look for the only plant person in the entire joint because there is a customer waiting ? Mind you, this was a Monday mid day and there were about 3 other customers there so the place was practically empty. I just left and went somewhere else. I miss the days of people actually knowing their jobs and being helpful. read more

This place is hit or miss with service. I've come here a few times and had excellent service where someone would walk me around and help me pick out the right plants for my needs. I've also come here looking to purchase something and asked attendants for help or direction just to have them brush me off and walk away abruptly with little to no word or they pretend to not see or hear you. I don't know what is going on with their service, but they really do have a great selection of healthy plants. Some things can be very expensive and can easily be found in other nurseries or big box stores for less, but this place have large healthy varieties and selections to choose from. The service and prices for certain things makes me want to skip this place altogether, so I only recommend coming here if you are looking for healthy large plants/trees or something specific or unique because they will likely have a bunch of it in different sizes that are in better condition than you will find anywhere else. read more

I did not recommend shopping at this nursery. Inventory is pretty good, prices decent; however, customer service is seriously lacking. I purchased two shrubs, and after careful watering and even fertilizing, the plants still died on me. When I spoke to the manager, he instantly got aggressive and accused me not watering the plants, which I do not appreciate. After spending hundreds of dollars this season at this Agway location, I do not appreciate the dismissive customer service. I understand if you cannot provide a cash refund, but good business is good business. A store credit or diagnostic would go a long way as a sign of goodwill. My husband and I will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

This really large & well stocked nursery in Morristown has just about everything you would need (except no cut flowers I was told). From mulch, to soil to flowers of every kind, water features, trees/shrubs, outdoor chairs & swings - you can get it all. The place was busy all 3 times I have been here, so a bit hard to get anyone to notice you or help you, but if you're not afraid of a bit of DIY shopping, head over here. I hit this Agway every single weekend, it's the closest place to feed my addiction for mulch, fertilizer, seed and plants. This location has a huge selection of annuals, perennials and decorative shrubs and trees. No shade trees tho. They sell plants supposedly deer resistant but the deer here in N NJ are hungry so consider your options carefully! Also fills propane tanks. Hidden inside is a big selection of the fancy cat and dog food like Hill's Science. The high schoolers who work here are friendly but typically clueless so if you need expert advice ask for Chuck, I haven't stumped him yet. Prices on bulk stuff drop as you buy more so don't stop at just one bag of mulch. Otherwise it's not cheap here, but I've also found garden supply places that are yet more expensive so your mileage may vary. In short this is the best stocked garden store in the Morristown area and they can answer questions too. read more

Stopped in on a plant-buying kick after visiting the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, which is about a mile away. A large selection of everything gardening. Flowers, plants, soil, gardening tools and pots amongst others. I saw that there was a merchandise pickup area, so I am not sure if you can order via phone or online prior to picking up. Workers were very helpful and nice, assisting customers with loading their purchases into cars which I thought was great. Prices seemed fair as well. read more

So Agway wants us to shop small and local now that Lowe's is down the street. OK, Agway, how about we start with better customer service? How about staff that greet you and ask you if they can be of help? How about the teenage cashiers looking up from their phones to ring up your purchases? How about eliminating the clutter from the check-out counters so you can put your purchases down? I don't need three people in the office chatting. I need sales help visible on the floor. Why is there only one outdoor cashier when the lines for outdoor purchases are 5 customers long? Why did you change your Sunday opening time from 8:30 AM to 9AM? In that 1/2 hour, I can be to Lowe's and then home. For this 2019 season, the garden dept. at Lowe's didn't appear to be fully-stocked, the staff finding its way. But look out next spring, Agway. If you want me to choose Agway, then make the choice easier. read more

I want to love this place and support a local business but the customer service is just so bad. For years it's been hit or miss with service but the lack of employees wearing a proper face covering indoors (especially) and out, is the last straw. I joke that I have an addiction to this place. Every plant I have ever bought here has been wonderful. I have flowers that I bought in the spring that are still powering through and its November! I have a black eyed susan that I planted in the summer and still looks as nice as I bought it.....even with a few hard frosts! You cannot beat their prices and the quality is 100x's better than what you would get at a big store like Lowes. The service is always fast, friendly and conscientious. I love how they have little pre-made bags waiting so your plant purchases fit nicely and don't spill all over your car. Its a good day when you can walk out with a bag full of plants and only spend $9! read more

More than once I've been met with a blank stare (especially the women at the front desk whose every other word was "I don't know" or "you have to ask someone outside in nursery")or no one to assist at all. I am a believer of shopping local and supporting independent shops but certainly not under these conditions. Tried giving them chance after chance but the service doesn't seem to change. The voicemail at the store said they were open till 6pm on Christmas Eve, drove 25 minutes to store and I had called multiple times on my way to check on this. I arrived at 5:15 and was told the store closed at 5pm. I am fine with stores closing early on Holidays or not even being open, but it's not hard to change your voicemail to reflect the appropriate time. This is just lazy and inconsiderate. read more

I have been shopping at Agway for years and have always found what I need and the customer service is excellent. Two weeks ago I asked the owner if he had a particular plant in stock that I had bought there last year. He told me that they didn't have it at that time. The selection of plants and other materials is very good, but the service here is definitely in major need of improvement. The person selling pants talks so rapidly, I can barely understand her and she looks annoyed when I ask her to repeat herself. More importantly, I bought a number of bags of soil, drove to the back to have it put in my car, only to get home and see that not every bag I'd paid for had been put in the trunk. After a 15 minute drive home and realizing the error, I immediately called them back to say I'd be right back to get the missing bag. I got put on hold, then was hesitatingly told to, 'sure, come back and get it'. No apology, no nothing. The young man who'd made the error and seemed to hate his job to begin with, threw the bag in my car, no words at all for me, after I've been inconvenienced with a round-trip back and forth from the Township. Sorry, but now with the Lowes coming to town, I guess that will be my new garden center. read more

Since moving to town a few years ago, I have bought my Christmas tree here each year. The attendants are super helpful and timely with their service and have a great selection to choose from. This year, our Christmas tree ended up dying and drying up a few days before Christmas. Nothing that they did wrong, this was simply a fluke!! The owner at Morristown Agway could not have been nicer to accommodate us and listen to our questions and concerns. He was genuinely concerned and wanted to make sure the problem was solved. The customer service and how they treat their customers is top notch. You also have a good selection to choose from... Especially if, like me, your interests lie in herbs and veggies. I'm an organic home gardener and I've been searching for rock dust to amend the minerals in my soil. I have found Azomite online but have a hard time buying something when the shipping cost more than the product. I stopped by Agway today and was so happy to see they stock Azomite and at the same price found online.
